The SLC crossovers are remarkable for their compact form.
Fitted with low-impedance and low-distortion foil capacitors,

phase linearity throughout the treble range. Chromium
plating ensures the best possible connections. The variable
four-level tweeter attenuation with the HALO-system
prevents excessive output in the treble range.
Specially conceived for sound enthusiasts with an ear for quality, the SLC is the
audiophile’s perfect component system. They were developed and produced
with the same goals as the SL coaxial loudspeakers. The SLC component
systems are equipped with a 20 mm silk dome tweeter. These systems handle
the reproduction of natural sounds with consummate ease. The woofers are
of long-stroke design with natural fiber cone. Installing them in conjunction
with the fabric tweeter, which is easily positioned by a flush or angle mount
and driven by a high quality LC crossover, provides you with a Rainbow audio

Inspired by the installation difficulties of mid-bass loudspeakers in today s
vehicles, Rainbow has developed a mid-bass loudspeaker for very narrow
installation openings. Of critical importance in the development of these
loudspeakers was a design allowing for the best use of the mounting depth
in order to achieve a reasonable and acceptable Xmax to reproduce the midbasses. This required the development of a new magnet system technology,
and resulted in the incorporation of the extremely light, high-energy neodymium
magnet inside the loudspeaker.
Durch die Einbauproblematik der Midbass-Lautsprecher in die heutige
Fahrzeugmodellpalette angeregt, hat Rainbow einen neuen Tief-MitteltonLautsprecher f r sehr beengte Einbauverh ltnisse in den Fahrzeugen entwickelt.
Die zur Verf gung stehende geringe Einbautiefe so auszunutzen, dass ein
vern nftiger und akzeptabler Hub f r die Wiedergabe des Midbasses erreicht
wird, ist Rainbow durchaus gelungen. Erforderlich dazu waren neue Technologien
im Magnetsystem, welche mit dem extrem leichten und innenliegenden
Hochenergie Neodymmagnet realisiert werden konnte.

The resulting loudspeaker has a total weight of 250g, a mounting depth of only
43 mm, and an Xmax of +/- 6 mm. It is currently the best alternative available
for these installation conditions. In spite of the small magnet inside, the
loudspeaker has a sensitivity of 90 dB 1W/1m. The loudspeaker fits perfectly
in the VW Sharan, Seat Alhambra, Seat Cordoba, Seat Ibiza, Skoda Fabia, Skoda
Oktavia and many more autos.
Im Ergebnis wurde es ein Lautsprecher, welcher mit einem Gesamtgewicht
von 250g und einer gesamten Einbautiefe von 43 mm, bei einem Tieftonhub
X-Max von +/- 6 mm die zur Zeit beste Alternative f r diese Einbaupl tze
darstellt. Trotz des kleinen innenliegenden Magneten wird ein Wirkungsgrad
von 90 dB 1W/1m erreicht. Die Anwendung dieses Lautsprechers liegt in den
Fahrzeugen VW Sharan, Seat Alhambra, Seat Cordoba, Seat Ibiza, Skoda Fabia,
Skoda Oktavia und viele andere.

For bass generation there is one simple and valid rule.
Nothing can take the place of cone area.
Für die Wiedergabe tiefer Töne gibt es eine einfache aber
dennoch gültige Regel. Membranfläche geht über alles.
The larger the cone area the more powerfully and loudly
the subwoofer plays. A disadvantage of too large cones is
not being able to install them in the car without using plate
shears. To avoid this problem it is possible to install a very
large woofer in a small enclosure relying on the principle
that a small enclosure will fit into a larger one (trunk).
Because of the pressure chamber effect in the car the
frequency range below 50 Hz is amplified up to 20 dB (10
times). This fortuitous effect could be of practical use in car
bass generation.
The subwoofer enclosures of the GSW series use the
optimized loudspeaker parameters for small and powerful
enclosures to offer lots of power enjoyment. Deep tuning
frequency of 25 – 35 Hz, high volume levels of up to 140
dB, and super-heightened sensitivity boost the enclosures’
performance up to hearing loss levels.
Je größer die Membranenfläche, desto druckvoller und lauter
wird die Wiedergabequalität im Tiefbassbereich. Ein Nachteil
zu großer Membranen liegt in der Unterbringung im Fahrzeug,
ohne die Blechschere benutzen zu müssen. Um dieses
Problem zu umgehen, können ersatzweise große Woofer in
kleine Gehäuse eingebaut werden, nach dem Prinzip: Ein
kleines Gehäuse wird in ein Größeres (Kofferraum) eingepasst.
Durch den Druckkammereffekt im Auto, wird der
Frequenzbereich unterhalb 50 Hz mit bis zu 20 dB (10facher) Verstärkung wiedergegeben. Dieser Gratiseffekt kann
für Bassübertragung im Auto sinnvoll ausgenutzt werden.
Die Gehäuse-Subwoofer Serie GSW nutzt die optimalen
Lautsprecherparameter für kleine und leistungsstarke Gehäuse
für viel Power-Spaß. Tiefe Abstimmfrequenz von 25 – 35
Hz, abartige Pegelfestigkeit von 140 dB und
überdimensionierter Wirkungsgrad, geben den Basskisten
den erforderlichen Schub bis zum Hörsturz.

