GRAMMAR 01 Comparing
Complete Sylvia’s account of her summer holidays with the correct form of the words in brackets.
The (1) __________________ (good) holiday I’ve had so far was when I went to Paris last summer. Paris is
one of the (2) __________________ (pretty) cities in Europe. It has the (3) __________________
(beautiful) buildings I’ve ever seen and some of the (4) __________________ (interesting) architecture.
I saw some amazing sights, and I even went up the Eiffel Tower, which was (5) __________________
(exhausting) than playing a tennis match. It would have been (6) __________________ (quick) to go up
with the elevator but walking was a lot (7) ________________ (cheap).
I even spoke some French – it was (8) __________________ (easy) than I had imagined! However, my
French pronunciation was even (9) __________________ (bad) than my English pronunciation! Then after
two weeks and lots of practice my French seemed (10) __________________ (good) than my English!
So maybe I should go to England next summer!
