Michael Gregersen, Operations Manager at El-Giganten, had a massive challenge in
November 2011. Their store in Gentofte, just outside Copenhagen, was on a weekly
basis being robbed by an Organized Retail Crime gang utilizing booster-bags.
This gang was observed on the stores CCTV system and being recorded each time they
hit. Michael Gregersen was able to review prior video footage and observed the gang
filling up their booster-bags and exit the shop without any alarm being activated.
Just prior to Christmas Michael Gregersen had Alert MetalGuard installed as a stand
alone system and after a short period of time the results were obvious. Shrinkage was
reduced by a very satisfying, even double-digit percentage number on some articles.
Michael would like to keep the information confidential, but the result is so positive
that more Alert Metalguards are already being ordered for his other stores.
