für den Hauptbahnhof Wien
Der neue ÖBB-Hightech-Stützpunkt Matzleinsdorf hat
als Herzstück ein 240 m langes und 15 000 m² großes
Betriebsgebäude, in dem auch Verwaltungs-, Lager-,
Personal- und Technikräume verschiedener ÖBB-Gesellschaften mit rund 1 000 Mitarbeitern untergebracht sind.
Als Besonderheit gilt, dass alle ÖBB-Services von den
Instandhaltungsarbeiten bis zur Wagen-Innenreinigung an
einem Ort und „quasi im Durchfahren“ erledigt werden
können. Auf der Luftaufnahme des Betriebsgebäudes
kann man gut erkennen, dass die große Dachfläche in
29 Sheddächer mit 6,35 m bis 8,90 m langen RIB-ROOF
Speed 500 Profilbahnen aufgeteilt wurde. Zur Wartung
der innenliegenden Rinnen wurden ca. 2 000 m Laufstege
durchdringungsfrei mit RIB-ROOF Trittstufenhaltern auf
den Profilbahnstegen montiert (Bild unten links).

for the central train station of Vienna
The heart of the new ÖBB hightech-base Matzleinsdorf is a
240 m long and 15 000 m² large commercial building; which
contains administrative offices, storage places, rooms for staff
and engineering rooms for about 1 000 employees of different
ÖBB companies (ÖBB = Austrian Federal Railways).
The very special about it is; that all ÖBB services can be carried
out at one place. That means from maintenance to the inside
cleaning of the wagon the work can be done by almost passing
through the building. On the aerial photograph of the commercial building you can discern well that the large roof area
was divided in 29 shed roofs with 6,35 m up to 8,90 m long
RIB-ROOF Speed 500 profile sheets. For the maintenance of the
inside gutters about 2 000 m terraced gradients were installed
perforation free onto RIB-ROOF tread holders (see picture in the
left hand lower corner).

Bereits im Jahr 2000 wurden für den neuen Querbahnsteig
2 300 m2 Profilbahnen montiert. Von 2006 – 2008 folgte
dann die Sanierung der Quer- und Längshallen des denk­malgeschützten Hauptbahnhofs. Die ca. 37 m langen Bahnen in
Aluminium walzblank wurden auf der Baustelle mit mobilen
Rollformern profiliert und im Radius der Querhalle von 32 m
und der Längshallen von 12 m – 14,50 m bombiert. Für die
Entlüftung der Querhalle wurden bauseitig 10 Entlüftungshauben ca. 2,5 × 2,5 m montiert. Die Alueinfassungen
wurden umlaufend mit den RIB-ROOF Profilbahnen verschweißt. Die durchdringungsfrei auf den RIB-ROOF Profil­
bahnen befestigte Absturzsicherung ermöglicht weiterhin
die Längenausdehnung durch die systemeigenen Gleitclips.
Already in the year 2000, 2 300 m2 of RIB-ROOF profile
sheets had been mounted onto the roof of the cross
platform of the central station in Darmstadt. From the year
2006 to 2008 that was followed by the reconstruction of
the diagonal and longitudinal halls of the central station
Darmstadt that is listed for preservation. The 37 m long
profile sheets made of uncoated aluminium mill-finish were
profiled and curved at site; this was done by using mobile
rollformers. The profile sheets were curved in the exact
radius of the diagonal (32 m) and longitudinal halls
(12 m - 14,5 m). For room ventilation of the cross platform
10 aluminium outlet air attachments 2.5 x 2.5 m were
mounted onto the roof. The aluminium curb was welded
rotary with the RIB-ROOF profile sheets. The harness
security was mounted penetration-free onto the RIB-ROOF
profile sheets and still assures longitudinal expansion via
the system’s sliding clips.

Die Tonnendächer beim Hbf Kiel mussten bei laufendem
Betrieb saniert werden. Aufgrund der beengten Platzverhältnisse wurden die Profilbahnen bauabschnittsweise als
gerade Profilbahnen ab Werk geliefert und dann auf der
Baustelle mit einer mobilen Biegemaschine sofort auf den
erforderlichen Radius von 123 m und 8 m (zwei Radien in
einer Bahnenlänge) gebracht. Die Bahnenlänge betrug ca.
23 m. Die für ausreichend Tageslicht auf den Bahnsteigen
erforderlichen Lichtbänder verlaufen jeweils in Profilbahnrichtung über den Firstbereich zu den Traufen. Die fachgerechte Einfassung im RIB-ROOF Metalldachsystem ist im
Foto links unten erkennbar.

Central train station Kiel
The barrel-shaped roof of the central station Kiel had to be
reconstructed at the same time as train service was in progress. Due to narrowness of space at the site, the straight
profile sheets were delivered ex works to the construction
site, always depending on the current construction stage.
At site the profile sheets were immediately curved by using
a mobile curving machine. The necessary radius was 123 m
and 8 m (two radii in one sheet) and the sheet was 23 m
long. In order to have enough light to work, light-bands
were mounted in direction from the ridge to the eaves. The
professional bordering into the RR metal roof system can
be seen on the picture in the left hand lower corner.

Der Hauptbahnhof Frankfurt steht seit 1972 unter Denkmalschutz und ist das derzeit größte Sanierungsprojekt der
Deutschen Bahn AG. Er besteht aus fünf Hallen mit einer
Gesamtbreite von 230 m und einer Länge von 186,4 m,
die jeweils nach Osten und Westen durch großflächige
Schürzen abgeschlossen werden. Zwanzig stählerne Fachwerkträger bilden das Grundgerüst des Hallenkomplexes.
Sie werden ein Dach aus 35000 m2 RIB-ROOF Profilbahnen
und 15000 m2 Glas tragen.
Auf einer Unterkonstruktion aus teilweise bombierten
Stahlwellen mit Dampfsperre und Mineralwolle-Isolierung
kommt RIB-ROOF 465 in den Materialstärken 0,7 und
0,8 mm zum Einsatz. Durch Aufbau einer Zwischenbühne
wurde gewährleistet, dass der Zugverkehr von der Baumaßnahme unberührt bleibt. Die etwa 65 m langen Profilbahnen
werden mit einer mobilen Rollformanlage direkt auf der
Plattform der Zwischenbühne produziert und in unterschiedlichen Radien von 12 bis 40 m bombiert.
Central Station Frankfurt is a listed building since 1972
and is at present the biggest reconstruction project of the
„Deutsche Bahn AG“. It consists of 5 halls with a total
width of 230 m and a length of 186,4 m, which are closed
with wide aprons to the east and the west. 20 steel
trusses build the basic structure of the hall complex. They
will carry a roof consisting of 35000 m2 RIB-ROOF profile
sheets and 15000 m2 glass.
For this project the RIB-ROOF 465 with a material
thickness 0,7 and 0,8 mm is used. It is mounted on a
substructure of arched steel shafts with a vapour barrier
and a mineral wool-isolation. The application of an
intermediate platform ensures that the railway service
remains unaffected by the construction works.
The profile sheets are about 65 m long. Using a mobile
roll forming machinery, they are produced directly on the
intermediate platform and are arched in various radii from
12 to 40 m.
