Topic 43 Antonios Trakatellis (A6 0030/2006) – Community action programme in the field of
Health
On behalf of EU citizens we ask you to vote in favour of amendments 145 and 155.
Amendment 145: adding a new recital: (1g) A holistic and pluralist approach to public health is
necessary and therefore complementary and alternative medicine should be included in the actions
supported by the Programme.
Justification: Self explanatory
Amendment 155: adding to annex 2, point 6, sub-point 6.2:
6.2 Providing other relevant health related knowledge, including the contribution of
Complementary and Alternative Medicine
Justification: Better knowledge about Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) can provide
an important contribution to the ability of citizens to make better informed and responsible choices
about their health.
The following European associations representing patients, doctors and practitioners using complementary medicine urgently ask you to support this
amendment.
