Eleanor Heartney is contributing editor to “Art in America” and
“Artpress” and has written extensively on contemporary art
issues for many other publications. Heartney was the 1992 recipient of the College Art Association’s Frank Jewett Mather Award

Professor Barbara Wally, Dr.phil., born in Salzburg in 1947, studied Romance languages, journalism and art history in Salzburg,
Paris and Florence; 1978–1981 curator at the Kunsthalle Nuremberg; since 1981 manager, since 2000 director of the Salzburg
International Summer Academy of Fine Arts; more than 100 publications in books, catalogues and art periodicals, translated into
several languages; lectures in A, D, I, DK, USA, CZ, PRC, RU.

Kunstgeschichte, Germanistik und Philosophie in Innsbruck und
Wien; 1968 Gründer des „Forum für aktuelle Kunst“ in Innsbruck
(Leitung bis 1979); 1980–1998 Direktor des Frankfurter Kunstvereins;
1998–2001 Direktor des Museums für moderne und zeitgenössische
Kunst Rupertinum in Salzburg; 2001–2005 Direktor der Galleria
d’Arte Moderna in Bologna; zahlreiche Publikationen, u.a. zur Fotografie des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts.
Professor Peter Weiermair, born in Bavaria in 1944, studied art
history, German and philosophy in Innsbruck and Vienna; 1968
founded “Forum für aktuelle Kunst” in Innsbruck (director until
1979); 1980–1998 director, Frankfurt Kunstverein; 1998–2001
director, Rupertinum Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art,
Salzburg; 2001–2005 director, Galleria d’Arte Moderna, Bologna;
publications on numerous topics including 19th- and 20th-century
photography.