IQ Line speakers promise the right sound for when you're on
the move-and they keep their word. The speakers are acoustically
tuned for optimal performance and fit perfectly-to the millimeterin most standard automobiles. You can easily install them
yourself with just some basic mechanical and technical
knowledge. And, if you later decide to sell your car and prefer
to hang on to your Rainbow IQ Line speakers, you can remove
them easily without leaving behind any traces.
Passgenau und akustisch abgestimmte Lautsprecher für die

ohne „Rückstände“ wieder entfernen. Alle Komponenten aus der
IQ Line sind durch exaktes Vermessen in den entsprechenden
Fahrzeugen speziell auf die Fahrzeugakustik ausgerichtet und
bilden somit die intelligenteste Lösung schlechthin.
For drivers leasing their cars the decision virtually makes itself;
speakers have to fit exactly or not at all. Since this model-specific
adaptation is only mechanical and optical in nature, IQ Line
systems bring the same uncompromising sound quality as
Rainbow's universal systems. Perfect sound is ensured thanks
to car-specific acoustic tuning. This is achieved through separate
crossovers on the left and right to precisely balance the phase
and level of the different axes from the mid-ranges and tweeters
installed in the original factory locations.
All IQ Line components are precisely dimensioned for specific
car models in order to provide the most finely tuned acoustics
for each model, making IQ Line the most intelligent solution.

Bei Leasingfahrzeugen erledigt sich die Entscheidung von selbst.
Dort ist das „Einpassen“ in den meisten Fällen ohnehin tabu. Die
Systeme der IQ Line sind in ihrer klanglichen Qualität so stark
wie die Universalsysteme von Rainbow, da sie lediglich mechanisch
und optisch den Einbaugegebenheiten angepasst sind. Durch
die akustische Fahrzeugabstimmung mit den unterschiedlichen
Frequenzweichen für die rechte und linke Seite wird - dort wo
es nötig ist - eine perfekte Beschallung garantiert. Die verschiedenen
Abstrahlachsen der vorgegebenen Einbauorte für Mittel- und
Hochtöner werden somit in Pegel und Phase ausgeglichen.

doubling the power of the woofer
All or nothing!
Keeping this principle in mind, our
engineering team has developed an
additional crossover for operating
double woofer systems. Simply
connecting an additional woofer in
parallel is no longer considered a
state-of-the-art application.
The tweeter in such a configuration,
no longer able to compete with the
amplified sound pressure of two
woofers, will sound faint and dull.
The specially developed additional
crossover from Rainbow can redress
the balance, deliberately avoiding
parallel connection to the existing
system crossover.
This prevents doubling of the peak load
and the sound pressure to the specified
Kick-Bass range only; the impedance
remains unchanged for the original
system. The overall system impedance
is halved. Irritating side-effects, e.g.,
inflating the critical mid-range or
blanketing the tweeters, are thus
avoided

den Betrieb von Doppelwoofersystemen.
Die einfache Parallelschaltung des
Zusatzwoofers ist nach dem heutigen
Stand der Technik falsch. Der im
System vorhandene Hochtöner
kann hierbei pegelmäßig nicht
mit dem erweiterten Schalldruckpegel
der beiden Woofer weiterarbeiten und
wird zu leise und matt empfunden.
Abhilfe schafft hier die speziell entwickelte
Zusatzweiche von Rainbow.
Hierbei wird die Parallelschaltung an die
vorhandene Systemweiche bewußt
vermieden.
Das Resultat ist die Verdoppelung
der Impulsbelastbarkeit und des
Schalldruckpegels nur im vorgegebenen
Kickbassbereich, bei gleicher
Impedanz für das Originalsystem.
Die Gesamt-System-Impedanz halbiert
sich. Störende Nebeneffekte wie zum
Beispiel das Überhöhen des kritischen
Mitteltonbereiches oder
das Überdecken der Hochtöner
werden hierdurch ausgeschlossen.

...a systematic philosophy
A speaker system owes its tough suspension to the stability of its
spider. The Rainbow Kick-Bass has no less than four centering spiders.
Each adjacent pair forms a double spider; and the two pairs, on two
different levels, together form a quadruple spider. This sophisticated
design pays dividends in terms of optimal parameters and above
all of long-term stability.
Die Federsteifigkeit erhält ein Lautsprechersystem von der
Zentrierspinne. Beim Rainbow Kickbass sind es gleich vier. Jeweils
zwei sitzen als Doppelzentrierung beieinander, und von diesen Duos
bilden wiederum zwei auf verschiedenen Ebenen den vierfachen
Zentrierblock. Dieser Aufwand zahlt sich in optimalen Parametern
und vor allem in ihrer Langzeitstabilität aus.

Durch den Schalldruckpegel
