The Carlos Vega Collection of Latino History in Holyoke

collectionoflocalLatinohistoryasassembledbyCarlosVegaandis
honoredtobethepremierrepositoryinHolyokeforLatinoHistory.As
oneofHolyoke’srespectedcommunityleaders,andanimportantvoicefor
thepeopleofHolyokeforover40years,Vegahasworkedtobuilda
strongercommunityinpartnershipwithawidearrayofcityleadersand
supporters.FromhousingrightsandeducationtoLatinocultural
celebrationsandeconomicdevelopment,hehaschampionedtheneedsof
theLatinocommunity.Thecollectionincludesnewspaperarticles,
photographs,festivalposters,organizationalfiles,andearlyexamplesof
Vega’scommunityinvolvement.Theseresources,oncecataloged,will

HolyokeCollegeandguestteacherswiththePennsylvaniaAcademyofBallet.
