Introduction
This Quick Guide applies to the software application SL Editor, that allows you to edit all the features of the SL and also to access to parameters not avaiable on the instrument user interface.
To get the best out of this software, we recommend to read all details of this Guide and also the
SL Manual, to better understand the references between the instrument user interface and all the
detailed (and additional) editing features made possible by the EDITOR.
Start the SL Editor
Download SL Editor for your operating system from Studiologic website. Open the file you have downloaded and install SL Editor. Then
open SL Editor from Start menu (Windows) or App launcher (Mac).
Main Page
The main page is designed to be very similar to the instrument’s display, where the four available
Zones are color-coded and each one contains all editable parameters, while the upper area includes the main Program settings.

Global / Midi
SL Connection
Launch the program, making sure that the instrument is already switched on and connected to
the computer via USB.
On the GLOBAL/MIDI page, set “MIDI 2”, “SL Port 2” or “USB Speakers 2” as IN and OUT device and
then click CONNECT; this action will immediately set the communication between the SL and it’s
EDITOR and you will see the keyboard drawing, at the bottom of the Editor, painted with a different colour, for each one of the four Zones. From now on, any editing done on the software will be
immediately synchronized on the SL unit, with no need of other actions.
Please note that, once the SL is controlled by the Editor, the direct on-board editing is disabled.

Global parameters
The main Global parameter (of this Editor‘s version) is the
main TRANSPOSER; to change its value, click on the virtual keyboard’s image and select the key you want to transpose , that will also be displayed on the screen (range is
minus/plus 12 semitones).
Firmware Upgrade
Normally there is no need to update your SL, unless a
new firmware is published on our official website, with a
detailed list of improvements and/or new functions that
you want to install.

Before upgrading, it‘s recommended do a backup, saving
the SL internal memory in a PROJECT file (refer to page 6).
To update the instrument follow these instruction:
1. Turn off the SL;
2. Connect the SL to the computer via USB;
3. Turn on the SL while pressing the IN button: the diplay will show “FIRMWARE UPGRADE”;
4. Launch the SL Editor and set the instrument as IN and OUT (don’t click CONNECT);
5. Select the new firmware (.syx) that you have downloaded from our website and saved in a folder;
6. Click “TRANSMIT” and wait for the end of the procedure, then recycle the instrument (OFF then ON).

On the top area of the SL Editor PROGRAM page, you can select and edit some parameters.

Clicking on the PROGRAM name (eg. “P001 SL 88 GRAND“) a new popup menu will be displayed,
showing all internal Programs list; move the cursor on the list and select the Program you want
to Edit.
STORE
Click this control to Store the complete setting of a Program in the related/selected position.
MIDI MERGE
It allows to select the Source of the MIDI data that you want to “MERGE” to a selected Destination;
this application allows, for instance, to connect another MIDI keyboard and/or controller to the
SL and merge the MIDI data coming from the external device with the internal data, sending the
result to a selected Destination.
MERGE FILTER
With this function you can decide the parameter (Sysex) to be filtered (out) from the merged
data and also on which MIDI channel the filter should be applied.

Program
Zone Edit
To enter in Zone Edit, double-click on the Zone you want to modify and the related display will
be selected, with all available parameters; to edit a parameter, simply move the cursor on it and
change the value by clicking and moving the cursor to reach the desired value.
The editing values will be immediately visible and transmitted to the SL, in order to allow you to
verify the result of the editing; some parameters will also be shown graphically and the KEY range
will be visible on the keyboard image (on the lower part of the EDITOR’s display) with the same
color of the edited Zone.
While you are setting a parameter, hold CTRL to have more precision.
Once you have edited a Zone, you can go back to the MAIN/HOME by clicking the BACK function.
NOTE on Pedal 4
To this connection of the SL, you can connect special-multi pedal devices, allowing to use up to 3
pedals in one socket; once a multi pedal is selected on one Zone, the other Zones can only be set
to the same kind of multi-pedal or OFF, since two different kind of multi-pedals cannot be connected at the same time.

Organize
This is a very important function of the Editor, that allows to organize your Programs in a fast and
easy way.

