45-hole Verdura lies right
beside the Mediterranean
Sea and boasts an excellent
hotel and fabulous southern European cuisine. Sir
Rocco is a frequent guest
himself: he loves the su­
perior lifestyle; and with a
14 handicap, he’s a passionate golfer, too.
On the golfing front, the
Verdura offers two equally
challenging 18-hole courses with sea views from
every tee. Each day, one
course is reserved for
three- and four-player
flights, while the other is
for pairs; and the next day
the roles are reversed, so
there’s never any hassle
over players’ rhythm and
pace. Signature holes?
They’re the two par fours
leading back to the historic
Torre Clubhouse, where
the drives zip beside the
silver blue waves.
For accommodation the
