- Normann Copenhagen präsentiert Box, ein Design von Peter Johansen
Industriell, einfach und vielseitig: Box ist ein kleiner Tisch mit Tablett, der optisch leicht wirkt, während das Material Stahl dem
Tisch Stabilität und Langlebigkeit verleiht. Die Formsprache des Industriedesigns wird durch die schlichte, rechteckige Konstruktion
und den stilisierten Bogen betont.
Der dänische Designer Peter Johansen wollte mit Box einen Tisch aus Stahl schaffen, bei dem die Formgebung durch rechte Winkel
an Tischplatte und Tischbeinen bestimmt ist. Der Designer hat sich dabei zunutze gemacht, dass das Material an Stärke gewinnt,
wenn ein Stück Metall gebogen wird und so einen stabilen Tisch mit ungewöhnlicher Optik geschaffen. Die abgerundeten Kanten
sind ein schönes Detail und das Gegengewicht zur markanten Linienführung des Tischs. Für Peter Johansen ist die Arbeit mit der
Hand ein wichtiger Bestandteil bei der Umsetzung von Ideen. Seine Entwürfe arbeitet er deshalb in der Regel im Maßstab 1:1 aus.
Anschließend nimmt er die Anpassung und Feinabstimmung der Proportionen vor.
Peter Johansen erklärt: „Ich hatte von Anfang an eine klare Vorstellung davon, wie der Tisch aussehen sollte. Deshalb ging es beim
Designprozess hauptsächlich darum, die idealen Proportionen zu finden. Obwohl Box aus Stahl gefertigt ist, hat der Tisch doch eine
gewisse Leichtigkeit an sich. So, als wenn man zwei Stücke Karton zusammenkleben würde. Und es ist gerade die Wechselwirkung
zwischen den feinen Linien und dem stabilen Material, die für einen interessanten Kontrast sorgt.“
Box ist in zwei Größen und in drei bläulichen Farbnuancen, in der Farbe Creme und in klassischem Grau erhältlich. Der Tisch kann
sehr vielseitig eingesetzt werden. Zum Beispiel als Couchtisch, Beistelltisch oder Nachttisch. Mit seinen Griffen ist er leicht zu
transportieren.

A small table for all purposes

Industrial, simple, and versatile. Box is a small table with a lightweight feel. The steel material makes it strong and gives the table a
durable expression. The industrial design of the table is accentuated by its simple, orthogonal construction and stylish framework.
With Box, Danish designer Peter Johansen wanted to make a steel table with right angles as the bearing design principle for both
the tabletop and legs. The designer has taken advantage of the fact that material is strengthened when a piece of metal is bent and
created a solid table with a unique look. One of the fine details is the rounded edges that soften up the table's sharp lines. It is
natural for Peter Johansen to use his hands for bringing ideas to life. His designs are typically created using 1:1 scaling. He then
modifies and fine-tunes the proportions of the design.
Peter Johansen says: ”I had a clear picture of the table in my head right from the beginning. So the design process was more about
finding the exact proportions. Even though the Box Table is made of steel, it has a light feel. Just like when two pieces of paper are
glued together. And it is precisely the interaction between the thin lines and the strong material that create a nice contrast”.
Box is available in two sizes, three shades of blue, a cream, and a classic grey. The table useful for many purposes, for example, as a
coffee table, side table, or bedside table. The table has handles, which makes it easy to move around.

About Peter Johansen:
Peter Johansen graduated in furniture and spatial design at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2004. His work often involves
modelling and 1:1 scaling. His work is inspired by everyday life and his immediate surroundings. Peter Johansen says himself that his
projects are characterised by logic and often contain a flirtation with the trivial.

Industrielle, simple et versatile, Box est une petite desserte dont la légèreté est contredite par son matériau, qui lui confère sa
solidité et son allure intemporelle. Sa construction simple, à angle droit, et son tréteau stylisé viennent souligner l'aspect industriel
de son design.
En concevant Box, le designer danois Peter Johansen souhaitait créer une table en acier dont la portance du plateau comme des
pieds reposerait sur des angles droits. Le designer a exploité le fait que l'acier devient plus résistant lorsqu'il est courbé pour créer
une table solide à l'allure distincte. Détail raffiné, le bord arrondi qui vient adoucir les lignes nettes de la table. Pour Peter Johansen, il
est naturel d'utiliser ses mains pour donner vie aux idées : en général, il réalise ses créations à l'échelle grandeur nature. Ensuite, il
adapte et ajuste les proportions de l'objet.
Peter Johansen explique : « Dès le départ, j'avais une image très claire de la table en tête. C'est pourquoi il s'agissait de trouver
exactement les bonnes proportions plutôt que d'un processus de design ordinaire. Même si elle est réalisée en acier, Box est une
table tout en légèreté, à l'instar de deux morceaux de carton collés ensemble. La juxtaposition des lignes élancées et de la solidité
du matériau crée un beau contraste ».
Box se décline en deux tailles, ainsi qu'en trois nuances de bleu, un crème et un gris classique. Cette table offre de nombreuses
possibilités d'utilisation, comme table basse, table d'appoint ou table de chevet par exemple.
Box est dotée de poignées permettant de la déplacer facilement.