OPEN
Open a PROJECT file saved into your computer.
SAVE
Save all PROGRAM and GROPUS of the SL internal memory in a PROJECT file.
SYNC
It allows to import or export all PROGRAMS and GROPUS. When you click on the SYNC button,
a popup allows you to choose between SYNC OUT (to export the NEW PROJECT to the SL) and
SYNC IN (to import all PROGRAMS and GROPUS from the SL).
LEFT AREA
It shows a PROJECT of a opened file. You can copy a PROGRAM or GROUP from the opened PROJECT to the SL internal memory by drag and drop them.
You can also select more than one element at the time, by keeping hold the SHIFT control.
RIGHT AREA
It shows a NEW PROJECT. You can add elements from an opened PROJECT or import all PROGRAMS and GROPUS form the SL internal memory using the SYNC function. Each elements can
be moved, renamed or deleted by clicking on the FUNCTION BAR.

SL Touch
This page of the Editor allows to edit parameters (not listed in the SL internal editing functions)
and represents one of the most innovative features of the SL new line and related EDITOR. In this
area of the software you can either change, load or modify the internal VELOCITY CURVES according to your personal taste and playing preferences, as well as balance the keyboard to your taste
and musical needs.
SL CURVES
In this area you can manage the VELOCITY CURVES (selectable by ZONE EDIT). The are 3 internal
curvers (SOFT-MEDIUM-HARD) and 6 free USER memories to save your personal cuvers (4-9).

To edit a curve, select “Edit this curve“ by clicking the icon
In the curve graph you can:

add/remove points (8) by right-clicking mouse;
move a point by drag and drop.
Note: If you move a point UP, the response will be softer (more velocity with the same force);
if you move it DOWN the response will be harder (less velocity with the same force).
CURVES LIBRARY
A selection of dedicated curves can be visualized in the left area of the display, if programmed, allowing to start from a pre-programmed curve (that can also be made for a specific device, module
or VST sound), import and edit it as one of the free programmable USER‘s curves.
To add your curves to the library, click “Add this curve“ by clicking the icon

KEY-BALANCE
The SL keyboards are perfectly tested and balanced in our factory, with both mechanical and electronic “state of the art“ tests and procedures; however the EDITOR also allows to further control the
overall balance of the keyboard, key by key, and modify any subtle velocity response according to
your taste and playing technique.

WHITE/BLACK BALANCE
A very easy BLACK/WHITE keys BALANCE control allows to slightly change the related balance,
using a MIDI METER as a visual guide. The keyboards are factory-set to be balanced with a ZERO
percentage value, but you can explore other values to your taste.

USER KEY BALANCE MEMORY
Together with the Curves, also your KEY-BALANCE setting can be stored on one of avaible memories.
To save a KEY-BALANCE setting, press and hold one of the memory buttons.
To open a saved KEY-BALANCE setting, click the corresponding memory button.

BALANCE AREA
The graph shows the key-balance active in that moment.
You can draw your personal curve in 2 ways:
• KEY BY KEY
Move te cursor on the BALANCE LINE and drag and drop single key to the desired value (up for
more sensivity or down for less sensivity).
During the editing, you can play on the SL keyboard to verify in real time the result of your setting.
• CREATIVE MODE
Click on any key (we suggest to start from the left key) and keep the click pressed while drawing
a new CURVE, moving the cursor all over the BALANCE area; you will obtain a new curve, that can
also be futher edited key by key.
NOTE: while you are drawing a curve, you can keep holding the SHIFT control to fix the same value
for all selected keys, or keep holding the CTRL button to fix the key and avoid to modify side keys.

DEFAULT KEY-BALANCE SETTINGS
The SL Editor contains 6 default key-balance settings divided in 3 linear and 3 non-linear curves,
as it follows:
1 - FLAT
Original factory BALANCE.
2 - EXTRA GRADED
The keyboard response changes from harder (A0) to softer (C8) enhancing the natural graded mechanical feeling of the SL keyboard, to be
more similar to acoustic GRAND piano actions.
3 - ANTI-GRADED
The keyboard’s velocity response changes from softer (A0) to harder (C8)
and this software control almost makes the keyboard’s response uniform
(zeroing the mechanical graded action).
4 - CLASSIC
A more challenging response, with an exponential graded curve from left
to right.

5 - ARTICULATION
Subtle balanced curve for a more agile playing technique.
6 - STUDIO
A non linear curve, that makes the keyboard less sensitive
(more pianistic).

