Dear fellow world citizens,
As mayor of the city of Haan I bid you all welcome!
It is very important to the citizens of our city
to make it easier for you to arrive and live in our city.
In recent months many citizens, initiatives and organizations
have teamed up to help you with your integration into everyday life.
This brochure is a kind of guide which should give you a first orientation
in our city and identify important addresses and contacts.
It should help you to integrate in Haan and feel comfortable.
My heartfelt thanks at this point to the Caritas and the „Welcome Guide Project Group“,
a group of dedicated volunteer helpers. Without the great volunteer work of this project
group, there would be no guide.
Please do not hesitate to approach the contact persons mentioned in the brochure
and take advantage of the various offers of different organizations.
I hope that you will acclimatise well in our city.

The cashier‘s checks, which are issued by the Social Assistance Office (Sozialamt) can only be
cashed in the City Savings Bank (Stadt-Sparkasse). You can receive cash for the checks or open
an account. To open an account, you need your residence permit and a registration certificate
(Meldebescheinigung) from the city of Haan. The bank account maintenance fee is € 5.95 / month.
