Vážení příznivci modulární architektury,
Dear fans of modular architecture,
držíte v rukou první KOMA Bulletin v roce 2015.
Tento rok jsme označili za rok přelomový, neboť nás
v něm čeká celá řada významných událostí. Hlavní
a nejviditelnější akcí pro KOMA bude zcela jistě
otevření českého pavilonu EXPO 2015 v Miláně.
Jsem hrdý na to, jakým způsobem výstavba
pavilonu pokračuje. A jsem také hrdý na to, že
modulární KOMA systém dokazuje právě na tak
významné akci, jakou světová výstava EXPO je, o jak
kvalitní a výhodnou výstavbu jde. I proto je Česká
republika jednou z prvních zemí, která výstavbu
pavilonu dokončila.
in your hands you are holding the first issue of
the KOMA Bulletin for 2015. This year will be a
breakthrough year for us, as we face a number of
significant events. The main and most visible of
them will undoubtedly be the opening of the Czech
pavilion at the EXPO 2015 in Milan. I am proud of
the way its construction has been going, and I am
also proud of the fact that at such a major event
the KOMA modular system is proving the quality
and advantages of modular construction. Also for
this reason, the Czech Republic is one of the first
countries to have finished its pavilion.
Další významnou událostí bude festival ModulArch,
který proběhne v dubnu a jehož hlavní hvězdou
bude špičkový chilský architekt Sebastián
Irarrázaval. Jeho účast na dubnovém festivalu
v Brně bude skutečnou událostí. Dovolte, abych vás
na tuto akci srdečně pozval.
Another significant event will be the ModulArch
festival, which will be held in April and whose main
star will be the leading Chilean architect Sebastián
Irarrázaval. His participation in the April festival in
Brno will be a truly important event. Allow me to
invite you to this festival.
V roce 2015 nás však nečekají jen tyto dvě akce.
KOMA dále pokračuje v trojsměnném provozu,
pracuje na významných zakázkách jak v České
republice, tak v Evropě, a očekává další výzvy, které
ji v přelomovém roce 2015 čekají. Tyto nové výzvy
nás stále nutí k novým inovacím a posouvají tak
firmu stále dál. Děkujeme všem za spolupráci.
However, what lies ahead of us in 2015 is much
more than just these two events. KOMA continues in
its three-shift operation; it is working on significant
contracts in both the Czech Republic and Europe,
and looks forward to the other challenges it is going
to face in 2015. These new challenges constantly
compel us to come up with new innovations and
push our company further ahead. I want to thank
everyone for their cooperation.

Sehr geehrte Anhänger der Modul-Architektur,
Sie halten das erste KOMA Bulletin für das Jahr
2015 in Ihren Händen. Dieses Jahr haben wir als
bahnbrechend bezeichnet, weil uns eine Reihe
bedeutender Ereignisse erwartet. Die Haupt- und
sichtbarste Aktion für KOMA wird bestimmt die
Eröffnung des tschechischen Pavillons der EXPO
2015 in Mailand. Ich bin stolz darauf, wie der
Aufbau des Pavillons weitergeht. Und ich bin auch
stolz darauf, dass das Modulsystem KOMA gerade
bei so einer bedeutenden Aktion, welche die Weltausstellung EXPO ist, beweist, um was für einen
qualitativen und vorteilhaften Ausbau es geht.
Auch deswegen ist die Tschechische Republik eines
der ersten Länder, das den Aufbau abgeschlossen
hat.
Ein weiteres bedeutendes Ereignis wird das Festival
ModulArch, das im April stattfindet und dessen
Hauptstar der chilenische Spitzenarchitekt Sebastian Irarrazaval ist. Seine Teilnahme am Aprilfestival
in Brünn wird ein wahres Ereignis. Erlauben Sie,
dass ich Sie auf diese Aktion herzlichst einlade.
Im Jahr 2015 erwarten uns aber nicht nur diese
beiden Aktionen. KOMA fährt in der Schichtarbeit fort, arbeitet an bedeutenden Aufträgen in
der Tschechischen Republik als auch in Europa,
und erwartet weitere Herausforderungen, die sie
im Durchbruchsjahr 2015 erwarten. Diese neuen
Herausforderungen zwingen uns zu neuen Innovationen und schieben somit die Firma immer weiter
voran.

O tom, že je v západní Evropě modulární výstavba
naprosto běžným a respektovaným stavebním
systémem, jehož nejvýznamnější výhodou je
rychlost, nemusíme na těchto stránkách nikoho
přesvědčovat. Přesto je zakázka výroby a výstavby
startovacích bytů v Paříži pro KOMA významnou
a reprezentativní referencí, neboť tu jde o první
formu spolupráce s francouzským developerem.
Jedná se o pilotní modulární dům sloužící jako
komfortní vysokoškolské koleje nebo jako dočasné
apartmánové bydlení. „Francouzští partneři naši
společnost vnímají pozitivně i díky tomu, že jsme před
nedávnem realizovali třípodlažní administrativní
budovu pro francouzskou energetickou společnost
Areva. Tím jsme si udělali ve Francii jméno,a proto
jsme byli osloveni po doporučení francouzské
architektonické kanceláře Sleeper Line, která
se modulární výstavbou zabývá,“ vysvětluje
marketingový ředitel KOMA Martin Hart.
V únoru 2015 navštívili architekti a developeři
z Paříže výrobní halu KOMA ve Vizovicích, kde byl
prototyp bytu umístěn. „Investoři byli spokojeni.
I proto bychom měli vyrobit další desítky bytů,“
přibližuje Martin Hart.
Důvěry si KOMA velmi váží a nezklame ji, neboť
výzvy byly pro KOMA vždy energií do další práce.