Introduzione
Questa Guida Rapida si applica all‘ SL Editor, un software che consente di editare tutte le caratteristiche dell‘SL e ad altri parametri non disponibili dallo strumento.
Per utilizzare al meglio questo software, si raccomanda di leggere attentamente questa Guida ed
il manuale dell‘SL, per capire meglio i riferimenti all‘interfaccia utente dello strumento e le caratteristiche editabili (e aggiuntive) dell‘Editor.
Avviare SL Editor
Scarica SL Editor nella versione adatta al tuo sistema operativo
dal sito web Studiologic. Apri il file appena scaricato e installa SL
Editor. Poi avvia SL Editor dal menu Start (Windows) o dall‘App
launcher (Mac).
Pagina principale
La pagina principale è progettata per assomigliare al display dello strumento. Le quattro Zone
disponibili hanno un proprio colore e ognuna di esse contiene tutti i parametri editabili, mentre la
parte superiore include le impostazioni principali del Program.

Global / MIDI
Connessione dell’SL
Avvia il programma assicurandoti che lo strumento sia già acceso e connesso al computer via USB.
Nella pagina GLOBAL/MIDI, imposta “MIDI 2”, “SL Port 2” o “USB Speakers 2” come dispositivo di
INPUT e OUTPUT e poi clicca CONNECT; questa azione avvierà immediatamente la comunicazione
tra l‘SL e l‘Editor e l‘illustrazione della tastiera nella parte bassa dell‘Editor si colorerà con un colore
differente, per ognuna delle quattro Zone. Da questo momento, ogni modifica fatta dall‘Editor
verrà immediatamente sincronizzata con lo strumento, senza nessun‘altra azione necessaria.
Si prega di notare che una volta avviata la connessione con l‘Editor i comandi sullo strumento sono
disabilitati.

Parametri globali
Il principale parametro globale (editabile da questa versione dell‘Editor) è il MAIN TRANSPOSER; per cambiare il
suo valore, cliccare sulla tastiera virtuale selezionando il
tasto che vuoi transporre (l‘intervallo è meno/più 12 semitoni).
Aggiornamento Firmware
Di norma non sono necessari aggiornamenti, a meno che una
nuova versione del Firmware non sia pubblicata sul nostro sito
ufficiale, accompagnata da una dettagliata
lista di miglioramenti e/o nuove funzioni che desideri installare.
Prima di effettuare l‘aggiornamento, si raccomanda di
fare un backup, salvando la memoria interna dell‘SL in un
file di progetto (PROJECT), facendo riferimento a pag.14

Per aggiornare lo strumento, seguire queste istruzioni:
1. Spegnere l‘SL;
2. Collegare l‘SL al computer via USB;
3. Accendere l‘SL mentre si tiene premuto il tasto IN: il display mostrerà “FIRMWARE UPGRADE”;
4. Avviare SL Editor ed impostare lo strumento come INPUT e OUTPUT (non cliccare CONNECT);
5. Selezionare il nuovo firmware (.syx) precedentemente scaricato dal nostro sito web;
6. Clicca “TRANSMIT” e attendi la fine della procedura, then riavvia lo strumento (OFF poi ON).

Modifica di un Program
Nella parte alta della pagin PROGRAM di SL Editor, si possono selezionare e modificare alcuni parametri.

Cliccando sul nome di un PROGRAM (es. “P001 SL 88 GRAND”) un menu mostrerà la lista di tutti i
Program interni; quindi seleziona il Program che vuoi editare.

Clicca questo tasto per memorizzare tutte le impostazioni di un Program nella posizione selezionata.
MIDI MERGE
Consente di selezionare la sorgente MIDI che vuoi unire alla destinazione selezionata; questo
permette, per esempio, di connettere un‘altra tastiera e/o controller MIDI alla SL e unire i dati
MIDI provenienti da un dispositivo esterno con i dati interni, inviando il risultato alla destinazione selezionata.
MERGE FILTER
Con questa funzione puoi decidere quale parametro (Sysex) da filtrare (OUT) dai dati sommati
dalla funzione MERGE e su quale canale MIDI deve essere applicato il filtro.

Program
Modificare un Zona
Per entrare in Zone Edit, fare doppio-click sulla Zona che vuoi modificare. Per modificare un parametro, è sufficiente muovere il cursore su di esso e cambiare il valore cliccando o muovendo il
cursore fino al valore desiderato.
La modifica sarà immediatamente visibile e trasmessa all‘SL, allo scopo di verificare il risulato; alcuni parametri verranno mostrati graficamente e l‘intervallo dei tasti verrà mostrato nella tastiera
virtuale (parte bassa della finestra dell‘Editor) con lo stesso colore della zone editata.
Mentre stai modificando un parametro, tieni premuto CTRL per una maggiore precisione.
Quando hai terminato le modifiche alla Zona, puoi tornare alla pagina principale cliccando sul
tasto BACK.
NOTA sul Pedale 4
Puoi connettere un pedale speciale multiplo e usare quindi 3 padali sulla stessa presa. Una volta
che il pedale multiplo è selezionato su una Zona, le altre Zone possono utilizzare solo lo stesso tipo
di pedale multiplo o nessuno, in quanto due tipi differenti di pedale multiplo non possono essere
connessi contemporaneamente.

