Brunswick is excited to announce two new performance balls to start the new year – Mastermind Scholar and
Vintage Gold Rhino Pro. These new balls will start shipping to pro shops on February 25th.
The blue/silver/gold Mastermind Scholar offers easy length with supreme traction on the backend to achieve
ultimate flip. The Mastermind Scholar combines the Honor Roll A+ Pearl reactive coverstock and the Mastermind
Ultra Low RG core to produce improved angular velocity that transfers more energy to the pins for increased pin
action and higher scores.
The Vintage Gold Rhino Pro offers tremendous shelf appeal and expands the range of ball motion in our Vintage
series by delivering stronger hook motion with outstanding backend reaction. The Vintage Gold Rhino Pro
combines a higher differential version of our Vintage symmetric core with Fortify Pearl reactive coverstock to
produce impressive versatility on a variety of lane conditions.
In conjunction with the release of the Mastermind Scholar and Vintage Gold Rhino Pro, Brunswick is once again
offering the instant rebate program to pro shops and consumers. This instant rebate will provide a $20 per ball
savings on the Mastermind Scholar and Vintage Gold Rhino Pro throughout the life of the balls. Pro shops simply
order the Mastermind Scholar and Vintage Gold Rhino Pro as needed from their Brunswick distributor, and the
distributor will discount the invoice to reflect the instant rebate and lower price. Similar to last year, we will be
promoting this instant rebate offer to consumers via marketing materials, advertising, and social media.

MASTERMIND™ SCHOLAR
COVERSTOCK
Honor Roll A+ Pearl coverstock offers the most aggressive pearl coverstock to date for a
Brunswick ball. This aggressive pearl coverstock produces easy length through the heads with
supreme traction on the backend to achieve ultimate flip.
CORE
The Mastermind Ultra Low RG core features a single density squared-off elliptical inner core.
The core is dynamically designed to extend the rotational energy, boosting angular velocity to
transfer energy to the pins for increased pin action and higher scores.
BALL MOTION
The new Mastermind Scholar with its Royal Shine finish, provides maximum length through
heads, mid lane traction with an aggressive move on the backend on medium to oily lane
conditions.
REACTION SETUP
The Mastermind Scholar can be drilled using the standard drilling techniques developed for
asymmetric core bowling balls.
LIGHTWEIGHT ENGINEERING
At Brunswick, the unique core shape of each individual ball is used for weights from 14 to
16 pounds. This approach to lightweight ball engineering provides bowlers with consistent
ball reaction characteristics across this weight range. At 12 and 13 pounds, Brunswick uses a
generic core shape with a RG-differential that is close enough to the 14 to 16 pound shape so
the same drilling instructions can be used.

COVERSTOCK
Fortify reactive coverstock is Brunswick’s hottest creation based off our performance
enhancing additive chemistry technology. Fortify reactive combines a new base coverstock
with an enhanced additive package that will provide the easiest length with the quickest

CORE
The High Differential Vintage core features an old school tall and smooth cylinder design.
