Stadtbus oder per Rad binnen weniger Minuten bequem erreichbar. Die
Glasenbachklamm ist bekannt für ihre
Fossilienvorkommen und ist ein Naturschutzgebiet. Sie liegt am Fuße des
Gaisbergs.
Südlich von Salzburg am Fuße
des Gaisberges gelegen, befindet sich der idyllische Ort Elsbethen, idealer Ausgangspunkt
für Ausflüge in und um die

Der wichtigste Fossilfund, der je in
der Glasenbachklamm gemacht wurde, ist ein Ichtyosaurus, ein Fischsaurier, der hier vor 200 Millionen Jahren
starb, im Schlamm versank und in
Folge versteinerte. Heute können Sie
den Saurier im „Haus der Natur“ bestaunen. In der Glasenbachklamm blieben jedoch zahlreiche Muscheln, Schnecken,
Seeigel und anderes Meeresgetier. Seit vielen Jahren führt ein Geologielehrpfad durch die Glasenbachklamm, der mit
Hilfe von 11 Schautafeln die Geschichte der Klamm erzählt und auf wichtige Gesteinsformen oder Fossilien verweist.