Questa è una funzione molto utile e importante di SL Editor, che consente di organizzare i tuoi
Program in modo facile e veloce.

Per aprire un file di progetto (PROJECT) salvato nel tuo computer.
SAVE
Per salvare tutti i PROGRAM e i GROUPS presenti nella memoria interna dell‘SL in un progetto.
SYNC
Consente di importare o esportare tutti i PROGRAM e i GROUPS. Cliccando sul tasto SYNC, una
finestra consentirà la scelta tra SYNC OUT (per esportare il nuovo progetto sull‘SL) e SYNC IN (per
importare tutti i PROGRAMS e i GRUPPI dall‘SL).
COLONNA DI SINISTRA
Quest‘area mostra il progetto di un file aperto. Puoi copiare un PROGRAM o un GROUP da un
progetto aperto alla memoria interna dell‘SL trascinandolo e rilasciando.
Per copiare più elementi alla volta, tenere premuto il tasto SHIFT.
COLONNA DI DESTRA
Quest‘area mostra un nuovo progetto (NEW PROJECT). Puoi aggiungere un elemento da un progetto
aperto o importare tutti i PROGRAM e i GROUP dalla memoria interna dell‘SL usando la funzione SYNC.
Ogni elemento può essere spostato, rinomato o elimato cliccando sulla BARRA DELLE FUNZIONI.

Questa sezione dell‘Editor consente di agire su paramentri non editabili direttamente dallo strumento e rappresenta una delle funzioni più innovative della nuova linea SL e relativo Editor.
In questa sezione puoi sia cambiare, caricare, o modificare le curve di velocità interne secondo
le il tuo gusto personale e le tue preferenze musicali, sia bilanciare la tastiera a tuo piacimento e
necessità.
SL CURVES
In quest‘area puoi gestire le VELOCITY CURVES (selezionabili da ZONE EDIT). Sono diposnibili 3
curve interne (SOFT-MEDIUM-HARD) e 6 spazi liberi per le tue curve personali (4-9).
Per editare un curva, seleziona “Edit this curve“ cliccando l‘icona
Nel grafico della curva puoi:
• aggiungere/rimuovere i punti (8) con il tasto destro del mouse;
• spostare un punto trascinandolo e rilasciando.
I
Nota: Più un punto è in alto, più la risposta sarà morbida (maggiore velocità con la stezza forza);
più un punto è in basso, più la risposta sarà dura (meno velocità con la stessa forza).
LIBRERIA DELLE CURVE
Una selezione dedicata di curve può essere visualizzata nella parte sinistra della pagina, per iniziare da un curva precedentemente creata (per esempio per un dispositivo specifico, un modulo o
un suono VST), importarla e editarla come una delle 6 curve disponibili per l‘utente.
Per aggiungere una curva alla libreria, seleziona “Add this curve“ cliccando l‘icona

KEY-BALANCE
Gli strumenti SL sono perfettamente testati e bilanciati di fabbrica, con prove meccaniche ed elettroniche eseguite ad opera d‘arte. Tuttavia l‘Editor permette di controllare l‘intero bilanciamento
della tastiera, tasto per tasto, e modificare ogni minima velocità di risposta secondo i tuoi gusti e
la tua tecnica.

BILANCIAMENTO DEI BIANCHI E DEI NERI
Un semplice controllo contente di variare leggermente il bilanciamento dei bianchi e dei neri,
usando il MIDI METER come riferimento. Il bilanciamento è settato di fabbrica a 0%, ma è possibile
cambiare il valore a proprio piacimento.

MEMORIA UTENTE PER IL BILANCIAMENTO DEI TASTI
Insieme alle Curve, anche i bilanciamenti (KEY-BALANCE) personali posso essere salvati in uno degli
spazi disponibili. Per salvare un bilanciamento (KEY-BALANCE), tenere premuto uno dei tasti (1-10).
Per aprire un bilanciamento (KEY-BALANCE), cliccare il tasto corrispondente e confermare.

