Introduction to Climate Change and
how YOUth can become the solution
Do you care about the environment? Would you like to make a change in people‘s behaviour and in the government‘s regulations?
Get a one week training about climate change! Learn how to raise projects and initiatives to influence your environment for a better!
Get to know the culture of sustainability! Get to know people from Egypt and from Germany, who share your interests and create initiatives with them! Meet activists!
Part one of the project will take place in Cairo from the 2nd to 9th May. Part 2 is going to be held in Berlin, Germany, in September 2013.
BUNDjugend Berlin, the youth organisation of Bund für Umwelt und Naturschutz Berlin, will cooperate with the expert in terms of climate actions in Egypt, AYCM (Arab Youth Climate Movement Egypt) and IYDA (Intercultural Youth Dialogue Association) that has a lot of experiences in intercultural exchanges.
The program includes training sessions on campaign and action planning, basic info on climate change and first hand contacts to environmental activists. Of course we will also get to know the country and culture of our partner. Together you will discuss environmental problems in Egypt and Germany and develop (small) projects to become part of the solution.
Conditions
• interest in civil society and environmental issues
• open for new culture and experiences
• good level of English
• between 18 and 26 years old, resident of Germany or Egypt
• valid passport and ability to travel to Egypt 2nd­9th of May and to Berlin in September
• payment of 350€ includes the following:
• training
• accomodation and food
• flight (from Berlin to Cairo and back), reimbursment of national travel costs to Berlin depend in budget and connot be guaranteed
• insurance
• visa fees
• administration fees
