Enjoy walking to music in our climate-controlled
indoor gymnasium.
Mid to high range impact, high energy workout
incorporating exercise that ramps up your pole
walking. The Rutlin technique significantly
reduces impact and stress on ankles, knees, hips,
and back. Excellent for cardio, posture, flexibility,
coordination and muscle strengthening.
Learn to use weights with a 20 minute walk,
followed by a full body weight training program.
Our certified older adult instructor will help you
improve your overall physical condition.

the Nepean Sportsplex. Entertainment and

Travel Club
If you are a member of the Seniors Centre, you
are also a member of the Travel Club. Starting
October 17, 2013 the Travel Club will be going
to China for 15 days. Their trips for 2014 will be
announced at their AGM to be held on September

Monthly Lunches
Each month during the school year (October –
May), the students at Sir Guy Carleton Secondary
School make lunch at their school for members
of our Centre. For a nominal charge of $10.50,
the seniors can enjoy a three-course meal with
homemade rolls, followed by tea and coffee.
Special Events
There are numerous special events taking place
throughout the year including a Winter Blahs
Bash, Slots trips, Concerts, Canada Day BBQ,
Christmas Dinner, Continental Breakfast, monthly
Military Whists, Day trips and more.

This course prolongs independence at home
Do you want to stay as healthy as possible,
for as long as possible?
What tips and simple strategies can you use
every day to maximize your health and safety?
Join Bayshore Home Health as they host this
popular eight-week program designed to help
you become a better self-health manager and
promote your long-term health and wellness.
Each week you’ll learn from a health care expert
about a different aspect of healthy aging in
a relaxed, social setting. You’ll gain valuable
information on the importance of each area
of health, learn to identify potential risk and
symptoms, as well as take away day to day
strategies you can use to promote and manage
your own health. Topics such as nutrition,
flexibility and mobility, medication use and
management and infection risk will be covered.
This course if offered here at the Seniors Centre,
FREE of charge on Wednesdays,
October 9-November 27 from 10-11 am.

Learn to design and lead effective and beneficial
group physical activity programs for mobile older
adults. Includes exercise principles for individuals
with arthritis, diabetes, heart disease and
osteoporosis. Fitness certification and experience
would be beneficial although not necessary.

Tai Chi
A gentle, peaceful way to tone and strengthen