There is no need to convince anyone reading
this bulletin of the fact that in Western Europe
modular construction is a common and respected
construction system, whose main advantage is
speed. Despite this fact, the order for the production
and construction of start-up apartments in Paris is
a significant and prestigious reference for KOMA,
as it is the first form of cooperation with a French
developer.
Darüber, dass in Westeuropa der Modul-Ausbau ein
absolut geläufiges und respektiertes Bausystem ist,
dessen bedeutendstes Vorteil die Schnelligkeit ist,
müssen wir auf diesen Seiten niemanden überzeugen. Trotzdem ist der Auftrag der Herstellung und
des Ausbaus der Startwohnungen in Paris für KOMA
eine bedeutende und representative Referenz, denn
es geht hier um die erste Form der Zusammenarbeit
mit dem französischen Developer. Es handelt sich um
ein Pilot-Modulhaus, das als komfortables Uni-Studentenwohnheim dient oder als zeitweilige Apartmentwohnung. „Die französischen Partner nehmen
unser Unternehmen auch deshalb positiv wahr, weil wir
vor kurzem das Dreietagen-Administrativgebäude für
die französische Energiegesellschaft Areva realisierten.
Dadurch machten wir uns in Frankreich einen Namen,
und deshalb wurden wir nach der Empfehlung der französischen Architekturkanzlei Sleeper Line, die sich mit
Modul-Ausbau beschäftigt, angesprochen,“ erklärt der
Marketingdirektor KOMA Martin Hart.

apartment housing. “Our French partners view our
company positively also because we have recently
realized a 3-storey administrative building for the
French energy company Areva. After making a name
for ourselves in France, we were approached based on
the recommendation by the French architectural office
Sleeper Line, which deals with modular construction,”
explains KOMA’s Marketing Director, Martin Hart.
In 2015, the Parisian architects and developers
visited KOMA’s production hall in Vizovice, where
the prototype of the apartment was on display.
“The investors were satisfied, and therefore we should
produce dozens more of these apartments,” adds
Martin Hart.
KOMA values the trust its customers puts in it and
will not let them down, because challenges have
always been a source of energy for our work.

Vizovice, wo sich das Prototyp befand. „Die Investoren
waren zufrieden. Auch deshalb sollten wir dutzende weitere Wohnungen herstellen,“ erläutert Martin Hart.
KOMA schätzt Vertrauen sehr und wird es nicht enttäuschen, denn Herausforderungen waren für KOMA
immer eine Energie für weitere Arbeit.