AREA DI BILANCIAMENTO
Il grafico mostra il KEY-BALANCE attivo al momento.
Puoi disegnare la tua curva personale in 2 modi:
• TASTO PER TASTO
Muovi il cursore sulla linea centrale e trascina i singoli tasti sul valore desiderato (su per una maggiore sensibilità, giù per una minore sensibilità).
Durante la modifica, puoi suonare la tastiera SL per verificare in tempo reale il risultato.
• MODALITA‘ CREATIVA
Clicca un tasto qualsiasi (è consigliato iniziare dal primo tasto a sinistra) e tieni premuto mentre
disegni una nuova curva, spostando il cursore per tutta l‘AREA DI BILANCIAMENTO; otterrarai una
curva che potrà essere successivamente modificata tasto per tasto.
NOTA: mentra si disegna una curva, la pressione del tasto SHIFT blocca il valore per tutti i tasti
selezionati, mentre la pressione del tasto CTRL blocca il tasto selezionato evitando di cambiare
accidentalmente quelli adiacenti.

BILANCIAMENTI (KEY-BALANCE) PREDEFINITI
SL Editor contiene 6 bilanciamenti (KEY-BALANCE) predefiniti; 3 con curva lineare e 3 con curva
non lineare e sono i seguenti:
1 - FLAT
Bilanciamento di fabbrica.
2 - EXTRA GRADED
La risposta di velocità della tastiera varia da più dura (A0) a più morbida
(C8) accrescendo il la naturale sensazione graduata dell‘SL, per assomigliare di più alla risposta di un pianoforte acustico.
3 - ANTI-GRADED
La risposta di velocità della tastiera varia da più morbida (A0) a più
dura (C8) rendondo la risposta della tastiera uniforme (azzerando la
graduazione meccanica).
4 - CLASSIC
Una risposta più impegnativa, con una curva esponenzialmente graduata da sinistra a destra.

5 - ARTICULATION
Curva leggermente bilanciata per una maggiore agilità.
6 - STUDIO
Una curva non lineare che rende la tastiera meno sensibile (più pianistica).

Einführung
Die vorliegende Kurzanleitung hilft Ihnen bei der Verwendung der Software „SL Editor“ die es ermöglicht,
auf alle SL-Geräteeinstellungen zuzugreifen. Sie können mit Hilfe der Software auch diejenigen Einstellungen am Gerät vornehmen, die nicht über das Benutzer-Display auf dem Gerät selbst zu erreichen sind.
Damit Sie die Software bestmöglich nutzen können, empfehlen wir Ihnen diese Kurzanleitung genau zu
lesen und auch die Bedienungsanleitung Ihres SL zu Hilfe zu nehmen. So verstehen Sie die Zusammenhänge zwischen dem Benutzer-Display auf dem Gerät und den zusätzlichen Bedienmöglichkeiten über den
EDITOR besser.
Start des SL Editor
Laden Sie die SL-Editor-Software für Ihr Betriebssystem von der
Studiologic – Webseite. Öffnen Sie die heruntergeladene Datei
und installieren Sie den SL Editor. Starten Sie den SL Editor aus dem
Startmenü (Windows) oder dem Programmordner (Mac).
Das Hauptmenü
Der Aufbau des Hauptmenüs der SL-Editor-Software ist dem Aufbau des SL-Hauptmenüs sehr ähnlich. Das Menü enthält vier farblich gekennzeichnete Zonen. Jede Zone enthält alle einstellbaren
Parameter und im Bereich drüber finden Sie wichtigsten Programmeinstellungen.

SL Verbindungseinstellungen
Starten Sie das Programm SL Editor und achten Sie bitte darauf, dass das Gerät bereits eingeschaltet und
durch ein USB-Kabel mit dem Computer verbunden ist.
Wählen Sie im GLOBAL/MIDI Reiter, MIDI 2 (oder SL Port 2) als IN und OUT Verbindung und klicken Sie
anschließend CONNECT (Verbinden). Dies stellt die Verbindung zwischen dem SL und dem EDITOR
her und zeigt am unteren Rand des Editors die schematische Darstellung der Tastatur mit vier Zonen,
in vier unterschiedlichen Farben an. Ab sofort wird jede Veränderung der Einstellungen im SL Editor,
unmittelbar mit dem SL synchronisiert, es sind keine weiteren Schritte notwendig. Bitte beachten Sie,
dass während der Verbindung zur SL- Editor-Software keine Einstellungen am Gerät selbst möglich sind.

