Strategic objectives for Metropolitan Solutions
Cities are the drivers of innovation, and rapid urbanization is continually
reinforcing this role. At the same time, the increasingly urgent need for sweeping
changes to the way cities function is creating exciting market opportunities.
Metropolitan Solutions is a combined conference and exhibition event that
brings together all urban stakeholders at one location, creating Europe’s
No. 1 networking and knowledge-sharing platform for senior decisionmakers from the public sector, industry, science and research.
3
Concept (I)

Companies (well-established and start-ups),
research institutes and cities showcase their
solutions for smarter cities in the exhibition in
all areas relevant for cities.

All conferences taking place during Metropolitan
Solutions are organized by various independent
specialists in their fields. Conferences are either
focusing on certain topics covering the exhibition
areas or on a country/region.

Main USP of the event is the integrated approach by addressing different target groups for
them to learn and share the latest developments in their respective fields by attending a
conference focusing on that field - like they can do somewhere else as well, but: These
experts will be meeting each other in the exhibition to break out of their “silos” to find or
discuss integrated solutions. Matchmaking and conference catering in the exhibition hall will
ensure that this will truly happen.

Partner City program: Benchmark cities act as partner cities of Metropolitan Solutions. In
2015, Lleida/Spain and Vienna benefitted from this status.
4
Concept (II)
 Matchmaking
 EEN (European Enterprise Network) and ICLEI
(with 1,000+ city members) offer matchmaking
programs using an online-matching tool, which
pre-schedules meetings before coming to the
event plus matching people at the event

area stopping at selected exhibitor booths are
offered as well as the participation in excursions
to smart city projects in Berlin
