Dal 19 al 22 maggio Riva del
Garda diventa il centro della radio italiana. Radioincontri, quest’anno alla sua seconda edizione, è un evento in cui alcune tra
le trasmissioni radiofoniche
italiane di maggior successo
si trasferiscono nel Garda Trentino per dare vita a quattro giorni
ricchi di momenti di intrattenimento, culturali e sportivi.
La kermesse radiofonica si aprirà giovedì 19 con la trasmissione “Nate libere, 30 anni di radio private in Italia”, in onda su
Radio 24, e proseguirà i giorni
successivi con alcuni dei principali interpreti e protagonisti del-

Donnerstag, den 19. Mai die
Radiokirmes.
Einige der bekanntesten Rundfunkstars gehen in diesen Tagen
hier auf Sendung, u.a. Antonello Dose und Marco Presta mit

Dopo l’esperienza del 2000,
l’Arcobonsai Club ha nuovamente ottenuto la nomination
per l’organizzazione della Convention 2005 dell’E.B.A. (European Bonsai Association), alla
quale aderiscono diciassette
paesi europei: Arcobonsai 2005,
che si svolgerà ad Arco dal 6
all’8 maggio 2005, diventa così
quest’anno il più importante
appuntamento europeo del
mondo del bonsai.
In quest’edizione avranno inoltre luogo il Trofeo Arcobonsai,
con 17 esperti scelti tra i paesi
appartenenti all’.E.B.A., e la
Convention dell’ E.S.A., l’Associazione Europea Suiseki,
che raccoglie i cultori delle pietre ed è collegata con il mondo
del bonsai.
Nelle sale del Casinò Municipale di Arco saranno allestite
le mostre per il catalogo dei
migliori bonsai e suiseki 2005
a cura dell’Associazione Nazionale Italiana del Bonsai,
con l’esposizione delle migliori
piante oggi esistenti in Italia.
Le sale ospiteranno, come da
tradizione, anche conferenze
tenute da docenti universitari
su argomenti interessanti quali
la coltivazione delle piante ed in
particolare dei bonsai.
All’esterno è allestita la più
grande esposizione a livello
europeo di bonsai, attrezzature, vasi ed accessori, con la partecipazione di aziende da tutta
Europa.

catalogue, organized by the
Italian Bonsai Association,
with the best plants in Italy on
display. There will also be
the traditional conferences held by university lecturers

as the cultivation
of plants, especially
bonsai.
Outdoors there will
be the biggest exhibition of bonsai in
Europe, including
implements,
vases and accessories, with companies from all over
Europe taking part.
There will also be the annual Arcofiori, a market exhibition of
local flower and hothouse production and animal farming,
now in its seventh edition.
The Trento Flavours Village
is a special occasion on which

PREMIO SEGANTINI 2005
Domenica 29 maggio, nella
splendida cornice del rione di
Stranforio di Arco, si svolgerà
la trentasettesima edizione
del Premio Segantini, lo storico concorso di pittura che ha
luogo dal 1966 e richiama in
città numerosi pittori e un folto
pubblico di amanti dell’arte.
La manifestazione, entrata ormai nella tradizione degli eventi
arcensi, è organizzata dall’assessorato comunale alla cultura
e coinvolge numerose persone, enti ed associazioni. Nella
giornata principale – quella appunto di domenica 29 maggio
– si svolgeranno sia la mostra
a tema libero (lungo via Stranforio e via Orbia) sia la mostra
estemporanea di pittura, quest’anno dedicata al tema “Ritratti
e figure passanti per Arco”, con
le opere esposte dal pomeriggio
nel cortile delle case ITEA di San
Bernardino. La premiazione dei
quadri avverrà con cerimonia