Český pavilon je díky superrychlé výstavbě modulárním systémem KOMA jedním z prvních, kde už
probíhají práce v interiéru spojené s výmalbou. Je
také jako první osazen venkovní fasádou, přičemž
již na konci ledna byla zahájena instalace prvního
uměleckého díla, jímž je kinetická plastika Maxima
Velčovského.
„Oceňujeme nadšení pro projekt a flexibilitu společnosti KOMA. Kdybychom nevyužili tuto spolupráci,
určitě bychom neměli pavilon na výstavišti hotov
jako první,“ vysvětluje generální komisař české účasti na EXPO 2015 Jiří F. Potužník. Ředitel výstavby
českého pavilonu Ladislav Slámečka ze společnosti
KOMA generálního sekretáře s úsměvem doplňuje:
„Je zajímavé vidět, jak ostatní země vyřizují povolení
k vjezdu pro domíchávače a betonové pumpy, zatímco
my řešíme vjezdy pro firmy osazující skleněné stěny
a umělecké předměty.“
V průběhu února byla v českém pavilonu dokončena výmalba, osazení svítidel a dveřních křídel,
pokládka podlahoviny a spolupráce na instalacích
uměleckých děl a expozic. Jedněmi z posledních
aktivit byly dovoz modulu baru, oživení bazénu
a usazení soch do venkovních prostor a do bazénu.
V průběhu dubna 2015 se budou instalovat specifické expozice unikátního českého lesa. V Institutu
intermédií ČVUT, kde instalace vzniká, nyní roste
zcela funkční lesní biotop. Rostliny jsou osázené
do bílých futuristických květníků amorfních tvarů,
atmosféru lesa evokuje šumění listí a cvrkot hmyzu.
Dění v lese snímají v reálném čase miniaturní
kamery. V počítači se živý stream obohacuje o prvky
rozšířené reality, popis a informace o rostlinách
a promítá se na velkou projekční plochu. „Cílem je
dosažení co nejjednoduššího sdělení a silného emocionálního zážitku.“ přibližuje Jan K. Rolník, vedoucí
expozice Českého lesa.
Modulární český pavilon tak světu ukáže nejen
unikátní expozice uvnitř, ale tím, že je sám vybudován z modulů, které po skončení výstavy budou
recyklovány a získají nové využití, je sám o sobě
jednou z expozic.
Thanks to the super-fast KOMA modular
construction, the Czech pavilion is one of the first
pavilions whose interior is already being worked
on and painted. It was also the first pavilion to have
its exterior facade installed, and already at the end
of January the installation of the first work of art,
kinetic plastic art by Maxim Velčovský, began.
“We appreciate the KOMA Company’s enthusiasm
for the project and their flexibility. Had we not taken
advantage of this cooperation, we certainly would
not have been the first country to finish its pavilion
on the EXPO grounds,” explains Jiří F. Potužník,
General Commissioner for the participation of the
Czech Republic at EXPO 2015. The Czech pavilion’s
Construction Director, Ladislav Slámečka from the
KOMA Company, adds: “It’s interesting to see other
contractors procuring entry permits for cement trucks
and pumps, while we are dealing with paperwork on
behalf of companies coming to install glass partitions
and artistic items.”
In February, the interior painting, installation of
the light fixtures, doors and floors and cooperation
on the installation of art work and exhibits were
finished. The latest activities included bringing the
bar module, getting the pool ready and installing
the statues in the pool and the surrounding areas.
In April 2015, the unique Bohemian Forest
exhibition will be installed. A perfectly functional
forest biotope is being created at the Institute of
Intermedia of the Czech Technical University.
The plants are planted in futuristic white pots of
amorphous shapes, and a forest atmosphere is
evoked by the sound of rustling leaves and chirping
insects. Forest life is captured in real time by
miniature cameras. Using computer technology, the
live stream is enhanced by an augmented reality
component, a description and information about
the plants, and projected onto a large screen. “Our
aim is to deliver the simplest communication possible
and a strong emotional experience.” says exhibition
leader, Jan K. Rolník.
The modular Czech pavilion will show the world
not only the unique exhibits inside, but the
pavilion, having been constructed from modules
that will be recycled and reused, is itself one of the
exhibits.
Der tschechische Pavillon ist dank dem superschnellen Ausbau durch das Modulsystem KOMA eines
der ersten, in dem bereits Arbeiten am Interieur
verbunden mit dem Anstrich stattfinden. Er ist auch
als erster mit einer Außenfassade versehen, wobei
bereits am Ende Januar die Installation des ersten
Kunstwerkes, der kinetischen Plastik von Maxim
Velčovský, begann.
„Wir schätzten die Begeisterung am Projekt und die
Flexibilität der Gesellschaft KOMA. Wenn wir diese
Zusammenarbeit nicht genutzt hätten, wäre unser
Pavillon bestimmt nicht als erster am Ausstellungsplatz fertig,“ erklärt der Generalkomisar der tschechischen Teilnahme an der EXPO 2015 Jiří F. Potužník.

fügt dem Generalsekretär mit einem Lächeln hinzu:
„Es ist interessant zu sehen, wie die anderen Länder
Genehmigungen für das Anfahren von Betonmischern
und Betonpumpen beschaffen, während wir das
Anfahren von Unternehmen regeln, die die Glaswände
und die Kunstobjekte aufstellen.“
Im Februar wurde im tschechischen Pavillon der
Anstrich beendet, die Beleuchtung und die Türen
wurden installiert, der Fußboden verlegt und die
Zusammenarbeit an der Installierung der Kunst-
werke und der Expositionen abgeschlossen. Die
letzten Aktivitäten waren die Anfahrt des Moduls
der Bar, die Belebung des Schwimmbeckens und das
festsetzten der Statuen in die Außenbereiche und in
das Becken.
Im April 2015 werden spezifische Expositionen
des unikalen tschechischen Waldes installiert. Im
Institut der Intermedien ČVUT, wo die Installation
entsteht, wächst nun ein völlig funktionsfähiges
Waldbiotop. Planzen sind in weißen futuristischen
Töpfen amorpher Formen gepflanzt, die Atmosphäre des Waldes evoziert das Rascheln von Blättern
und das Summen der Käfer. Das Geschehen im
Wald nehmen Miniaturkameras in realer Zeit auf.
Im Computer wird das Lifestream bereichert um
Elemente der erweiterten Realität, die Beschreibung
und die Informationen über die Pflanzen und es
wird auf eine große Leinwand projiziert. „Ziel ist das
Erreichen der einfachsten Mitteilung und eines starken
emotionalen Erlebnisses.“ erläutert Jan K. Rolík, der
Leiter der Exposition Tschechischer Wald.
Der tschechische Modulpavillon zeigt der Welt nicht
nur unikale Expositionen drinnen, aber dadurch,
dass er selbst aus Modulen gebaut ist, die nach der
Ausstellung recycelt werden und eine neue Verwendung finden, ist er selbst eine der Expositionen.

Jak vypadá moderní modulární architektura ve
světě? To zjistíme v Brně na festivalu ModulArch
2015, který ve spolupráci s Moravskou galerií
v Brně, Stavebními veletrhy v Brně a občanským
sdružením ARCH FOR PEOPLE pořádá KOMA,
která je zároveň generálním partnerem akce.
„Modulární věž pro Brno“, který se uskuteční
od 23. do 25. 4. 2015 ve spolupráci s FAST VUT
Brno v prostorách Moravské galerie. Workshop
bude zkoumat maximální možnosti modulární
architektury a je otevřen studentům všech
architektonických škol v ČR.
What does modern modular architecture in the
world look like? That we will find out at the
ModulArch 2015 festival, organized by KOMA in
cooperation with the Moravian Gallery in Brno, the
Building Fairs in Brno and the ARCH FOR PEOPLE
association. KOMA is also the event’s main partner.

