DAY 1 - MONTRÉAL
Welcome to the beautiful city of Montréal, discovered in 1535 by Jacques Cartier, and founded more
than a century later, in 1642. Today it mixes old
and new with a charm and cosmopolitan flare that
make it one of the most unique cities in Canada.

DAY 4 - PERCÉ 198 KM
This region is renowned for terrific bird watching
opportunities, as well as for terrific hiking and
walking trails. Continue your journey through
charming towns and fishing villages, until you
catch a glimpse of the spectacular ‘Rocher Percé’.

DAY 2 - RIVIERE-DU-LOUP 450 KM
Today you travel the south shores of the St. Lawrence northeast to the town of Riviere-du-Loup.
You’ll find the Parc des chutes de la Riviere du
Loup—a terrific spot for a picnic or a late afternoon
stroll. Overnight in Riviere-du-Loup.
DAY 5 - PERCÉ
Spend a leisurely day exploring this beautiful corner of the Gaspésie. Take a cruise to Bonaventure
Island and the Rocher Percé. You will see thousands of gannets and plentiful marine life who live
there. Up to 250,000 birds nest on the island, including a 70,000 strong northern gannet colony.
Then take time to explore this quaint village that
has been a popular destination for travelers since
the 1930s.

DAY 3 - BONAVENTURE 407 KM
Along route today there are a few sites that may be
of interest, including Restigouche National Historic
Site and the Forest & Salmon Interpretive Center.
Once you reach Carleton, journey up to Mont SaintJoseph to catch a panoramic view of Baie-desChaleurs and Ile au Heron, and visit the historic
chapel. A short drive along the coast brings you to
Bonaventure overlooking the Baie des Chaleurs.

DAY 6 - MATANE 370 KM
Continue your discovery of the Gaspésie as you
drive along Forillon National Park, located at the
mouth of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Hiking and walking trails and bluffs overlook the ocean, so keep
your eyes open as you may see whales surfacing
just off shore. Before Forillon National Park was created, a fishing community was based here, and the
Grande-Grave heritage site showcases a rich human
history peopled by the fishermen and merchants
who lived in Forillon in the early 20th century. Your
day ends in the town of Matane.

DAY 7 - MATANE
Situated at the confluence of the Matane River and
the St.Lawrence River, Matane is worth exploring.
Spend the day seeing the sights, perhaps visiting a
lighthouse or the Salmon Interpretation Centre.

DAY 8 - LES ESCOUMINS
A short ferry connects the coastal towns of Matane
and Baie-Comeau.Once in Baie Comeau continue
southalong the Manicouagan region and the north
shore of the St. Lawrence River to the town of Les
Escoumins. Overnight in Les Escoumins
DAY 9 - POINTE-AU-PIC
As today is not a long driving day,perhaps it would
be an opportunetime to take advantage of the whale
watching opportunities in the area. Located at the
mouth of the Saguenay, Tadoussac offers wonderful
whalewatching, and exploring this charimg
town on foot is a treat. A short ferry ride takes you
to the other side of theSaguenay River, then follow
the St.Lawrence through Charlevoix country before
arriving in Pointe-au-Pic, a favourite for tourists
since the early 20th century. Overnight in Pointeau-Pic
DAY 10 - POINTE-AU-PIC
Spend the day exploring this wonderful region, perhaps enjoying a round of golf, or walk the hills overlooking the river. Charming restaurants and shops
await your discovery. Overnight in Pointe-au-Pic.
DAY 11 - QUÉBEC CITY 200 KM
En route, be certain to visit Baie-Saint-Paul; home
to fishermen and a community of artists, this
charming village is a living fresco with its quaint
cafes and art galleries. A journey along the shores
of the St. Lawrence River takes you to Québec, a
city very intimately tied to the river. This incredibly beautiful port is North America’s only fortified
city and has earned a UNESCO designation as a
World Heritage city. It will not take long to discover the intrinsic charm of ‘New France’; the
winding cobblestone streets, quaint boutiques and
worldclass restaurants welcome visitors from around the globe.

DAY 12 - DUCHESNAY 45 KM
A short drive out of Québec City brings you to the
Auberge Duchesnay. Spend the next two days by
the lake, enjoying the many activities available.

DAY 13 - DUCHESNAY
Your day is free at leisure for you to relax and en
joy. Overnight in Duchesnay.
DAY 14 - MONTRÉAL 265 KM
Time to leave the quiet and serene town of
Duchesnay. Today you head back to Montréal for
your final night in Canada. Your final day can be
spent shopping and exploring those yet uncovered
jewels in Old Montréal! Overnight in Montréal.
DAY 15 - DEPART
Make your way to the airport where you will return
your rental car and prepare for your flight home.
