305 mm wide, 252 mm long and 56
mm high. From the outside the LMTLX device is rather inconspicuous.
But inside, is intelligent technology
that simplifies the work of planners,
fitters and building owners. A small
box for daylight control that fulfils
three wishes at once and creates an
optimal work environment for people.
- Flexibility in planning, since commissioning is implemented over a bus
and addressing the lighting and
modules can therefore be adapted
to existing needs
- Simplicity in installation, since the
connection is made without tools
and saves time
- Intelligence for the future, since the
usage of the room can change at
any time

LM-TLX is really
smart
LM-TLX is fast

LM-TLX is really
narrow
With a height of 56 mm
the LM-TLX module is
the lowest of its kind.
This is of great benefit
when fitting in false ceilings
because there is no shortage of space
due to other installations. Connection
sockets on the side add to this advantage. As a result, the LM-TLX module
can also be fitted into extremely narrow false ceilings.
Pre-installed luminaires are connected to
the LM-TLX module
without tools by means
of the plug&play procedure,
saving time and avoiding mistakes.
The well thought-out installation
method enables the "satellite
system" to be expanded easily at any
time.
The LM-TLX module
is functional as soon
as it has been connected. Addressing can
also be implemented over
the bus after installation and after
closure of the ceiling panels. In this
way it is possible to reconfigure the
lights and other devices at any time,
without additional cables and without
having to open the ceiling panels.
This applies not only for setting the
scenes and the daylight dependence,
but also for the addressing after
room borders or workplaces and furniture have been relocated or replaced.

Good light is completely natural
Modern offices and administration
buildings are characterized by a high
level of flexibility. Whether open-plan
or individual office, the room architecture changes and so do the requirements of the people working there.
It is particularly important that the
lighting should be able to adapt to
changing situations. With the LM-TLX,
LUXMATE delivers the appropriate
solution.
The daylight controller enables the
amount of artificial light to be adapted to the existing daylight in order
that it conforms with the individual
requirements of the user. Moreover,
additional LUXMATE modules enable
other room functions, e.g. blinds or
air-conditioner, to be tuned to one
another, regulated and aligned on
what the user is currently doing. The
result is an optimal environment in
the room, which is stimulating and
which increases people's well-being.
Everything under control
The LM-TLX is installed complete in
the hollow space inside a false ceiling
and addressed over a bus line. The
module can also be addressed and
configured at a later time without
tools and without rewiring. A single
LM-TLX can control 9 pairs of luminaires individually over the various
LUXMATE control units. Furthermore,
pre-defined scenes can be recalled at
any time and adjusted manually. 3
arbitrary scenes can compensate
automatically for the daylight. Operation is through the user locally.
A further benefit provided by the
LUXMATE light and room management system is energy optimization
of the building. Adaptation of the
artificial light to the available amount of daylight leads to considerable
savings in energy. All this takes place
in the background, imperceptibly for
the user but with maximum advantage for humans and their well-being.
The LM-TLX is installed in the hollow space
inside a false ceiling. The module can then be
addressed and configured at any time over a
bus, without tools and without rewiring.
Everything inside, everything supplied:
Daylight controller LM-TLX
Function / Application
The daylight controller LM-TLX is used
in open-plan offices and adjacent individual offices or in large rooms in
which the emphasis is on the use of
natural light, the saving of energy, and
ergonomic aspects such as the wellbeing of the persons using the room.
The LM-TLX enables the artificial light
to be controlled according to the
amount of daylight entering the room.

digital ballasts (PCA), electronic
transformers (TEL) and phase dimmers (PHD). Cable length (power
line and DSI jointly in one cable):
max. 15 m. The luminaire connecting cables must be fitted by the
manufacturer or on site with Wieland connectors (Type GST 18i5S S1
ZR1).
-Connections for presence sensors
PST: Cable length max. 10 m. Care
must be taken during assembly that
the cable is attached to the correct
pins of the 8-pole RJ-45 connector.
-Connections for momentary action
switches with 4-pole RJ-45 connector; max. cable length 10 m.

fitting instructions. As an alternative to several light sensors, especially in larger buildings, an external
daylight sensor on the roof can be
used over the LUXMATE bus
together with a LUXMATE room
automation computer.
-Distributor box: The distributor box
must be provided by the building
owner for wiring the LM-TLX modules in "satellite cabling".
-Additional LUXMATE modules, e.g.
LM-IRB, can be connected at the
RJ-45 connection Line out/Bus out.
This connection must not be used
for further LM-TLX modules.
-The LM-TLX must be counted once
for calculating the bus power supply
(LM-BV, LM-BVS35), and 9 times for

Relay controller LM-RLX
Function / Application
The relay controller LM-RLX is used
in open-plan offices and adjacent
individual offices or in large rooms in
which the emphasis is on economy.
The LM-RLX enables the artificial
light to be controlled according to
whether anyone is in the room. The
emergency light function is also
integrated in the concept.

Light Management and Safety
Lighting Combined
Up to now, general lighting and
safety lighting have been regarded as
separate systems and have therefore
been realized separately. The LM-TLX
and LM-RLX enable the safety
lighting to be integrated into the
LUXMATE system, exploiting synergies in control and monitoring which
would otherwise be unused. A number
of different solutions are possible for
emergency lighting, depending on the
layout of the LUXMATE facility.
Simple implementation
In the simple implementation, two
luminaires with integrated emergency
light contact units are connected to
each of two outputs of the LM-TLX.
From a suitable location, the emergency luminaires are switched to
emergency light operation over the
LUXMATE bus. The outlay for wiring
is considerably reduced.
Convenient implementation
In the most convenient implementation, a light sensor is installed for each
emergency lamp, directed towards
the lamp. By means of evaluation
electronics, the light sensor value is
supplied to a corresponding momentary action switch input of the LMTLX, this input having been configured in a customer-specific way. The
visualization, control and monitoring
requires that the emergency light
software LMW-ELM is installed on a
separate LUXMATE server or on the
LUXMATE room automation computer
LRA.
The benefits for the customer:
- Automatic or manual initiation of
the function test and operating
time test
- Monitoring of the emergency light
electronics, rechargeable battery
and lamp (failure, aging)
- Documentation of the emergency
light test
Accessories for LM-TLX y LM-RLX
Light sensor LSD
(only for LM-TLX)
The light sensor LSD measures the daylight
entering the room through the window. The
connected LM-TLX module uses this value for
controlling the room lighting. Installation and
planning instructions must be followed exactly
in order to ensure proper
functioning of the daylight dependent controller.

Infrared control unit
LM-IRB
IRED
IRS
The infrared input module LM-IRB receives the
signals of the infrared control unit IRS over the
IR sensors IRED and converts these into LUXMATE bus signals. One LM-IRB can convert the
infrared signals of up to 2 differently configured
infrared remote controllers. The IR remote controller enables three different scenes to be programmed and recalled in the room. In addition,
LUXMATE outputs can be separately switched
and dimmed in up to 5 domains.
The infrared sensor IRED for ceiling installation
converts the signals from the infrared remote
controller IRS into electrical signals and sends
these on to the LM-IRB.
Up to 9 different IR channels can be set at the
IRS. The IRS can basically be used to operate
any kind of LUXMATE output, e.g. also blinds or
screens.
