Activities GBPD is pleased to offer the following activities on Friday afternoon. Each company is eligible to sign-up two participants free of charge, compliments of GBPD. Additional participants and/or activities may be purchased thru PLUS points or via credit card. All tours are subject to cancellation due to minimum attendance numbers not being met. Golf Outing Florida’s Big Three - Dolphins, Manatees and Gators Itinerary: 12:00-1:00PM 1:00-1:30PM 1:30-3:00PM 3:00-3:15PM 3:15-3:45PM 3:45-4:15PM 4:15-5:15PM Transfer to Banana River Break and Check-In Exclusive narrated wildlife cruise on a pontoon boat Transfer to Lone Cabbage Fish Camp Refreshment Break with Alligator Sampling Exclusive narrated airboat excursion and refreshments Return transfer to the hotel This tour begins en route, as a “certified” Eco-Guide narrates the significance of the Banana River, a backwater estuary and a wilderness waterway that was used by the indigenous Ais Indians. You will learn of its significance as you explore and cruise the smooth, inland waters around the lagoon’s uninhabited islands, aboard a shallow-draft pontoon boat, in safety and comfort. Then it’s off to look for alligators in The Central Florida Everglades! Here you will board airboats to explore an American Heritage River, the St. Johns, and its abundant wildlife by 15 passenger airboats. Your 30 minute airboat expedition has its own guide and Coast Guard licensed boat captain who will take you deep into the fresh water swamp habitat of the Florida Alligator and a wonderful assortment of creatures that call the “glades” home. This is an easy adventure without the dirt or danger. Notes: • Children under 8 years old are not recommend to participate in this tour. • This tour is outdoors. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. • The pontoon boat is wheelchair accessible; however, participants must be ambulatory to step onto the boat from the dock. *Minimum of 20 participants Click here to return to the main page Airboat & Wildlife Park Itinerary: 12:00-1:00PM 1:00-2:00PM 2:00-2:30PM 2:30-3:30PM 3:30-4:30PM Transfer to Wild Florida One hour Everglades Airboat Tour on Cypress Lake Gator Demo and Photos Free time to explore the Wildlife Park Return transfer to hotel Enjoy a closer look at alligators & exotic wild life as your guests glide through 4,200 acres of untouched nature preserve on an exclusive airboat ride. The swamp is free of any development and is 100% pure Florida wilderness. After your rides, guests will have their picture taken while holding a baby alligator. A portion of the funds generated from photos then support the Florida Panther Society continuing the preservation of Florida's nature and wildlife. The Wildlife Park gives guests the opportunity to watch, touch and even feed some of Florida’s native landdwelling animals, as well as various species of tropical birds. Get up-close to gators from the viewing dock in the gator pond! The Wildlife Park is also home to several beautiful exotic species including Zebras, Watusi, Water Buffalo, Emu and Zebu. A day in this park offers an amazing array of wild life including bald eagles, deer, cows, boars, turkey, alligators and more! Notes: • This tour involves walking in some locations. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. • The itinerary is a guideline and is subject to change due to time of year, comfort of tour, wildlife, weather, etc. *Minimum of 20 participants Click here to return to the main page Bass Fishing at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Itinerary: 1:00-1:30PM 1:30PM-3:30PM 3:30–4:00PM Transfer to Walt Disney World Contemporary Hotel Orientation and bass fishing excursion Return transfer to the hotel During construction of the Magic Kingdom theme park in the late 1960’s, more than 70,000 bass fingerlings were released into Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. Organized fishing tour s didn’t start at Walt Disney World Resort until 1977, leaving bass to grow and breed undisturbed for years. Launching directly from Disney’s Contemporary Resort, guests with little or no fishing experience can enjoy the thrill of guided bass fishing excursions on the waterway systems at Walt Disney World Resort, including World Showcase Lagoon, Bay Lake, and Seven Seas Lagoon. This two hour “catch-and-release” tour are led by experienced fishing guides are offered daily and allows your guests to fish in over 750 acres of water, stocked full of largemouth bass. Pontoon boats are fully stocked for excursions with rods, fishing gear and beverages. Notes: • Walt Disney World adheres to a “catch and release” system. • Walt Disney World cannot guarantee participants will catch fish. • This activity is completely outdoors. ZoomAir's unique tree-to-tree games and zip lines are deftly woven into the forest of the black waterriver floodplain swamp that is home to the Zoo. The Upland Course features four zip lines among its 30 sections, peaking at around 35 feet. Zoom Air provides nature-lovers and challenge-seekers alike the opportunity to enjoy the thrill of real, active adventure in Central Florida. A fresh, memorable approach to group-bonding and a team activity. Rainforest is higher and more challenging, with another 30 sections, including five ziplines (must complete Upland course to be eligible for Rainforest course). Guests will enter and exit the course by way of a 500-foot zip line, starting nearly 50 feet in the air! Notes: • Pregnant women and those with previous back or shoulder injuries are expressly prohibited from going on any ZoomAir courses. • This is an outdoor activity and closed, secured, athletic footwear and appropriate attire are required (no sandals, flip-flops, crocs, etc.). • Maximum waist size for harnesses is 48"; maximum thigh size 26". • Participants must be at least 54” tall to participate in this activity. Children's Courses: Between 36" & 60" • Children under 18 must have a parent/guardian sign the release register. Minors attending without a parent/guardian present must have the Zoom Air Minor Release completed and signed by parent/guardian to present at sign-in. • Anyone who has been drinking alcoholic beverages or taking medication or other substances that may affect their ability to perform on the course is prohibited from going on the course. There will be no refunds if staff notices you are under the influence. • Zoom Air reserves the right to refuse admission to, or order off the course, anyone who disregards the safety rules or who appears to our staff to be unable to safely complete the course. During this in-depth program, your guests get an insider’s look at conservation, animal nutrition and medicine, animal care, and behavioral studies. Highlights include visits to a backstage animal housing area, the Animal Nutrition Center, the Veterinary Hospital, and a special ride on Kilimanjaro Safaris. The majority of this program takes place behind-the-scenes- there may be no opportunity to view animals. Please note: no photos will be allows in behind-the-scenes area. Kilimanjaro Safari: Climb aboard the open-air safari vehicle for an incredible journey through more than 100 acres of African savannah, forest, rivers and rocky hills where hundreds of animals roam free. Unlike any experience this side of the equator, the Kilimanjaro Safari introduces your guests to the splendor and magnificence of creatures both large and small. An unexpected twist takes guests on an adventurous trip in pursuit of a band of poachers while messages of conservation are echoed throughout the expedition. Notes: • The majority of this tour takes place behind-the-scenes; there may not be an opportunity to view animals. • Photos are not allowed in the backstage areas • This tour takes place partly outdoors and includes moderate walking and stair climbing; we recommend participants wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. • Special needs can be accommodated with prior notice. Boats navigating the canals and enjoying views of an enchanting lighthouse is typical of this course’s distinctive character. Lake Buena Vista is a pleasure to play for pros and novices alike and many familiar names have walked these fairways in PGA TOUR, LPGA and USGA events. Golfing here is, in the words of course architect, Joe Lee, “exciting, challenging, yet fun to play.” Notes: • Soft spike shoes are required at all courses. No heeled shoes are allowed.
