B&J Manufacturing revolutionierte seinerzeit den Rauungsprozess durch Einführung der technisch überlegenen und austauschbaren Rauklinge im Wechselkopf, dem
bekannten B&J Rocket Rausystem, gegenüber
der damals üblichen Raunadeltrommel.
Mit dieser Erfindung der ersten Rauklinge hat
B&J Rocket in der Klingentechnologie damals
neue Standards gesetzt und bis heute ständig
neue innovative Werkzeuge geschaffen, wie
beispielsweise die neuen Rocket EVO-Blades.

Rocket EVO Blades
Before Roy Barnes and Emil Bech
Jensen introduced the newly developed Rocket rasp system to the world
in 1945 rasp heads were made of a
perforated steel band, which was
fitted from the inside with especially
hardened tacks. The innovative
Rocket rasp system from B&J was a
novel rasp head, fitted with easily
exchangeable individual buffing
blades, also called "refills", to be replaced simply and quickly after wearing out. This allowed for unprecedented efficient buffing plus the possibility to adapt the surface (texture)
to the various requirements of different types of tyres by using different
blade types. This marked the birth of
a new era of tyre retreading and a
worldwide standard.

Jensen 1945 der Welt das innovative Rocket Rausystem vorstellten,
bestanden Rauköpfe aus einem
gelochten Stahlband, das von innen
mit gehärteten Raunägeln bestückt
war. Das neue Rocket Rausystem
von B&J bestand aus einem neuartigen Raukopf mit leicht austauschbaren individuellen Rauklingen, sog.
„Refills“, die nach Verschleiß einfach und schnell ausgewechselt
werden konnten. Dies ermöglichte
eine nie gekannte effiziente Rauung
sowie die Möglichkeit, durch verschiedene Klingentypen die Oberfläche (Textur) an die diversen Anforderungen der unterschiedlichsten
Reifentypen anzupassen. Das war
die Geburtsstunde einer neuen Ära
und eines weltweiten Standards.
Today, almost 70 years later, B&J
introduces the new ROCKET EVO
BLADES!
EVO clearly stands for "evolution",
because an evolution knows no shortcuts; it is the result of a long stable
development process.
For B&J it was important to maintain
the basic concept of rasp head and
buffing blades. The blades, however,
have been completely re- designed.
The new ROCKET EVO BLADES clearly
appear more sophisticated with their
uniform and even steel colouring as
well as the absolutely flat design. The
true innovation, however, has taken
place inside the blades!
With a completely new manufacturing
process B&J has managed to optimize the properties of its buffing
blades:

The Rocket Rasp system
Rocket Rasps, the hubs for the well
known and proven Rocket Refills,
have become an industry standard
since their invention in 1942 by B&J.
Rocket Rasps are manufactured from
high strength forged aluminum only.
As a result, Rocket Rasps not only
last much longer under normal working conditions but provide a higher
degree of safety for the operator. A
typical Rasp head consists of two
main parts called Top & Pin side. In
between are the selected refills and
spacers fixed in various alignments:
REG, AP, NS. In order to obtain wider
rasps, Heavy Duty (HD) Spacers can
be used. All B&J Rasps are manufactured with hammered (forged) Aluminum and are known for their stability
and durability.
Some B&J rasps have been in operation for over 30 years.

This 11.5" Rasp (incl. Refills) or 273
mm (excl. Refills) has 6 segments. As
opposed to our standard R-115 Rasp,
which has 5 segments, it is possible
to build up the Rasp off set. The offset build up (switching spacer thickness) reduces the risk of extensive
rubber band creation during buffing,
which can block the rubber dust extraction system.
We recommend the use of TURBO
cooling channels.

bei dem R-115 Raukopf hat dieses System 6 Segmente. Dieser
Unterschied ermöglicht es, die
Rauklingen im Off Set Aufbau
(wechselnde Stärken der Distanzstücke) einzusetzen. Dies verhindert die Entstehung von überlangen Gummischnüren, welche oftmals zu Problemen in der Absaugung führen. Zur Steigerung der
Standzeiten empfehlen wir die
Verwendung von Turbo-Kühlkanälen.

This 9" Rasp (incl. Refills) or 211 mm
(excl. Refills) shows one remarkable
technical difference to the standard
9" Rasp named R4. It is equipped
with stronger pins of 5/16" or 7.9
mm Ø. Therefore it is suitable for
heavy usage. Especially for conveyor
belt buffing,
where rasps with a width of more
than 200 mm or more are used, this
rasp type is recommended. The rasp
has 4 segments, which makes it suitable for an off-set build up. We recommend the use of TURBO cooling
channels.

