How it all started…
In 1987, after returning from the world championships in USA,
Philippe Neidhart began matching cells using LavCo battery
testers. A new era had begun in the RC industry. Team Orion
was born and quickly imposed itself as the battery specialist,
winning several world championships. In 1997 Oscar Jansen
joined the company and in 2007 it was Adrien Bertin. This further increases the technical know-how of the company and
ensures that Team Orion remains at the peak of technology.
Today, Team Orion is a multinational company and its products are synonym of performance, high quality standards and
Swiss technology. Team Orion’s goal is to keep fulfilling its
customer’s requests and continuously improving its product

offer car specific LiPos! All the Team Orion LiPos feature a unique robust hard plastic case.
The case protects the sensitive LiPo cells from
damage after impacts. The Platinum and Carbon series LiPos are manufactured by KOKAM, the worldwide LiPo manufacturing
leader. These batteries are in a league of their
own. In the event of a short-circuit or overload
a fuse like system prevents extensive damage or injury, they are also approved by IATA,
another proof of their quality. LiPo batteries
are lighter than their NiMH counterparts and
can be cycled up to 500 times. Our hard case
design has been copied by our competitors,
but the overall quality levels have yet to be
matched. It’s without surprise that Team Orion
LiPo batteries were nominated 2007 Battery of
the Year by the RC Car Action magazine readers. The batteries feature a balancing port

Every receiver pack type has its own shape. With hump packs the cells
are assembled one on top of the others, with straight packs the cells

The Team Orion Pro-AM Digital is a convenient
high performance charger. It can be powered with

CRF 12 v2008
With the CRF engines, Team Orion has created
a new performance benchmark. CRF engines
are developed and tested by Adrien Bertin and
other top racers from around the world. CRF
engines are designed to be used with competition RC cars, they feature several technological improvements which are not found inside
competitors engines. CRF stands for “Concept
Ramella Fabrice” because this revolutionary technology was originally thought of by
Swiss engineer and inventor Fabrice Ramella.

tensive motor knowledge and testing, the CRF
technology advantages are perfectly adapted
to the demanding racing conditions.
The main technological advancements inside
CRF engines are found around the crankshaft
which is very different than traditional crankshafts found in regular engines. The central gas channel is angled. This angle allows
the crankshaft to work as a compressor as it
spins, the effect even increases as the RPM increase. Another advantage is that the opening at the back of the crankshaft is off-centered which improves two things. Firstly, the
fresh mixture flow is never obstructed by the
conrod at times it has to flow to the combustion chamber. Secondly the flow is diverted
from hitting the crankcase back cover, this allows better filling of the crankcase and cancels
“resonance” effects you can find inside regular engines were part of the mixture wants
to flow back through the crankshaft. There
are also slots on the outside of the crankshaft which are located around the intake
port. Not only do these slots improve the balancing of the crankshaft to minimize vibrations, but they actually pickup fresh fuel mixture and push it trough a special lateral canal
inside the crankcase. This canal then carries
the mixture through the rear bearing to im-
prove lubrication and filling of the crankcase.
The crankshaft is mounted on Swiss Made C3
high-speed beal bearings, with the front bearing using a rubber seal to avoid any leaks. All
these exclusive features improve fuel mixture
flow and distribution which means better performance, increased fuel economy and improved lubrication and cooling.
The ABC liner is designed to take advantage
of the improved fuel mixture flow and machined using high-precision CNC machines,
this ensures the highest standards of precision and consistence in production. The conrod is also shaped to take advantage of the
improved mixture flow and is manufactured
using the highest grade aluminum available.
The specially optimized two needle carburetor is another high-precision component. It is
made out of aluminum and composite materials to minimize heat buildup and guarantee
reliable and stable settings.
With the CRF nitro engines, Team Orion brings
you engines which are at the peak of production quality, precision, performance and efficiency. This is why the technology has quickly
become popular among the racers.

CRF 21 Buggy US Spec
The CRF 21 off-road US Spec engine is the result of
extensive testing and development by Adrien Bertin
in conjunction with top racers such as Ryan Cavalieri and Jorn Neumann. With newer light weight 1/8
off-road cars and tracks with very technical layouts,
a motor with a smoother torque characteristics is
required. This is the base requirement that led to de

of an RC car. The CPD regulates the pressure

The glow plug is often overlooked in the overall
