Sleeping in upholstered beds from Walter Knoll is
like floating on a cloud. The sleeping system is based
on the box-spring principle. Excellence in design
and function. Box-spring beds denote particular
snugness, supreme softness and excellent sleeping
comfort. Their height makes it easier to get into
bed, the mattress adjusts to suit the contours of
the body, relieves pressure and supports the spine.
The interaction of the breathable upholstered
materials and the airspace of the base mattress
allow the air to circulate in all directions all the time
and thus absorb moisture. For healthy sleep.

Sleeping system
The recommended sleeping system from Walter Knoll is based on the box-spring principle and
consists of:
- a slim, supporting base mattress
- a comfortable, soft top mattress and
- a topper (optional).

Base mattress
The upholstered base mattress consists of furnace-tempered, continuously coiled springs
forming a stable and resilient basis for the sleeping system and support for the top mattress.
The cover cannot be removed.
Top mattress
The top mattress is tufted and is made of several layers of material (see illustration), which are
put together without compression or chemical adhesives. The inner springs are hand-made
with heat-tempered metal. This creates a mattress with outstanding resilience, which quickly
regains its shape.
The cover cannot be removed.
