A LONG HISTORY.
Der lange rote Faden.
Our history stretches back to 1888 and is closely linked to
H.F. Meyer, the son of a renowned shoemaking family. Driven by
the idea of creating the perfect shoes, he founded the H.F. Meyer
shoe factory at Doventorsteinweg 43–45 in Bremen and thus laid
the foundation stone for the LLOYD brand. Just 125 years, numerous innovations and a shoe Oscar later, LLOYD 1888 shoes stand
for confident style, quality and comfort worldwide. And the red
stripe on the heel represents the company’s constant striving towards
perfection. Then, now and in the future.
Genaugenommen reicht der rote Faden bis ins Jahr 1888 zurück
und ist eng verwoben mit H.F. Meyer, dem Sohn einer angesehenen
Schuhmacherfamilie. Angetrieben von der Idee, die perfekten Schuhe
zu schaffen, gründete er im Doventorsteinweg 43–45 in Bremen die
H.F.-Meyer-Schuhfabrik und legte so den Grundstein für die Marke
LLOYD. Nur 125 Jahre, zahlreiche Innovationen und einen SchuhOscar später stehen LLOYD-1888-Schuhe weltweit für Stilsicherheit,

How do you recognise a good shoe? By the feeling that it was made
for you. From the fit and design to the quality – everything should
be just right. And this is exactly what our approach is for every pair
of LLOYD 1888 shoes. Everything has to be perfect, from the sole
to the individual finish that makes every shoe unique. This is why
we use only the best leather from selected tanners and still attach
our soles by hand. Only in this way can we create superb shoes of
guaranteed highest quality and high durability. The red stripe and
embossed sole is proof of this.

even earned us a few design prizes. Our success drives us onwards,
and we aim to continue setting new benchmarks in the future. Not
only in terms of materials, shape and finish, but also of course in

For the GOODYEAR RANGE from LLOYD 1888, our shoemakers
use one of the best and most detailed frame stitching processes in the
world: Goodyear Welted. In line with the best handicraft traditions,
unique, limited-edition shoes are created from the finest materials.
Made in Germany. And of absolute top quality.
The first step is sewing the upper part of the shoe to the inner sole.
A leather band running around the shoe forms the so-called frame.
To make a shoe that supports complex foot movements, offers maximum comfort and meets the highest standards, it must be worked on
over 300 times by hand.
Für die GOODYEAR RANGE von LLOYD 1888 wenden unsere
Schuhmacher eines der besten und aufwendigsten Rahmennahtverfahren der Welt an: Goodyear Welted. Nach bester handwerklicher Tradition werden aus edelsten Materialien einzigartige,
streng limitierte Schuhe gefertigt. Selbstverständlich made in
Germany. Und 100 Prozent First Class.
Dafür wird zunächst das Oberteil des Schuhs an die Innensohle genäht. Ein Lederband, das rund um den Schuh läuft, bildet
dabei den sogenannten Rahmen. Insgesamt muss über 300-mal
Hand angelegt werden, um aus feinstem Kalbsleder einen Schuh
zu fertigen, der komplexe Fußbewegungen unterstützt, maximalen
Tragekomfort bietet und höchsten Ansprüchen genügt.

STEP 01.
STEP 02.
Das Oberleder, feinstes Kalbsleder, wird mit dem
Rahmen verbunden. Anschließend wird zur Stabilisierung ein Metallgelenk eingefügt.
Die Korkschrotfüllung zwischen Brandsohle und
Zwischensohle ermöglicht dem Träger, ein individuelles Fußbett zu bilden.
The upper, made from the finest calfskin, is applied
to the frame. A metal joint is inserted to provide
stability.

The crushed cork filling between the insole and the
midsole enables the footbed to mould itself around
the wearer’s foot.
STEP 03.
The top of the midsole is sewn to the frame. This
means that the shoe can be resoled at a later date
without having to be taken apart – and the individual
footbed remains in place.
Die Zwischensohle wird von oben mit dem Rahmen
vernäht. So lässt sich der Schuh später neu besohlen, ohne dass er auseinandergenommen werden
muss – und das individuelle Fußbett bleibt erhalten.
STEP 04.
The outsole, made from leather sourced from Rendenbach (Germany) and tanned in a pit for 12 months,
is extremely durable, waterproof and breathable.
The LLOYD leather heel, which is skilfully built by
hand, is made in Germany. The red stripe made from
shock-absorbing rubber guarantees comfort.
Die Laufsohle aus 12 Monate lang altgrubengegerbtem Leder von Rendenbach (Deutschland) ist
extrem lange haltbar, wasserfest und atmungsaktiv. Auch der schichtweise von Hand aufgebaute
Lederabsatz von LLOYD ist made in Germany. Der
Oberfleck mit dem roten Streifen aus schockabsorbierendem Gummi garantiert komfortables Gehen.
