Multidirektionale Winkelstabilität
Die Begriffe unidirektionale und multidirektionale Winkelstabilität gehen auf Prof. Dr. med.
D. Wolter, Hamburg, zurück.
Unter Winkelstabilität versteht man eine
Verbindung zwischen Knochenplatte und
Knochenschraube, bei der die Kontaktflächen
beider Teile unter einem bestimmten Winkel
bewegungsfrei miteinander verbunden sind.
Multidirektionale Winkelstabilität bedeutet,
dass die Schraube stufenlos in beliebig vielen
Achsen in einem 30°-Kegel im Plattenloch
verblockt werden kann. Der Unterschied zu
sogenannten poliaxialen Sytemen beruht
darin, dass diese nur eine begrenzte Anzahl
von Achsen für die Verblockung zur Verfügung
stellen.
Somit erlaubt nur das multidirektionale tifix®Design durch die freie Wahl der Schraubenlage eine einzigartige Variabilität in der Applikation und damit Komfort und Sicherheit für den

Multidirectional locking screw technology
The terms unidirectional and multidirectional
locking screw technology were introduced by
Prof. Dr. med.D. Wolter, Hamburg, Germany.
Multidirectional locking screw technology
means that the screw can be locked in an infinitely variable manner in an unlimited number
of different axes within a 30° cone in the bone
plate. The difference to the so-called polyaxial
systems lies in the fact that the latter provide
only a restricted number of axes in which the
screw can be locked. Locking screw technology is the name given to a connection
between a bone plate and a bone screw that,
up to a definite angle, prohibits relative motion
between the two contact surfaces.
By allowing a free choice of screw positions
the multidirectional tifix® design provides
unique variability permitting matching for each
particular application, and thereby convenience and reliability for the surgeon and - as a
consequence - for the patient. /

seitdem kontinuierlich weiterentwickelt.
Durch die tifix®- Technologie wurde es möglich, multidirektional winkelstabile Platten für alle
Knochenregionen anzubieten.
Das Funktionsprinzip von tifix® besteht darin, dass sich ein spezielles Gewinde auf dem
Schraubenkopf in die Titan-Lippe des Plattenloches einfädelt und sie zu einem Gewinde
umformt. Diese optimierte Gestaltung der Umformzone in Verbindung mit einer geeigneten
Kombination verschiedener Titanwerkstoffe ist
die Basis für eine kraft-, form- und stoffschlüssige Verbindung. Diese weist hohe Stabilität auf
und lässt sich dennoch bei der Materialentfernung problemlos lösen. /

The patented tifix® technology was first launched and marketed in 1993 and since then
has enjoyed continuous optimization.
Through tifix® technology it became possible
to offer multidirectional locking screw plates
for all bone regions.
The functional principle of tifix® is that a
special thread on the screw head is inserted
into the titanium lip provided in the hole in the
plate. Thereby this lip is deformed and becomes a thread. The optimized design of the
deformation zone coupled with an appropriate combination of different titanium materials provides the basis for a non-positively,
positively and integrally established connection. The connection is characterized by high
stability but can nevertheless be released in
