SUPPLEMENT TO THE LONDON GAZETTE, JUNE 25, 1878.
In Attendance on His Royal Highness The Prince Leopold,
K. H. Collins, Esq., C.B., Comptroller.
In Attendance on His Royal Highness Prince Christian of Schleswig-Holstein, K.G.,
Honourable C. G. C. Eliot, Equerry.
On arrival in the Choir, the Crown, Cocked Hat and Sword, and Orders of His late Majesty,
were placed on the Coffin.
His Royal Highness the Chief Mourner stood at the Hea-1 of the Coffin^ with His Royal
Highness The Prince of Wales and His Royal Highness The Prince Leopold on either side.
The other Royal Personages stood behind His Royal Highness The Chief Mourner, and their
Attendants near them.
The Supporters of the Pall were on either side of the Coffin.
The Lord Chamberlain stood at the loot of the Coffin.
The opening sentences of the Burial Service were sung by the Choir to the Music of Dr. Croft,
while the Procession moved up the Nave ; after which the 90th Psalm was chanted to the Funeral
Chant adapted from Beethoven.
The First part of the Service and the Anthem (Martin Luther's Hymn) having been performed,
the Royal Coffin was lowered into the Royal Vault, after which the Service was concluded, when
Garter King-of-Anns proclaimed the Style of Plis late Majesty as follows :—
Thus it has pleased Almighty God to take out of this transitory life unto His Divine Mercy His
late Majesty King George the Fifth of Hanover, Duke of Brunswick-Luneberg, Duke of Cumberland
and TeviotHale, Earl of Armagh, Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, General in Her
Majesty's Army. First Cousin to Her Most Excellent Majesty Victoria, by the Grace of God of the
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, whom God bless and
preserve with long life, health, and honour.
After which The Royal Personages were conducted out of the Chapel, and the others composing
the Procession retired while the Dead March in Saul was played.

A Guard of Honour of the Scots Guard was mounted during the Ceremony at the entrance to
St. George's Chapel.
The following Hanoverian Gentlemen, who had the honour to receive the Queen's Commands to
attend the Funeral of His late Majesty, were conducted to seats in the Choir of St. George's Chapel:—