Mai die 37. Ausgabe des Premio
Segantini statt. Zahlreiche Kunstmaler und Liebhaber der Malerei treffen jährlich zu diesem
schon historischen Wettbewerb,
der 1966 ins Leben gerufen wurde, in Arco ein. Gefördert wird
diese Veranstaltung vom Kulturreferat der Gemeinde. Entlang
der Via Stranforio und der Via
Orbia werden Bilder nach freier
Wahl ausgestellt, während am
Nachmittag im Hof der “Case
ITEA di San Bernardino” die
Bilder zum heurigen Thema
„Portraits und Gestalten im
Vorbeigehen“ präsentiert werden. Die Preisverleihung findet
um 17.30 Uhr auf der Piazzetta
Stranforio statt.
Eine Reihe verschiedener Veranstaltungen begleiten diesen
Wettbewerb. Im Palazzo dei

setting of Stranforio di Arco,
will see the thirty seventh edition of the Segantini Award,
a historic art competition dating
from 1966 which attracts numerous artists and art lovers to the
city. The event is organized by
the Arco Councillor for Culture and involves a great many
people, authorities and associations. On the main day - Sunday
29 May – there will be both an
exhibition on a chosen theme
(along via Stranforio and via
Orbia) and an extemporary art
exhibition, this year dedicated
to the theme “Portraits and figures passing through Arco”, with
the works of art exhibited in the
afternoon in the courtyards of
the ITEA houses of San Bernardino. The awards ceremony
will be held at 5.30 p.m. in the
Stranforio Piazzetta, and will
be open to the public.

la mostra con le opere che sono
state premiate nel corso dell’edizione precedente del premio e
con una selezione personale di
quadri del vincitore della scorsa
edizione, Piero Panza, del secondo classificato, Franco Ferrari, e del terzo, Roberto Nezzi.
Nelle vetrine del centro storico, inoltre, numerosi negozi
propongono quadri premiati nel
corso delle edizioni precedenti
del premio: attraverso questi
spazi, è possibile godere di uno
scorcio sulla storia del premio e
sui suoi protagonisti, visibili dalle strade di Arco, dove sono stati
realizzati e premiati.
Sabato 28 maggio, nel pomeriggio (dalle 14.30 alle 17.00 circa) ha luogo la giornata dedicata
ai bambini con la manifestazione “SIAMO TUTTI SEGANTINI
JUNIOR”: un pomeriggio per
disegnare, ascoltare fiabe con
il gruppo di narratori Bandus! al
parco arciducale e fare merenda
insieme a tanti amici. Il punto di
incontro è alla fontana di Stranfora alle ore 14.30 (in caso di
pioggia presso il cortile interno
di palazzo Marcabruni–Giuliani,
in piazza Tre Novembre).

die im Laufe der Jahre ausgezeichnet worden sind. Parallel
dazu ist eine Auswahl von Bildern der Gewinner der vorjährigen Ausgabe zu sehen: Piero
Panza, Franco Ferrari und Roberto Nezzi.
Auch die Schaufenster der Altstadt werden zu Ausstellungsräumen und gewähren Einblick
in die Geschichte dieses Preises.
Unter dem Motto “SIAMO
TUTTI SEGANTINI JUNIOR”
(“WIR SIND ALLE SEGANTINI
JUNIOR”) verbringen die Kinder am Samstag, den 28. Mai
von 14.30 bis 17.00 Uhr einen
herrlichen Nachmittag im Park
des Erzherzogs Albert mit Zeichnen und Malen, mit den Märchenerzählern Bandus! und mit
einer kleinen Jause zusammen
mit allen Freunden. Treffpunkt
am Stranforabrunnen um
14.30 Uhr. Bei Regen wird der
Innenhof des Palazzo Marcabruni-Giuliani, am Piazza Tre
Novembre zum Atelier.

SEGANTINIS”): an afternoon for
children to draw, listen to stories
with the Bandus! story tellers in
the Archduke’s park, and picnic
with lots of friends. The meeting
point is the Stranfora fountain
at 2.30 p.m. (in the event of
rain, the internal courtyard of
palazzo Marcabruni-Giuliani, in
piazza Tre Novembre).

L’Osservatorio Internazionale
del Turismo Enogastronomico presentato durante la scorsa
edizione di BITEG a Riva del
Garda evidenzia che il 68% dei
turisti stranieri considera lo
shopping del gusto tra i fattori
di scelta di una destinazione,
pur ritenendo che l’enogastronomia rimane una risorsa trasversale ed un valore aggiunto per
qualsiasi tipologia di vacanza in
Italia. Elemento, questo, ancor
più rimarcato nel contesto europeo su cui è stata sviluppata
la ricerca, per il quale la cucina
italiana e l’enogastronomia
mantengono stabilmente la
leadership tra le motivazioni di
viaggio.
In tale contesto turistico il territorio del Garda Trentino ha molto
da offrire, e non è un caso che

of Wine and Food Tourism presented during the recent edition
of BITEG (International Food
and Wine Tourism Bourse) at
Riva del Garda points out that
68% of foreign tourists consider shopping for food one of
the deciding factors in their
choice of destination, although
food and wine is still considered
a transversal resource and added value for any type of holiday
in Italy. This element is even
more marked in the European
context in which the survey was
developed, where Italian cuisine and food and wine are
constantly top of the list of

