Rydges on Swanston, 701 Swanston Street, Carlton
The theme for this year’s conference is
THE WHOLE SHE-BANG:
Sex, Gender and Life cycle
The 2016 conference is designed to highlight current women's issues
facing general practitioners. In addition to the educational component,
the Conference Dinner provides the chance for delegates and
sponsors to network, relax and socialise with their peers & colleagues.
The topics covered at this conference are:
• Transgender and gender identity issues
• Sexuality, young women, pleasure and safety
• Preserving fertility
• The heart (disease) of the matter: Midlife woman
• Older LGBTIQ women
The 2016 conference will focus on interesting
and challenging clinical presentations throughout
the different life stages of a woman. Day 1 will
cover sexuality, pleasure and safety and why sex
may hurt in younger women. It will be followed by
a session on women’s reproductive age exploring
gender identity issues from a GP perspective,
preserving fertility and practising a pelvic floor
workout. Day 2 will focus on midlife and the older
woman and cover cardiovascular disease (CVD)
and LGBTIQ in your practice. Each session will
be interactive with case-based discussions and
opportunities for Q&As.
An optional CPR course will be offered for attendees
who wish to meet their CPR requirements for the
2014–2016 triennium.
Rydges on Swanston is located on the fringe of Melbourne
CBD, in the cosmopolitan district of Carlton. Relax in the

and Swanston Street. Carlton is one of Melbourne’s best
