Die Schriftsteller, die im Rahmen des Programms der 16. Buchmesse Non/fiction nach Moskau kommen, werden auch andere Städte Russlands besuchen – Alexandrow und Nischni
Novgorod, wo sie ihre neue Romane darstellen und mit den Zuschauern diskutieren.
Anne Brécart und Nicolas Buri kommen am 1. Dezember nach Nischni Novgorod, wo
sie auch an dem Festival „Genfer Tage“ (1.12 – 4.12) teilnehmen. Das Festival findet in
der Staatlichen Linguistischen Universität Nischni Novgorod statt.

Der Schriftsteller stellt seinen letzten Roman „Jacob beschliesst zu lieben“ zusammen mit dem Uebersetzer Alexander Kabisov dar.

Concert “Henry Dunant – founder of the International
Committee of the Red Cross”. Russian Premiere

Within a framework of the exhibition “War from the Victims’ Perspective, Photographs by
Jean Mohr“ there will be also a symphony concert - oratorio “Henry Dunant, founder of
the International Committee of the Red Cross” (December 2, at 19:00, theater "School of
Dramatic Art").
The concert is a tribute to Henry Dunant, who was the founder of the International Committee
of the Red Cross and the 1864 Geneva Convention was based also on Dunant’s ideas. In
1901 he received the first Nobel Peace Prize.

“That Sabine”. Photographs by Sabine Weiss

Sabine Weiss ranges among the classics who transformed reportage photography
into real art. Her humanistic approach with permanent focus on the man is evident.
Nowadays Sabine Weiss is one of the few women in reportage photography whose
art combines everyday poetry with sharp social observation.

In anticipation of Christmas Holidays The Lumiere Brothers Center for Photography
and Lumiere Brothers Photogallery present the solo exhibition of a Swiss-French
photographer Sabine Weiss. The exhibition is arranged to coincide with Sabine
Weiss’ 90th anniversary that she celebrated this summer.
Most of the pictures, featured at the exhibition, were taken in France in the 1950s80s. This period was crucial for formation of Sabine’s individual style. Apart from
French photographs, The Center presents shots taken during the photographer’s
trips to Burma, Morocco, Portugal and Malta. All photographs are gelatin silver printed and are provided by the artist.
Sabine Weiss turned 90 in July 2014. A great celebration of the anniversary took
place at the European House of Photography (Maison Européenne de la Photographie). Within the framework of Photography Month 2014 in Paris Salon de la
Photo held Sabine’s exhibition. Following Paris, the exhibition devoted to Sabine
Weiss’ anniversary, opens in Moscow.
Sabine Weiss’ photographs are in the collections of Museum of Modern Art (MoMA),
New York Metropolitan Museum, Chicago Institute of Art, George Pompidou Center,
European House of Photography, Kunsthaus Zurich, Lausanne Photography Museum. Weiss bears the title of the Officer of the French Order of Arts and Letters.

„Briefe von dem Vater. Briefe von den Vätern aus GULAG
an ihre Kinder“. Buchpräsentation

Im Rahmen der Ausstellung „Krieg aus der Perspektive der Opfer. Photographien von
Jean Mohr“ findet am 5. Dezember eine Buchpräsentation statt. Das Buch „Briefe von dem
Vater. Briefe von den Vätern aus GULAG an ihre Kinder” ist auf den Briefen aus dem Konzentrationslager „Gulag“ von den Vätern an ihre Kinder basiert. Diese Briefe wurden von
dem Archiv und Museum „Memorial“ bereitgestellt.
Die Veranstaltung findet am 5. Dezember um 17.00 statt.

ARTDOCFEST. Russian International Documentary Film Festival
9 – 17 December, Moscow
Russian International Documentary Film Festival is being held in Moscow since 2007. It is
the biggest documentary film festival in Russia due to its quantity and the program’s volume.
This year a film by the Swiss director Alain Margot «Je suis FEMEN» is included into the
program.

About: Oxana is a woman, an activist and an artist.
As a teenager, her passion for icon paintings led her
to enter a convent, but it was within the Femen
movement that she finally found a way to put her talent to use. With Anna, Inna and Sasha, she cofounded the famous feminist group opposing the
Ukrainian regime, which has taken her from her
homeland to all corners of Europe. Revealing both her desire to create, and furious hunger to
change the world, Oxana shows us something of her character, reserved, spell-binding and
multi-faceted, the very image of the passionate work she makes.

