July 1 begins a new round of the baking competition Friday nights at 9:00pm. The series will continue Friday nights into August. WITF and PBS’ annual celebration of the country’s independence begins Sunday, July 3 at 1:00pm with The Best of the Boston Pops, followed by F.S. Key and the Song that Built America, Ken Burns The Statue of Liberty, and last year’s Capitol Fourth concert. Join us Monday, July 4 for A Capitol Fourth live at 8:00pm. If you miss out Monday night, we’ll rebroadcast A Capitol Fourth Tuesday at noon. The month rounds out with coverage of the political conventions. This year PBS and NPR team up to provide comprehensive coverage of both conventions. The Republican Convention from Cleveland begins July 18 and continues through July 21 starting each night at 8:00pm through at least 11:00pm. The Democratic Convention in Philadelphia begins July 25 through July 28 starting each night at 8pm and continues until at least 11pm. In case you missed its premiere back in April, be sure to catch a rebroadcast of the recent WITF Original Production i go home July 31 at 6:00pm. We’ve enjoyed watching parts of the long running series on WITF for the past two years.