Global Einstellungen
Die wichtigste Einstellung im „Global“ Reiter (dieser Editor-Version), ist der TRANSPOSER. Um dessen Wert zu verändern, klicken Sie auf die schematische Tastaturdarstellung und wählen Sie die
Taste aus, deren Tonhöhe Sie verändern wollen. Dies wird auch im Geräte-Display angezeigt (Der
Umfang beträgt minus/plus 12 Halbtöne).
Firmware Upgrade (Geräte-Aktualisierung)
Die aktuelle Firmware-Version für Ihr SL finden Sie auf der
offiziellen Studiologic-Webseite. Führen Sie ein Update
durch, sollte die aktuelle Version noch nicht installiert sein.
Um ein Geräte-Update durchzuführen befolgen Sie bitte
die folgende Anleitung:
1. Schalten Sie das Gerät (SL) aus.
2. Verbinden Sie das Gerät (SL) und den Computer mit
einem USB-Kabel.
3. Schalten Sie das Gerät ein und betätigen Sie gleichzeitig den IN Drucktaster: Das Display zeigt
„FIRMWARE UPGRADE“ an.
4. Starten Sie den SL Editor und wählen Sie das Instrument als IN und OUT Verbindung (klicken
Sie nicht auf CONNECT).
5. Wählen Sie die neue Firmware-Datei, die Sie vorher von der Studiologic-Webseite heruntergeladen
und anschließend in einem Ordner gespeichert haben aus.
6. Klicken Sie „TRANSMIT“ und warten Sie bis der Vorgang beendet wurde. Starten Sie das Gerät neu,
in dem Sie es Aus- und wieder Einschalten.

Sobald Sie auf den Programm-Namen klicken (z.B. „P001 SL 88 GRAND“) erscheint ein neues MenüFeld, welches alle internen Programm-Listen anzeigt. Bewegen Sie den Mauszeiger (Cursor) auf

STORE
Klicken Sie diesen Button (STORE) im SL Editor um die Einstellungen eines Programms an der
ausgewählten Position abzuspeichern.
MIDI MERGE
Wählen Sie das MIDI-Signals aus, dass Sie an bestimmter Stelle hinzumischen wollen. Diese
Funktion erlaubt es beispielsweise ein weiteres MIDI Keyboard und /oder Controller an das SL
anzuschließen und die externen MIDI Daten den internen Daten hinzu zu fügen, um dieses Ergebnis anschließend an ein ausgewähltes Ziel zu senden.
MERGE FILTER
Mit dieser Funktion können Sie Parameter (Sysex) aus dem Datenverbund (heraus-) filtern und
auswählen auf welchen MIDI Kanal der Filter sich auswirken soll.

Program
Zone Edit
Um in die Zoneneinstellungen zu gelangen, klicken Sie doppelt auf die Zone deren Einstellungen Sie verändern wollen. Die Zone wird daraufhin mit allen veränderbaren Parametern ausgewählt. Um eine Einstellung zu verändern, bewegen Sie einfach den Mauszeiger (Cursor) an die entsprechende Stelle und
verändern den Wert durch klicken und Bewegen des Mauszeigers (Cursor), bis Sie den gewünschten Wert
ausgewählt haben.
Die neu eingestellten Werte werden umgehend an das Gerät (SL) übermittelt. Um die Übertragung vom SL
Editor an das SL überprüfen zu können, sehen Sie die veränderten Werte auch auf Ihrem SL. Einige Parameter werden auch grafisch dargestellt. Der Tastenumfang wird als schematische Tastaturdarstellung (im unteren Bereich des EDITOR) angezeigt. Dabei hat jede der vier Zonen seine eigene, einheitliche Farbgebung.
Wenn Sie einen Parameter verändern wollen, drücken Sie gleichzeitig die „Strg“(CTRL) Taste auf Ihrer Tastatur um den jeweiligen Parameter präziser auf den gewünschten Wert regeln zu können.
Sobald Sie die gewünschte Zone verändert haben, können Sie zu MAIN/HOME zurückkehren in dem Sie
die BACK Taste betätigen.
Der Pedalanschluss 4
Am Pedalanschluss 4 des SL können Sie spezielle Multi-Pedale anschließen, die Ihnen erlauben bis zu
drei Einzelpedale in einem Gehäuse untergebracht zu verwenden. Sobald ein Multi-Pedal einer Zone
zugeordnet wurde, kann den anderen Zonen nur ebenfalls dieses Multi-Pedal zugeordnet werden oder
die Einstellung OFF verwendet werden. Zwei Multi-Pedale können nicht zur gleichen Zeit verwendet
werden.