CONFERENCE
Součástí festivalu bude celodenní mezioborová
konference 23. 4. 2015, jež je zařazena do
odborného programu Stavebního veletrhu v Brně.
Hlavní hvězdou konference i celého festivalu bude
chilský architekt Sebastián Irarrázaval – jedna
z výrazných postav jihoamerické architektonické
scény. Architekt Irarrázaval vystavoval například na
bienále v Benátkách, kromě vlastní architektonické
praxe vyučoval na MIT, University of Arizona
a v současnosti vede ateliér na Pontificia
Universidad Católica de Chile. Sebastiána
Irarrázavala doplní odborníci jak z České republiky,
tak ze zahraničí. V programu se řečníci dotknou
jak samotné technologie modulární výstavby,
tak urbanismu či možností využití modulární
architektury k oživení veřejného prostoru.
V procesu popularizace modulární architektury
se již dříve KOMA velmi osvědčilo vypisování
studentských architektonických soutěží. Ideová
soutěž v rámci festivalu tak navazuje na tradici
studentských soutěží z minulých let a je určena
studentům a absolventům architektonických škol
do 5 let po absolvování.
Part of the festival is to be an interdisciplinary conference on April 23, 2015, which has been included
in the specialized program of the International
Building Festival in Brno. The main star of the
conference and the entire festival will be the Chilean
architect Sebastián Irarrázaval – one of the most
prominent figures on the South American architectural scene. Sebastián Irarrázaval had an exhibition
at the Venice Biennale; apart from his own architectural practice he taught at MIT, the University of Arizona and currently leads an atelier at the Pontificia
Universidad Católica de Chile. Sebastián Irarrázaval will appear together with experts from both the
Czech Republic and abroad. In the program, the
speakers will touch on the technology of modular
architecture itself, urbanism and the possibility of
using modular architecture to enliven public spaces.

Uceleným výstupem by měla být publikace,

hodnotou.

modulární architektury. Nikdo, koho toto téma

/ The ModulARCH 2015 festival of
modular architecture
WORKSHOP
Together with his fellow Chilean, Ximena
García-Huidobro, architect Sebastián Irarrázaval
will lead a 3-day student workshop at the Moravian Gallery on the topic of “Modular tower for
Brno”, held on April 23-25, 2015 and organized in
cooperation with the Faculty of Civil Engineering of
the Brno University of Technology. The workshop
will study the maximum possibilities of modular
architecture and is open to students from all schools
of architecture in the Czech Republic.
Wie sieht die moderne Modul-Architektur auf der
Welt aus? Das finden wir in Brünn auf dem Festival
ModulArch 2015 heraus, den in der Zusammenarbeit mit der Mährischen Galerie in Brünn, derBaumesse in Brünn und dem Bürgerverein ARCH
FOR PEOPLE, KOMA veranstaltet, die gleichzeitig
Generalpartner der Aktion ist.
ARCHITECTURAL COMPETITION
Bestandteil des Festivals wird eine ganztägige
zwischenfachliche Konferenz am 23. 4. 2015 sein,
die in das Fachprogramm der Baumesse in Brünn
eingegliedert ist. Der Hauptstar der Konferenz und
des ganzen Festivals ist der chilenische Architekt
Sebastian Irarrazaval - eine markante Persönlichkeit
der südamerikanischen architektonischen Szene.
Der Architekt Irarrazaval stellte zum Beispiel auf
dem Biennale in Venedig aus, außer eigener architektonischer Praxis unterrichtete er auch am MIT,
der Universität von Arizona und zur Zeit führt er
das Atelier an der Pontificia Universidad Católica de
Chile. Sabastian Irarrazaval wird von Fachmännern
aus der Tschechischen Republik als auch aus dem
Ausland ergänzt. In dem Programm sprechen die
Redner über die Technologie des Modul-Ausbaus
an sich, als auch über Urbanismus oder über die
Möglichkeit der Nutzung der Modul-Architektur
zur Belebung der öffentlichen Flächen.
Organizing student architectural competitions has
proven to be effective in the process of popularization of modular architecture. The competition of
ideas, organized as part of the festival, follows up on
the tradition of student competitions from previous
years and is intended for students and graduates of
schools of architecture within 5 years of graduating.
PROCEEDINGS OF THE FESTIVAL
A comprehensive output of the festival should be a
publication which will offer the community of experts not only a summary of all the important topics
from the festival, but also specialized reviewed
papers with added scientific value.
April 2015 in Brno will be all about modular architecture. Everyone interested in this topic should not

