Knitting pattern:
Fisherman’s rib (number of stitches can be divided by 2):
1st row (= WSR): est, * k 1, p 1, repeat after *, est
2nd row (= RSR): est, * k 1, slip up 1 with yarn over left, repeat after *, est
3rd r: est, * k 1 with yarn over, slip up 1 with yarn over left, repeat after *, est
Always repeat 3rd row.
Tension sample (Fisherman‘s rib measured slightly stretched):
8 stitches x 20 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm
Knitting pattern:
The hat is knitted straight, in right- and wrong-side rows.
Cast on 40 st plus 2 edge stitches and knit 14 cm (= 27 r) in fisherman’s rib.
28th r: est, * k 1 with yarn over, p 1, repeat after *, est
29th – 31st r: est, * k 1, p 1, repeat after *, est
After a total length of 17 cm (= 31 r) decrease as follows:

32nd r: 1 est, k 1, * p tog 2, k tog 2, rep 8 times after *, p tog 2 and k tog the last st with the
est (= 22 st)
33rd 35th r: knit without decreasing, alternately knit 1, purl 1 between the est
36th r: est, k 1, then always k tog 2, and k tog the last st with the est (= 12 st)
37th r: est, always p tog 2, est (= 7 st)
Pull together the last 7 stitches with the working yarn. Close the back with as flat a seam as
possible and attach the fur pompon to the hat.
