The intensive transfer between business and science plays a significant part in this. The expansion of the science and research infrastructure has contributed immensely to the economic structural change in Bremen and Bremerhaven. In the past years our State has developed into a globally recognized, powerful science location. Bremen’s universities have made decisive contributions to this development in a multitude of ways. Otto Lamotte Vice President Bremen Chamber of Commerce Jacobs University can look back at a successful development as a talent pool for the German and particularly also for the Bremen-based industry. In view of the expanding internationalization and the associated requirements for qualified employees within the region competencies and qualifications of students are increasingly sought after. The Bremen Chamber of Commerce and Jacobs University have been collaborating in this area for many years. The Jacobs Career Fair provides Bremen’s and international companies with a platform to get to know international students. At the same time students can find out about the different requirements that are important for starting a professional career with these companies. I wish everyone participating in the “Jacobs Career Fair” interesting and beneficial conversations and contacts. Otto Lamotte Vice President Bremen Chamber of Commerce 4 Career Fair 2015 at Jacobs University Program and Catalogue of Exhibitors Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, Jacobs University is a very special place of inspiration. Research and education aren’t restricted to stringent boundaries of single subjects at our university. We focus on topics, not on disciplines, and address these topics from a multitude of different perspectives in order to find sustainable solutions for the challenges of our time. Our students are not educated to be specialists in a single subject but are taught the ability to think beyond the boundaries of their profession benefitting from the broad knowledge and practical experience they have gained during their studies. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Katja Windt President of the Jacobs University Bremen This is of particular importance when addressing problems in the real world – including the work environment. But professional success needs more than just a specialist training. In our opinion, competencies such as team and communication skills, flexibility and entrepreneurial thinking are essential as well. At Jacobs University our students therefore also learn key qualifications they need for a successful start in their job. This is not only a benefit for the young people but also for businesses and organizations. As future employees, our graduates will be highly skilled and well trained for their profession. At our Jacobs Career Fair on February 25, 2015 you can find this out for yourself. Get to know Jacobs University and our students. Find new employees with whom you can shape the future of your company. We are looking forward to meeting you. Over the past two and a half years, TobyRich has been pushing the limits of Bluetooth Smart technology to create surprising breakthrough products. Their faith in the market was substantiated when they developed PowerUp 3.0, a smartphone-controlled paper airplane, and raised over $1.2M at Kickstarter to become an overnight media darling. Since then other companies have partnered with TobyRich with the mission to cut the cord and build connected, wireless, smart gadgets that tickle our fantasies. Now with 6 full-time and 4 part-time employees, TobyRich remains focused. There's a lot of cool tech cooking in our open-plan office in Bremen, Germany.