KONFERENZ
WORKSHOP
Architekt Irarrazaval führt außerdem mit seiner
Landsfrau der Architektin Ximena Garcia-Huidobro
einen dreitägigen Studentenworkshop mit dem
Thema „Modul-Turm für Brünn“, der am 23. bis
25.4.2015 mit der Zusammenarbeit des FAST VUT
Brünn in den Räumlichkeiten der Mährischen Galerie stattfindet. Der Workshop wird die maximalen
Möglichkeiten der Modul-Architektur untersuchen
und ist für Studenten aller Architekturschulen in
der Tschechischen Republik geöffnet.
ARCHITEKTONISCHER WETTBEWERB
Bei der Popularisierung der Modul-Architektur
machte sich schon früher für KOMA das Ausschreiben von Studenten-Achitektur-Wettbewerben sehr
bewährt.
Der Ideenwettbewerb im Rahmen des Festivals bindet so an die Tradition der Studenten-Wettbewerbe
aus den vergangenen Jahren an und ist für Studenten und Absolventen der Architektur Schulen
bis zu 5 Jahren nach dem Abschluss bestimmt.
SAMMELBAND DES FESTIVALS
Eine einheitliche Ausgabe sollte eine Publikation
sein, die der Fachöffentlichkeit nicht nur eine Zusammenfassung des wichtigsten aus dem Festival,
sondern auch fachliche rezensierte Beiträge mit
erweitertem wissenschaftlichen Wert.
Der April in Brünn wird also im Zeichen der
Modul-Architektur stehen. niemand, der sich für
dieses Thema interessiert, sollte sich dieses Festival

Architekt Irarrázaval se dlouhodobě věnuje jak
navrhování z modulů, tak i recyklaci námořních
kontejnerů. Svou tvorbou dokazuje, že kontejnerová

Studio Sebastián Irarrázaval Architects působí od
roku 1993 v Santiagu de Chile, jeho projekty se
pohybují od rodinného bydlení přes hotely a kanceláře po stavby pro vzdělávání. Realizace studia jsou
pravidelně publikovány v odborných médiích po
celém světě. Studio nedávno získalo ocenění People
Choice na Bi-City bienále urbanismu a architektury
v Hongkongu a Šen-čenu.
Sebastián Irarrázaval v roce 1999 obdržel cenu
Asociace architektonických kanceláří (AOA) pro nejlepšího mladého architekta. Kromě architektonické
praxe vyučuje od roku 1994 na Škole architektury
Katolické univerzity v Chile, působil na Arizonské univerzitě, na Centrální univerzitě Venezuely
v Caracasu, na Massachusettském technologickém
institutu v Bostonu a na Vyšší škole architektury
v Benátkách (UIAV).
The architect Sebastián Irarrázaval has long devoted himself to designing structures from modules
as well as recycling shipping containers. His work
proves that container construction can be untraditional, functional, fit for living and esthetically
appealing. His two modular houses, Casa Oruga and
a school in Retiro, appeared on the a+u magazine’s
short list of the 25 most interesting recent projects
in Latin America.

Společnost KOMA dodala moduly pro objekt
nízkoprahového centra, které je součástí parku
Hvězdička. Budova je umístěna v problematické
lokalitě brněnského Cejlu, v těsné blízkosti Muzea
romské kultury. V rámci parku bude centrum
sloužit k provozování mimoškolních aktivit romské
mládeže a sociální integraci romské komunity.
Provozovat ho budou různé neziskové organizace.
The KOMA Company supplied modules for the
building of a low-threshold center, which is part of
the Hvězdička park. The building is situated in the
problematic Cejl area in Brno, near to the Museum
of Roma Culture. Its aim is to offer after-school
activities for Roma youth and social integration of
the Roma community. It will be run by various nonprofit organizations.
Modulární řešení společnosti KOMA bylo vybráno
s ohledem na dočasnost stavby, finanční možnosti
investora, i vzhledem k možnosti přemístění
jednotlivých modulů. Samozřejmou a klíčovou
vlastností je také velmi krátká doba výroby
a výstavby modulárního objektu.
The modular solution from the KOMA Company
was chosen because of the temporary character of
the building, the investor’s financial constraints
as well as the possibility of relocating individual
modules. An obvious and key characteristic of the
modular building is its very short production and
construction period.
Die Gesellschaft KOMA lieferte die Module für das
Niederflurzentrum, das Teil des Parks Hvězdička ist.
Das Gebäude ist in einer problematischen Lokalität
des brünner Cejl, in direkter nähe des Museums für
Roma-Kultur. Im Rahmen des Parks wird das Zentrum
zur Betreibung von außerschulischen Aktivitäten der
Roma-Jugend und zur sozialen Integration der Roma-Kommunität. Betrieben wird es von verschiedenen
gemeinnützigen Organisationen.