Born in Sainte-Croix in 1959, Alain Margot studied at
ECAL before making several films on Super-8. In 1989
he created the production company Mellina Films with
writer and screenwriter Emanuelle delle Piane, and
worked regularly with Télévision Suisse Romande.
Making both fiction and documentary films, his credits
include Quinzaine haïtienne (1996), Hotel Serbia (2007) and La Mécanique des anges
(2009).

Swiss Cinema Week in St. Petersburg
Movie club “Cinemafia” and open studio “Lendoc” present first Swiss Cinema Week in St.
Petersburg, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations
between Russia and Switzerland. Swiss Cinema Week will take place from 11 to 17 December.
Swiss Cinema Week will present eight new Swiss films - fiction and documentary. This is a
unique opportunity to experience multiculturalism of Switzerland (films are shown in three
national languages - French, German and Italian), as well as get acquainted with the cinema
of the country, which holds annually one of the largest film festivals in Europe – Locarno Film
Festival.
Swiss Cinema Week will be opened with a picture of " Cure: The Life of Another"- the main
Swiss movie hit of this year. The history of 14-year-old Linda, which is hard going through the
tragic death of a friend and gradually "takes" over its identity. Director Andrea Staka will personally present a picture to the audience in St. Petersburg.
Also among the guests of the festival - director Elena Khazanov. She will bring to St. Petersburg her movie "Sam" - a touching family melodrama about the relationship between a father
and his son.
All films are shown in their original language with Russian subtitles.

Arthur Lourié: Konzert-Porträt
12 Dezember, Moskau
Arthur Lourié war ein bedeutender Russischer
Komponist. Er spielte eine wichtige Rolle beim
Aufbau des Sowjetischen Musiklebens nach 1917,
musste Russland aber 1922 verlassen. Seine
Musik widerspiegelt seine engen Beziehungen zu
den St. Petersburger Dichtern und Künstlern des
Silbernen Zeitalters und zu Igor Strawinsky in Paris.
Louriés frühe Werke sind von Debussy und
Skrjabin beeinflusst; bald jedoch entwickelte er
expressionistische Ausdrucksmittel, die ihn zu
Experimenten mit der Atonalität und 1912 in den
Deux poèmes op. 8 zur Anwendung von Zwölftonkomplexen führten. Daher gilt Lourié heute als
einer der ersten und wichtigsten Vertreter des
musikalischen Futurismus. Doch der meiste Teil
seiner Werke wird nicht aufgeführt und befindet
sich in seinem Archiv in Basel. Die Werke aus
unterschiedlichen Zeitperioden seines Lebens und
Schaffens, die auf dem Konzert am 12. Dezember
aufgeführt werden, können eine Vorstellung über
seine unterschiedliche stilistische geben.

„Paul Klee. Kein Tag ohne Linie”. Ausstellung im Puschkin-Museum

„Nulla dies sine linea“ (kein Tag ohne Linie/Zeichnung) – diesen Satz aus der Historia Naturalis von Plinius hatte Paul Klee 1938 in seinen Oeuvrekatalog unter der Werknummer 365
notiert, einer Zeichnung mit dem Titel Süchtig. „Kein Tag ohne Linie“ ist nicht nur ein bestimmendes biografisches Merkmal von Paul Klee, sondern steht auch in einem direkten
Zusammenhang mit der tagebuchartigen Entwicklung seines Spätwerks.
Die Ausstellung zeigt mehr als 150 Kunstwerke aus der Malerei und Grafik, die von Paul Klee in verschiedenen Zeitperioden: bekannte afrikanische Aquarelle, geometrische „Stadt
mit den drei Kuppeln“, ironischer „Schritt“ (1931) aus der
Kollektion des Zentrums von Paul Klee in Bern, romantischer
„Aufgehender Stern“ (1931) und tragischer „Gefangene“
(1940) aus der Fondation Beyeler in Basel und andere Werke aus den schweizerischen Kollektionen.
