Are you curious to get into touch with fields every gentleman and officer was expected to know? Not to speak about the “courtesy” riding, fencing and dancing… If you do so attend the first war academy ever held for the napoleonic time! • Basic idea: establish contemporary war academy for senior officers 1790-1815 • Choose an authentic historical setting • Private and quiet surroundings • • No obligations for the public performances Be in the period, do not talk about the period! Objectives • Get an understanding o f an officer’s education • Mutual exchange of experience and knowledge • Transfer theory to practice where ever possible Montag, 8. No hotel, but splendid location in a national preserved area. Accommodation in tents inside the fort. Very reasonable • Bourtange, NL, Frisia, close to the German border (small hotel inside the fortress) • Other locations in Upper Italy, France, Belgium, Bohemia?