Diese Funktion zählt zu den sehr wichtigen Funktionen des SL Editor, da sie Ihnen eine schnelle und
einfache Organisation Ihrer Programme ermöglicht.

Öffnen einer auf Ihrem Computer gespeicherten (PROJECT) Projekt-Datei.
SAVE
Speichern aller Programme (PROGRAMS) und Gruppen (GROUPS) des internen SL Speichers in eine
(PROJECT) Projekt-Datei.
SYNC
Erlaubt das Importieren oder Exportieren aller Programme (PROGRAMS) und Gruppen (GROUPS).
Wenn Sie auf das SYNC Symbol klicken, können Sie über ein neues Fenster zwischen SYNC OUT (Exportieren eines neuen PROJECT (Projekt) auf das SL) und SYNC IN (Importieren aller PROGRAMS (Programme) und GROUPS (Gruppen) vom SL) wählen.
LINKER BEREICH
Zeigt das Projekt (PROJECT) einer geöffneten Datei. Sie können ein Programm (PROGRAM) oder eine
Gruppe (GROUP) eines geöffneten Projektes (PROJECT) in den internen Gerätespeicher des SL kopieren, in dem Sie es Ziehen und Ablegen (drag and drop). Sie können auch mehr als ein Element zur
gleichen Zeit auswählen, wenn Sie die SHIFT-Taste gedrückt halten.
RECHTER BEREICH
In diesem Bereich wird ein neues Projekt (NEW PROJECT) angezeigt. Sie können Elemente eines geöffneten Projekts (PROJECT) hinzufügen oder alle Programme (PROGRAMS) und Gruppen (GROUPS)
des internen SL Speichers importieren, in dem Sie die SYNC Funktion verwenden. Jedes Element kann
verschoben, umbenannt oder gelöscht werden in dem Sie auf den Funktions-Balken klicken.

SL Touch
Dieser Reiter im Editor erlaubt es, Einstellungen am SL vorzunehmen, die am Gerät selbst nicht veränderbar sind. Diese Funktion gehört zu den innovativsten Eigenschaften der neuen SL Generation und
der dazugehörigen SL Editor Software. Im Reiter SL TOUCH können Sie die Velocity-Kurven (VELOCITIY
CURVES) Ihres SL entweder austauschen, laden oder verändern. Dies gilt auch für die Balance der Tastatur, die Sie ganz nach Ihrem Geschmack oder musikalischen Anforderungen anpassen können.
SL CURVES
Im Reiter SL CURVES können Sie die Velocity-Kurven verwalten (anzuwählen über das ZONE EDIT Fenster). Es gibt 3 voreingestellte Velocity-Kurven (1 SOFT-2 MEDIUM- 3 HARD) und 6 freie (USER) Speicherplätze für das Abspeichern Ihrer ganz persönlichen Velocity-Kurven (4-9).
Um eine Kurve nach Ihren Bedürfnissen anzupassen, wählen Sie „Edit this curve“ und klicken Sie auf
das Symbol.
Sie können die Kurven-Grafik in folgender Weise bearbeiten:
• Fügen oder entfernen Sie Punkte (8) mit einem Rechts-Klick der Maus auf die Kurven-Grafik
• Entfernen Sie einen Punkt auf der Kurven-Grafik mit ziehen und ablegen des Punktes mit der Maus (drag & drop).
Hinweis: Wenn Sie einen Punkt auf der Kurven-Grafik aufwärts bewegen, wird das Ansprechverhalten
weicher (höhere Anschlagsgeschwindigkeit bei gleicher Kraft). Wenn Sie den Punkt abwärts bewegen
wird das Ansprechverhalten härter (geringere Anschlagsgeschwindigkeit bei gleicher Kraft).
CURVES LIBRARY
Auf der linken Seite im SL TOUCH Fenster finden Sie die „CURVES LIBRARY“. Hier finden Sie die von
Ihnen vorprogrammierten Velocity-Kurven (beispielsweise an einen bestimmten Klangerzeuger oder
VST Sound angepasst) und können diese von dort aufrufen. Um eine von Ihnen programmierte (USER)
Velocity-Kurve in der CURVES LIBRARY abzuspeichern wählen Sie „Add this curve“ in dem Sie auf das
Symbol klicken

KEY-BALANCE
Die SL Keyboard-Tastaturen werden während der Fertigung eingehend geprüft und ausbalanciert.
Sowohl die mechanische als auch die elektronische Prüfung erfolgt nach dem aktuellen Stand der
Technik. Mit dem EDITOR haben Sie zusätzlich die Möglichkeit darüber hinausgehend die Balance
ganz nach Ihren Wünschen, auch Taste für Taste, auf Ihren Geschmack bzw. Ihrer Spieltechnik anzupassen.

