Welcome Address
It is with great satisfaction and a bit of emotion that we prepare
to inaugurate our national Winfocus section with the present Swiss congress
entitled «Echography and Emergency». Ultrasound, thanks to their flexibility
of use, the possibility of being taken to the patient’s bed and their ability to
permit safe invasive procedures in real time, offer enormous advantages in
many medical disciplines, particularly in the fields of Intensive Care medicine,
Anaesthesia and Emergency medicine.
The presence of an interdisciplinary faculty and internationally
renowned directors have contributed to the development of a scientific
program of first level, a key-element for the development of this «two-days»
that - we are sure - will delight all participants. Furthermore, the presence of
small workgroups, especially during the several workshops, is another key
element to ensure good quality of the course. Indeed, the present symposium
will allow, all our colleagues interested in learning this technique, to work
side by side with the greatest international experts in the subject, in order to
better learn this medical field of high practical interest. Finally, attention
should be devoted to the nursing section, an exclusive of WinfocusSwitzerland, which in previous years has brought enormous enthusiasm in
the employer in the sector, who have been able to better understand the
application of ultrasound in theoretic clinical area and in daily clinical practice.
High-level courses, internationally renowned speakers, a scientific
program of first order: these are the best ingredients for the success of this
Congress that we hope can find the right correspondence with the colleagues
interested in learning this technique and start - or continue - the international
Winfocus path certification.

HOW TO REACH THE VENUE
By Car
All participants who wish to attend the Scientific Sessions are required to
register for the meeting. Registration in advance of the beginning of the
Congress is preferred and will help in avoiding delays during the meeting
itself.

REGISTRATION PAYMENT
The payment of the registration fee must be made in CHF by bank transfer;
on the registration form, you will find bank account details. An official invoice
will be issued as a receipt of payment, therefore, please quote all necessary
fiscal data.
CANCELLATION POLICY
All cancellation must be electronically mailed. Refund of registration fee will
be as the following: 70% refund within November 3rd.
LIABILITY AND INSURANCE
The Congress Secretariat and organizers cannot accept liability for personal
accidents or loss of or damage to private property of participants, either
during or indirectly arising from the participation to the Congress.
FROM THE NORTH: Head towards Fribourg on the A1 motorway. Stay right to get
on E27 by taking exit 34 towards GD-ST-Bernard/Vevey/Fribourg. E27 becomes A12
(toll sections). Take exit 8 toward Fribourg-Nord. Enter the next roundabout and take
the first exit onto Rte de Morat. Go through two more roundabouts. Enter the next
roundabout and take the first exit onto 12. Enter the next roundabout and take the
third exit onto Rue Saint-Pierre. Enter the next roundabout and take the second exit
onto Grand Places.
FROM THE SOUTH: Head towards Fribourg on the A1 motorway. Stay right to get on

By plane/by train
FROM THE GENEVA OR ZÜRICH AIRPORT: take a train to the main Fribourg train
station. The trip takes less than two hours. From the train station, cross the road and
walk along the Fribourg Centre. After this shopping center, turn right and go through
the Grand Places. It takes only three minutes walking to reach the hotel.
LANGUAGE
The official language of the Congress is English. No simultaneous translation will be
provided, but participants can interact speaking their mother language (French,
Italian, German).