Der Architekt Irarrazaval widmet sich langzeitig dem
Entwerfen aus Modulen, als auch der Wiederverwertung von Marine-Containern. Durch seine Schaffung
beweist er, dass ein Containerbau untraditionell,
funktionsfähig, zum Leben geeignet und ästhetisch
interessant sein kann.
The Sebastián Irarrázaval Architects studio has been
operating in Santiago de Chile since 1993, and its
projects range from family housing, hotels, offices
to educational buildings. The studio’s realizations
are regularly published in specialized media all over
the world. The studio recently received the People’s
Choice Award at the Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism
and Architecture in Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
Seine zwei Modulhäuser, Casa Oruga und die Schule
in Retiro, gehören zur Auswahl der 25 interessantesten
jetzigen Bauten von Südamerika des Magazins a+u.
Das Studio Sebastian Irarrazaval Architects wirkt seit
1993 in Santiago de Chile, seine Projekte reichen vom
Familienwohnen über Hotels und Büros bis zu Bildungsbauten. Die Realisierungen des Studios werden
regelmäßig publiziert in Fachmedien auf der ganzen
Welt. Das Studio erhielt vor kurzem den People Choise
Preis auf dem Bi-City Biennale des Urbanismus und
der Architektur in Hongkong und Schen-Chen.
In 1999, Sebastián Irarrázaval received the AOA
(Architecture Offices Association) Award for the best
young architect. Apart from his architectural practice, since 1994 he has taught at the School of Architecture of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile,
he taught at the University of Arizona, the Central
University of Venezuela in Caracas, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston and the UIAV
University of Venice Faculty of Architecture.
Sebastian Irarrazaval erhielt im Jahr 1999 den Preis
der Assoziation der architektonischen Kanzleien
(AOA) für den besten jungen Architekten. Außer
seiner Architekten-Praxis unterrichtet er seit 1994 an
der Architekturschule der katholischen Universität
in Chile, er wirkte an der Arizona Universität, an der
Zentraluniversität von Venezuela in Caracas, an dem
Massachusetts technologischem Institut in Boston und
an der Hochschule für Architektur in Venedig (UIAV).
Architekti Robert Sládeček a Radko Květ budovu
rozdělili na dvě podlaží, kde děti a dospívající
z širokého okolí najdou různorodé zázemí. Budova
je obklopena parkem vhodným pro sportovní
vyžití i odpočinek a nabízí tak návštěvníkům centra
komplexní volnočasové vyžití.
V rámci zapojení místní komunity budou stěny
centra barevně dořešeny během uměleckých
workshopů, čímž investor nabídne samotným
uživatelům vizuální úpravu modulů dle jejich
vlastní představy. Z modulů tak vzniká objekt
s velkým potenciálem pro celou komunitu Cejlu.
Architects Robert Sládeček and Radko Květ have
divided the building into two storeys for use by
both children and adults from the community. The
building is surrounded by a park that is suitable for
both sports activities and relaxation, and thus offers
visitors a variety of free time activities.
As part of the involvement of the local community,
painting of the center’s walls will be done during
art workshops, the investor allowing the users to
visually modify the modules according to their
imagination. The modules are thus turning into a
building with a great potential for the entire Cejl
community.
Die Modul-Lösung der Gesellschaft KOMA wurde mit
Hinsicht auf die Zeitweiligkeit des Baus, die finanziellen Möglichkeiten des Investors und auch mit
Hinsicht auf die Möglichkeit des Verlegens einzelner
Module gewählt. Eine selbstverständliche und Schlüssel-Eigenschaft ist auch die kurze Herstellungs- und
Aufbauzeit des Modulobjektes.
Die Architekten Robert Sládeček und Radko Květ
teilten das Gebäude in zwei Stockwerke ein, in denen
Kinder und Jugendliche aus der weiten Umgebung ein
vielfältiges Umfeld finden. Das Gebäude ist umringt
von einem für Sport und fürs Ausruhen geeignetem
Park und es bietet somit den Besuchern des Zentrums
eine komplexe Freizeitnutzung. Im Rahmen des
Eingliederns der hiesigen Kommunität werden die
Wände während künstlerischer Workshops farblich
fertig gestellt, womit der Investor den Nutzern selbst
die Möglichkeit der visuellen Gestaltung der Module
nach ihrer eigenen Vorstellung bietet. Aus dem Modul
entsteht somit ein Objekt mit großem Potenzial für die
ganze Kommunität des Cejls.

