Master in GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN AND AERONAUTICAL INDUSTRY OPERATIONS 4th Edition. 2012-2013 The master of Engineering in “Global Supply Chain and Industry Operations” is a degree of the Sevilla University and is sponsored by EADS Spain. It has been designed for recent Engineering graduates who want to increase their knowledge (academic and practical) on global supply chain management, engineering operations, manufacturing, assembly, quality and lean. During the master period (1 year), students will be interns in Spanish Airbus sites. Fluency in English and in Spanish are required (most of the courses are given in Spanish). Who is the master for? • Aeronautical Engineering • Industrial Engineering • Industrial Organization Engineering • Telecommunications Engineering, • Naval Engineering, • Civil Engineering Dates and fees •Pre-selection process: June 2012 – September 2012(*) •Launch of the course: November 2012 - October 2013 (*) •Price: 6.100 € (inc. tax) •Half-grants available for best students in the selection process •(*) to be confirmed Information (contact and CV reception): master.gsc&[email protected] Phone: +34 954 482175 Master in COMPOSITES 3rd Edition. 2012-2013 Designed for Postgraduate to complement previous university training and to provide students with the practical aspects of design, development and industrialisation of structures in composite materials. Composites Design Manufacturing Analysis This Masters is mainly aligned to composite materials for the aerospace industry, although its content is equally applicable to other sectors of high technology: naval industry, wind energy and railway transport high speed. Who is the master for? Graduates in Aeronautical Mechanical Engineering, Design and Physics and Chemistry Dates and fees •Pre-selection process: June 2012 – 15th September 2012 •Launch of the course: November 2012 - October 2013 •Price: 9.900 € (inc. tax) Information: Prof. Alfredo Güemes E.T.S.I. Aeronáuticos [email protected] www.aero.upm.es/departamentos/mmtc Fly Your Ideas REGISTRATION FOR AIRBUS FLY YOUR IDEAS IS NOW OPEN! Held every two years, Airbus has recently launched Fly Your Ideas 2013 and is asking students to develop ideas for the eco-efficient aviation industry of the future, with winners sharing the top prize of €30,000 and the runners-up receiving €15,000. As one of the world's leading aircraft manufacturers, Airbus is looking ahead to anticipate the global needs of a more connected, more sustainable world. Fly Your Ideas is part of the inspirational Future by Airbus programme – a vision of sustainable air travel in 2050. Air travel is full of remarkable innovations, and with this third edition of Fly Your Ideas Airbus is asking students to think big too and propose an idea to address one of the following 21st century challenges for greener aviation: Energy; Energy Efficiency; Affordable Growth; Traffic Growth; Passenger Experience; Community Friendliness. In giving students the chance to work on real issues, Airbus aims to better equip its future global talent pool. We hope university students of any nationality or discipline – from engineering to marketing; business to science; information technology to design – will be inspired to participate. Why participate in Fly Your Ideas? In addition to the financial prizes and the remarkable opportunity to present to a panel of industry leaders; with over 200 staff from Airbus involved during the competition this offers a unique opportunity for students to learn about the industry from within and benefit from: • mentoring from Airbus staff and receiving feedback on their ideas from assessors; • guidance from an expert in the field of their idea at key stages of the competition; • the chance to develop their teamwork skills; • the opportunity to enhance their creativity and innovation; • the chance to improve their project development and presentation skills; • working with other nationalities in their team, and with Airbus staff. How to get involved • To enter students must register as a team of three to five members at www.airbus-fyi.com • Registration is now open until 30th of November; the competition opens on 3rd of September and ends on 7th of December • Students can use the Fly Your Ideas Facebook application to find team mates with similar interests. • The final takes place in June 2013 when the top selected teams will present their ideas to a panel of Airbus and industry experts. Events AIRBUS PRESENTS AN ILLUMINATING VISION OF THE FUTURE OF FLIGHT Ahead of the ILA Berlin Air Show, Airbus will transform the city’s iconic Humboldt Box structure into a giant canvas with a spectacular 4D projection light show to launch The Future by Airbus, a vision of Smarter Skies in 2050 and beyond. Join us on a journey to the future of flight! When: Saturday 8th September 2012 Time: Every 15 minutes from 8:45pm – 10:45pm Where: Humboldt-Box, Schlossplatz 5, 10178 Berlin This unique light show is the first of its kind on the Humboldt Box. Dramatic graphics will envelope the building as the Airbus Concept Plane appears to take to the skies and fly in formation above Berlin, highlighting the benefits of smarter aircraft, smarter technology, and smarter skies in 2050. In stunning schematics, the Smarter Skies light show will illustrate the benefits of smarter aircraft operations that could cut travel time, reduce emissions and ease delays. The light show will be beamed onto the Humboldt Box at 15 minute intervals from 8:45pm – 10:45pm on Saturday 8th September. The Humboldt Box is in the centre of Berlin on Museum Island.
