We’re throwing a BIG PARTY where the guest of honor is SCIENCE! OCTOBER 4-11 | BLACKSBURG and ROANOKE The first-ever Virginia Science Festival kicks off October 4 at Virginia Tech and ends October 11 in Roanoke. Each day features nearly 100 exhibits, programs, and performances celebrating science, technology, engineering, art, and math, or STEAM. Virginia Tech President Timothy Sands opens the festival with Stephen Jurczyk, director of NASA Langley Research Center, which will be a major exhibitor in both Blacksburg and Roanoke. The Blacksburg festival day takes place throughout Virginia Tech, including the Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center, Drillfield, and Moss Arts Center. The Roanoke festival day extends from the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute to the Jefferson College of Health Sciences, Elmwood Park, Market Plaza, Center in the Square, Taubman Museum of Art, Roanoke Market Building, and the Wells Fargo Lawn. Featured activities include the inaugural U.S. Pea Shooting Championship; WDBJ7 WeatherFest; and robot demonstrations by VirginiaFIRST Robotics and other organizations. Why Pi Miller? Why Pi Miler?
