These instructions tell you how to install a real-time clock in an EasyCoder
PD41/PD42 printer. The kit includes the following items:
• Printed circuit board (PCB) with real-time clock
• Two plastic PCB guides
Required Tools
To install the interface board in your printer, you need these tools:
• Slotted screwdriver
• Phillips screwdriver
Installing the Interface Board
Before you begin installation, please read these safety notes:
The installation described in this section must only
be performed by an authorized service technician.

Make sure the printer has been turned off and
disconnected from the power supply before you
start installation.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Drucker abgeschaltet
und von der Stromversorgung abgetrennt wurde,
bevor Sie mit der Installation beginnen.
Take precautions against electrostatic discharge, for
example, by wearing grounded wrist straps.
To install the real-time clock
1 Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
2 Open the side door. Remove the two screws that hold the cover to the
electronics compartment. Close the side door.
3 Lay the printer down on its side, with the electronics compartment facing
up.
4 Loosen the electronics compartment cover by placing the tip of a slotted
screwdriver at the edge of the cover and gently pushing the handle
towards the top of the printer. DO NOT attempt to bend it loose.
5 Slide the cover out along the rails and remove it from the printer.
6 Put the printer back in upright position.
7 Insert the PCB guides into the square holes on the main board marked
“RTC.” Make sure you insert them correctly (as shown below), once the
guides have been attached to the main board they are hard to remove.
8 Slide the PCB with real-time clock in between the guides, and connect it
to the four pins on the main board.
9 Reattach the cover.
Please refer to the Fingerprint Programmer’s Reference Manual
(P/N 937-005-xxx) for information on setting the time and date of the realtime clock.
