a television expose shed light on what was
happening inside the walls of institutions.
It was that knowledge that fueled parents
and the public to ignite change.
In the British comedy department,
this is the last month for Last of
the Summer Wine. We’ve enjoyed
watching parts of the long running series
on WITF for the past two years. In our
continuing efforts to rotate through a
variety of series, we’ll be entertained by
another series that hasn’t been seen in
these parts in some time with To The
Manor Born. The series tells the tale
of lady of the manor Audrey fforbesHamilton, who’s forced to sell her beloved
Grantleigh Estate when her husband’s
death leaves her financially strapped.
Decamping to the tiny Old Lodge cottage,
she sets up home with butler Brabinger
in tow. Keep your suggestions coming as
we continue to rotate through a variety of
popular Britcoms ■

Part of IDEA EXCHANGE – Tuesdays at 2pm
Invisibilia is Latin for "invisible things." The program explores
the unseen forces that shape human behavior -- things like ideas,
beliefs, assumptions and emotions -- interweaving narrative storytelling with scientific research that will ultimately make you see
your own life differently. The show is co-hosted by a trio of NPR's
award-winning journalists, Alix Spiegel, Lulu Miller and Hanna
Rosin, who have roots at This American Life, Radiolab and
The Atlantic.
Season 2 airs on WITF Tuesdays at 2pm as part of our Idea
Exchange through the summer months. In the new season,
Spiegel, Miller and Rosin, look at terrorism in Denmark, a
McDonalds in Russia, and a grand social experiment in Rwanda. ■