Rauköpfe mit einer Breite von 200
mm oder mehr keine Seltenheit
sind. Der Raukopf verfügt über 4

1. Vermeiden Sie zu hohen Anpressdruck!
x Automatischer Reifenwand-Abrauer:
Verringern Sie den Anpressdruck
x Manuelle Reifenwand-Abrauer: LuftdruckSchleifer etc. brauchen nur leichten Druck.
Mit etwas Gefühl wird das Werkzeug seine
Arbeit machen. Zu viel Anpressdruck verringert die Leistung und führt zu starker
Rauch- und Geruchsentwicklung.
2. Halten Sie die Kühlseite (innen) der
Werkzeuge frei von Gummistaub.
Verklebter Abrieb führt zu drastischem Rückgang der Kühlleistung und überhitzt das
Werkzeug. Daraus ergibt sich:
x Verringerte Haltbarkeit des Werkzeugs
x Verbranntes Gummi
x Schlechte Oberflächenbeschaffenheit –
schlechte Haftung
x Erhöhtes Feuerrisiko
x Unwucht am Werkzeug, Maschinenschaden
Gummistaub mit Pressluft entfernen. Dies
sollte zweimal am Tag erfolgen, sonst führt
es zu Klumpenbildung des Gummis.
Die als Zubehör erhältliche Staubabdeckung ist
nur ein Kompromiss. Die Bildung von Gummiverklumpungen wird verhindert, allerdings ist
die Kühlleistung des Werkzeugs verringert,
jedoch immer noch besser als ein im Inneren
mit Gummiresten verklebtes Werkzeug.
3. RCC & RCP sind Anrauwerkzeuge.
Sie sind zum Abrauen/Abtragen von Gummi
nicht optimal. Zum Abrauen/abtragen von
Gummi empfehlen wir Rocket Rauklingen.
1. Avoid excessive pressure!
x Automatic sidewall buffers: reduce pressure
x Manual sidewall buffers, air grinders etc.
only need small pressure. Try to feel the tool
(grit) doing the job. Too much pres-sure
reduces performance. It will start to smoke
excessively and smell of burned rubber.
2. Avoid rubber dust on the cooling side
(inside) of all carbide tools.
Clogged rubber dust inside the carbide tools
reduces the cooling performance drastically. It
may lead to overheated carbides causing:
x Reduced lifetime of tool
x Scorched rubber
x Poor texture – reduced adhesion
x Increased risk of Fire
x Imbalance of tool, damage to the machine

Remove rubber dust with compressed air. It is
recommended to do this twice a day, otherwise
rubber will get clogged.
Available dustcovers are only a compromise.
They assure that clogged rubber cannot be
generated. Cooling performance with dust
covers is less than on open tools but still better
than a tool with clogged rubber inside.
3. RCC & RCP tools are designed to
grind rubber.
They are not suitable for buffing rubber and
other materials. For buffing we recommend to use B&J Rocket Rasp tools.

The B&J Portable Star Wheel Grinder is specially designed for buffing of conveyor belts in order to apply cross
profiles and vulcanize. These tools have a remarkable advantage over the use of flat discs in angle grinders. Due to
their cylindrical buffing drum made of Star Wheels, they
generate a very uniform, evenly buffed surface. Such an
even surface is not achievable with a Flat Disc on a angle
grinder. The B&J Portable Star Wheel Grinder delivers this
result with a compact hand operated low cost machine.
Der tragbare B&J Wellenrad-Schleifer wurde speziell für
das Anrauen von Förderbändern entwickelt, um diese mit

B&J's New Look Tyre Paint Plus Reifenfarbe erzeugt
einen gummiähnlichen Überzug an verblichenen Reifenseitenwänden. Der Reifen sieht wieder aus wie neu. Die
wasserbasierende, nicht gasende Farbe ist erhältlich in
vorgemischten 20-Liter Kanistern sowie in 200-Liter
Metallfässern. Die Reifenfarbe wird bei den bekanntesten Runderneuerungsfabriken verwendet sowie bei
Fahrzeugaufbereitern und Gebrauchtwagenhändlern,
die ihre Fahrzeuge mit einen Neureifen-Look aufwerten.