Občanské sdružení „K světu“ propagovalo v rámci
slavnostního zahájení působení Plzně jako
evropského města kultury pro rok 2015 modulární
architekturu v našem CITY modulu. Sdružení
představilo své současné projekty jako PechaKucha,
Koloběžky nebo Náplavka, ale i projekty plánované,
např. Svátek modulární architektury, v jehož rámci
ve spolupráci KOMA a K světu vzniknou společné
2 až 3 projekty trvalých modulárních staveb.
KOMA díky svým atypickým CITY modulům
opět dokazuje, že kvalitní drobná modulární
architektura umí městský prostor oživit a ozvláštnit
svým unikátním a variabilním designem.
As part of the festive opening ceremony of Pilsen
– European Capital of Culture 2015, the civic
association K světu (To the World) promoted
modular architecture in our CITY module. The
association introduced its current projects, such
as PechaKucha, Scooters and the River Bank, as
well as future projects, e.g., the Day of Modular
Architecture, which will give rise to 2 or 3 projects of
permanent modular buildings in cooperation with
KOMA and To the World. Thanks to its atypical CITY
modules, KOMA once again proves that quality
small-scale architecture can enliven public spaces
and make them more appealing through its unique
and variable design.
Der Bürgerverein „K světu“(zur Welt) propagierte,
im Rahmen der festlichen Eröffnung von Pilsen als
europäische Kulturstadt für das Jahr 2015, die Modularchitektur in unserem CITY Modul. Der Verein
stellte seine jetzigen Projekte vor, wie PechaKucha,
Koloběžky (Roller) oder Náplavka aber auch geplante Projekte, z.B. Das Fest der Modul-Architektur in
dessen Rahmen in Zusammenarbeit mit KOMA und
K světu 2 bis 3 gemeinsame Projekte von dauerhaften Modulbauten entstehen. KOMA beweist wieder
einmal dank ihren atypischen CITY Modellen, dass
kleine Modul-Architektur den Stadtraum beleben
und interessant machen kann durch ihr unikales
und variables Design.
Jednou z nejnovějších KOMA realizací je vrátnice
a podniková prodejna firmy LINEA NIVNICE.
Výrobce ovocných šťáv a nápojů značky HELLO si
KOMA systém vybral zejména díky skvělé pověsti
a rozsáhlému portfoliu referencí. Modulární
stavba sestává ze sedmi modulů řady ComfortLine
o rozloze téměř 227 m2, se světlou výškou 3 m
a betonovými podlahami, ve kterých je zabudováno
podlahové topení, a se zatížením až 1000 kg/m2.
Kromě prodejních prostor a vrátnice se v budově
nacházejí i šatny pro zaměstnance s kuchyňkou
a zázemím. Fasáda je z vodorovného vlnitého
plechu, který je vysoce praktickou a finančně
vstřícnou variantou opláštění.
One of the latest KOMA realizations is the gatehouse
and company shop for the LINEA NIVNICE Company. This producer of fruit juices and beverages
under the HELLO brand chose the KOMA system
mainly due to its excellent reputation and extensive
portfolio of references. The modular construction
consists of seven ComfortLine modules covering an
area of almost 227 sq. meters with a ceiling height
of 3 meters and concrete floors with radiant heating
and a maximum load of 1,000 kg/m2. Apart from
the shop and gatehouse, there are also employee
changing rooms with a kitchenette and facilities.
The facade is made of horizontal corrugated sheet
metal, a highly practical and affordable exterior
cladding option.
Eine der neuesten KOMA Realisierungen ist die
Pforte des Unternehmensgeschäftes der Firma LINEA
NIVNICE. Der Hersteller von Obstsaft und der Getränke der Marke HELLO suchte sich KOMA System
vor allem dank seiner großartigen Reputation und
seinem breiten Portfolio aus. Der Modulbau setzt
sich aus sieben Modulen der Reihe ComfortLine von
einer Fläche von fast 227 m2 zusammen, einer hellen
Höhe von 3 m und mit Betonböden, in denen eine
Bodenheizung eingebaut ist und mit einer Belastung
von bis zu 1000 kg/m2. Außer der Verkaufsfläche und
der Pforte befinden sich im Gebäude auch Umkleiden für Angestellte mit einer Küche und Umfeld.
Die Fassade ist aus horizontalem Wellblech, das eine
höhst praktische und finanziell vorteilhafte Variante
der Ummantelung ist.

Projekt PechaKucha [pečakuča] vymysleli a uvedli
v život v roce 2003 v Tokiu architekti Astrid Klein
a Mark Dytham, zakladatelé architektonického
studia Klein Dytham Architecture. Jejich záměrem
bylo vytvořit prostor pro setkávání architektů,
designérů, grafiků a dalších umělců na jednom
místě v jednom čase. Nyní se veleúspěšný projekt
dostal i do Plzně, kde o něj byl tak veliký zájem, že
diváci zaplnili celé Velké divadlo. Mezi řečníky byl
na konci listopadu 2014 i ředitel KOMA Stanislav
Martinec. To, že byla KOMA vyzvána k účasti
na tomto druhu akce, vnímáme jako to nejlepší
ocenění naší práce.
The PechaKucha project was devised and brought to
life in 2003 in Tokyo by the architects Astrid Klein
and Mark Dytham, founders of the Klein Dytham
Architecture studio. Their intention was to create
a place for architects, designers, graphic designers
and other artists to meet. Now the successful project
has moved to Pilsen, where it was so popular that
it filled up the entire Great Theater. The speakers in
late November 2014 even included KOMA’s Managing Director, Stanislav Martinec. The fact that KOMA
was invited to take part in this kind of event is the
best recognition of our work.
Das Projekt PechaKucha dachten sich die Architekten
Astrid Klein und Mark Dytgam, die Gründer des architektonischen Studios Klein Dytham Architecture,
in Tokyo aus und brachten es zum Leben. Ihr Ziel
war es einen Platz zu erschaffen für das Treffen von
Architekten, Designern, Graphikern und weiteren
Künstlern auf einem Platz zur selben Zeit. Jetzt kam
dieses megaerfolgreiche Projekt auch nach Pilsen, wo
es um dieses so ein großes Interesse gab, dass die Zuschauer das ganze Große Theater füllten. Unter den
Rednern war ende November 2014 auch der KOMA
Direktor Stanislav Martinec. Das KOMA zur Teilnahme an so einer Art von Aktion gebeten wurde, empfinden wir als die beste Bewertung unserer Arbeit.

