UNIDAD II: ORIGEN Y ESTRUCTURA DEL LENGUAJE
OBJETIVO DE LA UNIDAD:
1. Conocer la clasificación genealógica y morfológica de las principales lenguas del mundo.
2. Enunciar las principales familias lingüísticas. Situar la familia lingüística Indoeuropea y conocer
sus ramas. Ubicar el español en dicha familia.
3. Observar las características del Latín culto y del Latín vulgar.
4. Identificar los principales elementos no latinos del español.
5. Reconocer los elementos morfológicos de las palabras simples y compuestas.
6. Distinguir los cambios fonéticos, morfolgicos y semánticos de las palabras.
TEMARIO:
1. Clasificación de las lenguas:
a) Clasificación genealógica: La familia lingüística indoeuropea. Ramas griega e italo-céltica.
Latín culto y latín vulgar. Sus características fonéticas: abecedario, vocales, diptongos y
consonantes; morfológicas y semánticas. Concepto de enunciado, declinación y caso. Las
lenguas romances.
b) Clasificación morfológica: Lenguas monosilábicas, aglutinantes y flexivas (analíticas y
sintéticas).
2. Estructura y elementos morfológicos de las palabras españolas: raíz y otros morfemas.
3. Clasificación de las palabras españolas por sus elementos: simples y compuestas.
4. Transformación de las palabras. Cambios fonéticos, morfológicos y semánticos. Sentido natural
y metafórico.
5. Integración del español: Latín y Griego (tecnicismos, neologismos). Elementos no latinos.
En esta segunda unidad el alumno estudiará el origen y estructura de la lengua española
empezando por los criterios genealógico y morfológico para la clasificación de las lenguas. La

vulgar hasta llegar a las lenguas neolatinas o romances. Se revisarán los conceptos de
enunciado, declinación y caso, propios de las lenguas de flexión.
Después se verá la estructura y elementos morfológicos de las palabras españolas: raíz y
morfemas o afijos (se sugiere que el profesor haga una comparación con la nomenclatura de la
lingüística estructural yla tradicional). Clasificará las palabras por
sus elementos. Estudiará los cambios fonéticos, morfológicos y semánticos para entender el
sentido natural y metafórico de las palabras.
La unidad concluirá con los principales elementos no latinos que conforman la lengua española.