1999 anlässlich der Hundertjahrfeier der Ausstellung des
Malers Giovanni Segantini
aus Arco als Expositionsraum
eröffnet. Die Kunst als Form
der universellen und übergreifenden Kommunikation prägt
unseren kulturellen Zeitgeist im
besonderen Maße. Durch die
Verbindung zwischen Kunst,
Tourismus und Sport entsteht
Aufmerksamkeit für die spezifische Identität und Besonderheit
von Orten und für die Interpretation der Ausdrucksform von
unterschiedlichen Räumen im
weitesten Sinn.
Die Veranstaltungen im Atelier
Segantini gewähren Einblick
in geschichtliche Aspekte
und kulturelle Besonderheiten der Stadt Arco. In den der
modernen Kunst gewidmeten
Ausstellungen spiegelt sich die
Geschichte der Stadt; während
Veranstaltungen zur zeitgenössischen Kunst neue Interpretationsmöglichkeiten dieses
Lebensraums bieten. Palazzo

IL VOTO
DI SAN ABBONDIO
L’anno 1630 fu tristemente celebre per la peste che, scoppiata a Milano, passò nel mantovano e successivamente a Trento,
Rovereto e Arco, mietendo migliaia di morti. Le comunità di
Dro e Ceniga si salvarono per
merito di un cordone sanitario
sorvegliato dalle guardie.
In segno di riconoscenza per
essere state preservate dal flagello della peste, fecero voto
solenne a S. Abbondio di festeggiare ogni primo sabato del
mese con l’astensione dal lavoro, processione e S. Messa nella chiesetta al Santo dedicata,
sul colle omonimo.

MANIFESTAZIONE
La manifestazione si tiene ogni
anno l’ultima settimana di maggio e si protrae per tre giorni dal
venerdì alla domenica; quest‘
anno si andrà dal 27 al 29 maggio 2005.
DAS GELÜBDE VON
S. ABBONDIO
Im Jahre 1630 brach in Mailand die Pest aus. Überall, auch
im Trentino, starben tausende
Menschen. Die Orte Dro und
Ceniga richteten eine Sperrzone ein und blieben so von der
tödlichen Epidemie verschont.
Zum Dank gelobten die Einwohner dem heiligen Abbondio, jeden ersten Samstag des Monats keine Arbeit zu verrichten und
in einer Prozession zur Kapelle
des Heiligen zu ziehen.
Drei Tage dauern jährlich die
Gedenkveranstaltungen, immer
in der letzten Maiwoche, heuer
vom 27. bis zum 29. Mai:
Die Unterschrift des Pergamentes: im Beisein ziviler und
religiöser Autoritäten wird symbolisch das Gelübde erneuert.
Der historische Umzug findet
am Sonntag Nachmittag statt
und führt durch die Straßen von

The year 1630 was sadly famous for the plague which broke out in Milan and spread to
the Mantua area then to Trento, Rovereto and Arco, killing
thousands. The communities of
Dro and Ceniga were protected
and saved by a sanitary cordon
guarded by soldiers.
As a sign of gratitude for having
been delivered from the horrors
of the plague, the inhabitants made a solemn vow to St.
Abbondio to celebrate every
first Saturday of the month by
suspending work and holding
a procession and Holy Mass in
the little church dedicated to the
saint and situated on a hill bearing his name.
THE EVENT
The event is held every year in
the last week of May and goes
on for three days, from Friday
to Sunday; this year it will take

dalla Magnifica Comunità di Dro

Il Corteo Storico: si svolge la
domenica pomeriggio, percorrendo le vie dei paesi di Dro e
di Ceniga.
Il Palio delle Botti: è una competizione non agonistica che si
tiene in piazza Repubblica a Dro
al Termine del Corteo Storico.
Lo Spettacolo serale: dopo la
distribuzione della pasta e fagioli si tiene lo spettacolo di compagnie ospiti.
Pasta, fasoi e pan de molche:
la distribuzione gratuita di pasta,
fagioli e pan di molche (pane
con olive) avviene alla conclusione del palio delle botti, alle
ore 19.15.
Dro und Ceniga. Zum Abschluss
des Umzuges finden sich die
Einwohner auf der Piazza Repubblica in Dro zum „Palio delle Botti“ ein. Um 19,15, nach
dem Palio, wird kostenlos „pasta e fasoi“ und „pan de molche“ (Olivenbrot) angeboten.
Die Festlichkeiten ziehen sich
bis in den späten Abend.