projekt Školy pro svět. Reakce všech účastníků
byly důkazem, že USA je zemí otevřenou všemu
novému. Zástupce organizací ve skupině Světové
banky, Meziamerické rozvojové banky a vládní
Millennium Challenge Corporation zkušenosti
KOMA z realizací modulárních školek a škol
v Evropě zaujaly. Slova „To jsem ještě neslyšel, chci
vědět více,“ jsou pro pilotní projekt KOMA Space více
než dobrým startem.
In the USA, the potential of modular construction
has been utilized very little so far. Therefore, the Director of KOMA Space, Martina Konecká, and KOMA
Modular’s Managing Director, Stanislav Martinec,
introduced in the USA the Schools for the World
project. The response from all the participants was
proof of the fact that the USA is a country that’s open
to new ideas. The representatives of World Bank
organizations, the Inter-American Development
Bank and the government’s Millennium Challenge
Corporation were interested in KOMA’s experience
with realizations of modular kindergartens and
schools in Europe. The words “I haven’t heard about
this before; I want to know more,” are more than a
good start for KOMA Space’s pilot project.
In den USA wird das Potenzial des Modul-Ausbaus
bis jetzt sehr wenig genutzt. Die Direktorin für KOMA
Space Martina Konecká und der Handelsvertreter von
KOMA Modular Stanislav Martinec stellten deshalb in
den USA das Pilotprojekt Schulen für die Welt vor. Die
Reaktionen aller Teilnehmer bewiesen, das die USA
offen für alles Neue sind. Vertreter der Organisationen
in der Gruppe Weltbanken, Zwischenamerikanische
Entwicklungsbanken und die Regierungs Millennium
Challenge Corporation beeindruckten die Erfahrungen
von KOMA in der Realisation von Modul-Kindergärten und Schulen in Europa. Worte wie „Das habe ich
noch nicht gehört, ihr will mehr erfahren,“ sind für das
Pilot-Projekt KOMA Space ein mehr als guter Start.

Rezeption
At the end of last year, the long awaited extension to
the KOMA administrative building on the company’s premises in Vizovice and the comprehensive
interior redesign of the reception were quickly carried out. The Marketing, Domestic Sales and Design
Departments now finally have sufficiently spacious
offices. Along with the construction of new administrative premises, we also remodelled the reception,
which underwent a major redesign in line with the
spirit of the entire KOMA corporation – a modern,
innovative and attractive architectural solution
which respects the corporate identity. Now we look
forward to visitors to KOMA even more!
Am Ende des letzten Jahres wurde blitzschnell der lang
avisierte Zubau des Administrativgebäudes KOMA im
Areal Vizovice und eine komplexe Interieur Umgestaltung der Rezeption durchgeführt. Die Abteilung des
Marketings, der hiesigen Geschäfte und die Abteilung
für Konstruktion bekamen also endlich großzügige
Büros mit genügend Raum. Bei dem Bau der neuen
administrativen Räumlichkeiten wurde auch die
Rezeption neu gestaltet, wobei es zu bedeutenden
Veränderungen kam und das Interieurdesign ist im
Geiste der ganzen KOMA Korporation konzipiert - eine
moderne, innovative und attraktive architektonische
Lösung, die auf die Korporationsidentität achtet. Nun
freuen wir uns in KOMA noch mehr auf Besuch!
KOMA se dlouhodobě věnuje podpoře zajímavých
akcí a kulturních počinů ve svém regionu, neboť je
společensky odpovědnou firmou. Mezi podpořené
projekty patří i sponzoring knihy „Nevšední osudy
Baťova exportéra“, která má i po létech co říci
současným exportérům. Martin Hart, marketingový
ředitel KOMA, vysvětluje motivaci podpořit vznik
této knihy následovně: „O podpoře této publikace
bylo jasno ve velmi krátké době, neboť naše společnost
KOMA se hrdě hlásí k odkazu Tomáše Bati, který
změnil tvář našeho kraje a jako jeho obdivovatelé
jsme vznik knihy museli podpořit.“
As a socially responsible company, KOMA has long
supported interesting ventures and cultural events
in its region. One of the most recent projects is sponsorship of the book “The Extraordinary Exploits of a
Baťa Exporter” which, even after years, has much to
say to contemporary exporters. KOMA’s Marketing
Director, Martin Hart, explains the motivation behind the decision to support the publication of this
book: “The decision to support this publication was
made very quickly, as the KOMA Company is proudly
committed to the legacy of Tomáš Baťa, who changed
the face of our region, and as his admirers, we just
had to help with the publication.”

von interessanten Aktionen und Kulturtaten in ihrer
Region, den es ist ein gesellschaftlich verantwortliches
Unternehmen. Zu den unterstützten Projekten gehört
auch das Sponsoring des Buches „Nichtalltägliche
Schicksale von Baťas Exporter“, das auch nach Jahren
noch den jetzigen Exportern etwas zu sagen hat. Martin Hart der Marketing Direktor von KOMA, erklärt die
Motivation zur Unterstützung dieses Buches: „Über die
Unterstützung dieser Publikation wurde schnell entschieden, denn unser Unternehmen KOMA bekennt sich stolz
zu dem Vermächtnis von Tomáš Baťa, der das Aussehen
unserer Region veränderte und als seine Bewunderer
mussten wir die Entstehung des Buches unterstützen.“
Na konci minulého roku byla bleskově provedena
dlouho avizovaná přístavba administrativní
budovy KOMA areálu ve Vizovicích a komplexní
interiérová úprava recepce. Útvar marketingu, útvar
tuzemského obchodu a útvar konstrukce se tedy
konečně dočkaly velkorysých kanceláří s dostatkem
prostoru. Při budování nových administrativních
prostor byla upravena i recepce, přičemž doznala
zásadních změn a interiérový design je koncipován
v duchu celé korporace KOMA – moderní,
inovativní a atraktivní architektonické řešení, které
ctí korporátní identitu. Nyní se v KOMA těšíme na
návštěvy ještě více!
