Roles in the EDA process
Project-Manager
Responsible for the overall project.
Defines the mechatronic product structure,
requirements and tasks. Controls results.
Mechanical-Designer
Designs the surrounding geometry in the 3D-CAD
system CATIA V5. Fulfills requirements of the
project manager. Defines requirements for the PCB
development.
Electrical-Designer
Design the schematics of the PCB. Fulfills
requirements of the project manager and designers.
Electrical-Layouter
Designs the layout of the PCB in the ECAD System.
Fulfills requirements of the project manager, ECADDesigners and MCAD-Designers.
Library-Manager
Manages the different libraries of the ECAD- and
MCAD-systems.

component in the 3D electrical component library within the PDM

Use the CATIA V5 clash functionality in order to detect an
interference within the loaded mechatronic product structure
Use the provided interface function in order to store the new
position back into the PDM system, e.g. for ECR purposes

E-Parts where a specific library element is used
For example use this information to inform all E-Part owners that
a new version of the library component is available
