The current US presidential election cycle has brought us two surprising candidates. Donald Trump’s
nomination came as short of a shock to many republicans and political analysts, who had predicted that
the businessman had virtually no chance of winning. At the same time, Hillary Clinton’s candidacy as
former first lady (and first female candidate for a major US party) is still no small surprise. Moreover,
according to polls, both candidates are the most unpopular presidential nominees ever. Thus, the 2016
presidential election has become an unpopularity contest of unprecedented proportions. Will Hillary
Clinton give voters reasons to like her, or at least to not dislike her? Will Donald Trump get on a more
traditional campaign or build on his conservative populism? Which candidate will finally win the race to
the White House and what effects will this have on transatlantic relations?
Entrance is free and the event will be held in English. Please note that space is limited and
registration will be handled on a “first come, first served” basis.