WEISS/SCHWARZ BALANCE
Über eine sehr einfach zu bedienende Balance-Einstellung der weißen und schwarzen Tasten, können Sie die Tastatur sehr fein abstimmen. Die Regelung erfolgt über das MIDI-METER, welches Sie
visuell unterstützt. Die Auslieferung der Tastatur erfolgt ausbalanciert. Nehmen Sie gerne eigene
Einstellungen vor, die Ihrem Geschmack entsprechen.

ABSPEICHERN EIGENER KEY-BALANCE EINSTELLUNGEN
Gleich dem Abspeichern der eigenen Velocity-Kurven, ist es auch möglich eigene Key-Balance Einstellungen abzuspeichern.
Um eine eigene Key-Balance (KEY-BALANCE) Einstellung abzuspeichern, drücken Sie einen der
Speicherbuttons und halten ihn kurzzeitig gedrückt.
Um eine gespeicherte Key-Balance Einstellung aufzurufen, drücken Sie bitte den Speicherknopf auf
dem die gewünschte Key-Balance Einstellung hinterlegt ist.

BALANCE AREA
Die Grafik zeigt die aktuell gewählte Key-Balance Einstellung.
Sie können Ihre persönliche Einstellung der Key-Balance auf 2 verschiedenen Arten vornehmen:
• TASTE FÜR TASTE (Key by Key)
Bewegen Sie den Cursor entlang der Balance-Linie und stellen Sie Taste für Taste auf den gewünschten
Wert durch ziehen und ablegen (drag and drop) ein. Nach oben um die Empfindlichkeit zu erhöhen oder
nach unten um die Empfindlichkeit zu verringern.
Während der Bearbeitung der Key-Balance, können Sie auf dem SL Keyboard spielen und in Echtzeit das
Ergebnis Ihrer Einstellungen überprüfen.
• KREATIV-MODUS (CREATIVE MODE)
Klicken Sie mit der Maus auf eine beliebige Taste auf der Balance-Linie (wir empfehlen auf der linken Seite
der Balance-Linie zu beginnen), halten die linke Maustaste gedrückt und ziehen mit dem Mauszeiger
(Cursor) eine neue Key-Balance Kurve entlang der Balance-Linie. Sie erhalten eine neue Kurve, die Sie
ebenfalls Taste für Taste nachbearbeiten und auf Ihre persönlichen Wünsche anpassen können.
HINWEIS: Während Sie mit der Maus eine Key-Balance Kurve zeichnen, können Sie die Umschalttaste
(SHIFT) gedrückt halten, um den gleichen Wert für alle ausgewählten Tasten zu hinterlegen. Halten Sie
gleichzeitig die „Strg“-Taste (CTRL) gedrückt, bezieht sich Ihre Auswahl nur auf die Gewünschte Taste und
Sie vermeiden das unbeabsichtigte Ändern des Einstell-Wertes der nebenstehenden Tasten.

STANDARD KEY-BALANCE EINSTELLUNGEN
Die SL-Editor-Software beinhaltet 6 Standard Key-Balance Einstellungen, die unterteilt sind in 3 lineare
und 3 nicht-lineare Key-Balance-Kurven:
1 - FLAT
Standard Key-Balance Einstellung (ausgewogen).
2 - EXTRA GRADED
Die Reaktion der Tastatur wechselt von härter (A0) zu weicher (C8), was das
Spielgefühl der SL-Tastatur verbessert und sich dadurch an das Spielgefühl
einer echten Flügel-Tastatur so weit als möglich annähert.
3 - ANTI-GRADED
Die Anschlagsgeschwindigkeit der Tastatur wechselt von weicher (A0) zu
härter (C8). Diese Software-Einstellung führt zu einer fast ausgewogenen
Tastatur-Balance (beinahe Nullstellung aller Key-Balance Einstellungen).
4 - CLASSIC
Eine mehr herausfordernde Tastatur-Reaktion mit einer exponentiell abgestuften Kurve von links nach rechts.
D
5 - ARTICULATION
Empfindliche Balance-Einstellung für eher schnelle Spieltechniken.
6 - STUDIO
Eine nicht lineare Balance-Kurve, welche die Tastatur weniger empfindlich
macht. (für geübte Pianisten)