IL CASTELLO
DI ARCO
L’esistenza del Castello di Arco
è data per certa già verso l’anno Mille. Il nome stesso di Arco
deriva molto probabilmente da
“arx”, che significa fortezza.
Intorno al 1200 la nobile famiglia
dei Conti d’Arco divenne unica
proprietaria del maniero. Vari
assalti vennero portati al castello da parte dei signori di Seiano,
dai Lodron e dalle truppe della
Serenissima. Il borgo venne
preso in più occasioni, ma il castello resistette sempre.
Alla fine del XV secolo (1495)
Albrecht Dürer dipinse il castello di Arco: osservando il famoso acquerello (oggi conservato presso il Museo del Louvre
di Parigi) si nota che il castello
era in effetti un piccolo villaggio
fortificato, e ciò lo rende uno dei
castelli più grandi esistenti in
Trentino.
Nell’ambito della guerra di successione al trono di Spagna,

von Arco alleinige Besitzerin
der Burganlage. Belagert wurde
das Schloss von den Seiano,
den Lodron und den Truppen
der Venezianer, es wurde auch
einige Male eingenommen, aber
nicht zerstört. Albrecht Dürer
malte 1495 ein Bild der Burg
Arco, das heute zur Sammlung
des Louvre gehört. Im Verlaufe
des spanischen Erbfolgekrieges
überfiel der französische General Vendôme 1703 die Burg.
Danach verfiel sie zusehends.
1982 übernahm die Gemeinde
das Schloss von der damaligen
Besitzerin, der Gräfin von Arco,
Marchesa von Bagno. 1986

castle resisted every time.
At the end of the fifteenth century (1495) Albrecht Dürer painted Arco castle: observing the
famous water colour (today in
the Paris Louvre) it can be seen
that it was in fact a small fortified
village, which makes it one of
the biggest castles in Trento.
During the Spanish war of succession, French troops led by
general Vendôme besieged
Arco, took the city and bombarded the castle in August 1703.

Nel 1927 la contessa Giovanna d’Arco, Marchesa di Bagno,
divenne unica proprietaria del
maniero, fino al 1982, quando
il Comune di Arco decise di acquistarlo. Nel 1986 la Provincia
Autonoma di Trento ha avviato
radicali lavori di restauro e consolidamento dei numerosi ed
imponenti ruderi del castello, durante i quali è stata scoperta: la
splendida sala degli affreschi,
i cui dipinti risalenti al XIII/XIV
secolo – scene cavalleresche e
a tema profano – costituiscono
un unicum particolarmente prezioso e raro nel panorama monumentale trentino. L’itinerario
entro le mura del castello mostra aspetti storici, artistici ed
architettonici di grande pregio,
calati entro spazi verdi dove la
flora mediterranea si è sviluppata spontaneamente. La rupe
è inoltre un magnifico punto
panoramico dalla cui sommità è possibile ammirare l’intera
piana del Basso Sarca, in ogni
direzione.

In 1927 countess Giovanna
d’Arco, Marchesa of Bagno, became sole proprietor of the manor and sold it to the Arco local
authority in 1982.
In 1986 the Provincia Autonoma
di Trento started radical restoration work to consolidate the
numerous and imposing castle
ruins and discovered the splendid frescoed hall, the paintings
in which go back to the 13th/14th
century.
An itinerary within the castle
walls shows historical, artistic
and architectural aspects of
great interest, in a green setting where Mediterranean flora
grows spontaneously. The rock
is also a magnificent panoramic observation point from
which the entire lower Sarca
plain can be admired in all directions.

wines obtained in this part of
Trentino. Given the high vocation
of the territory and the favourable climatic conditions afforded
by Lake Garda, they decided to
broaden grape cultivation here.
