Nackenschutzsystem bestehend aus Carbonfaser und GFK, teilweise beschichtet mit einem weichen, Energie absorbierenden
Schaum, Gewicht ca. 790g. Das KTM Neck Brace bietet nach
derzeitigem Stand der Wissenschaft und Technik Schutz vor:
Hyperflexion (extreme Vorwärtsbewegung des Kopfes bzw. Überdehnung des Kopfes nach vorne), Hyperextension (extreme Rückwärtsbewegung des Kopfes bzw. Überdehnung des Kopfes nach
hinten), laterale Hyperflexion (extreme seitliche Bewegung des
Kopfes), achsiale Belastung (Stauchung des Rückgrates durch
eine dementsprechende Belastung auf den Helm), posterale
Hypertranslation (Zurückschieben des Kopfes auf dem Genick).
Derzeit gibt es kein anderes Nackenschutzsystem, das die oben
genannten Verletzungen auf ein Minimum reduzieren kann und
dabei gleichzeitig eine maximale Bewegungsfreiheit garantiert.
Der grundlegende Ansatz des Neck Brace besteht darin, die unkontrollierte Bewegung des Kopfes/Helmes im Falle des Sturzes
kontrolliert zu stoppen. Dies wird durch folgende Merkmale des
KTM Neck Brace bewirkt: Energie absorbierendes Material auf
der Oberfläche und Körperauflagefläche, Flexibilität durch die
Konstruktion der einzelnen Bauteile, im Extremfall kontrollierter
Bruch des Neck Brace um Energie aufzufangen.
Neck protection system made of carbon fibre and fibreglass-reinforced plastic partially coated with a soft, impact-absorbing foam,
weight approx. 790g. The KTM Neck Brace offers scientifically and
technologically state-of-the-art protection: hyperflexion (extreme
forward movement of the head and overstretching of the head in a
forwards direction); hyperextension (extreme backward movement
of the head and overstretching of the head to the rear); lateral hyperflexion (extreme movement of the head to the side); axial loading
(compression of the spinal column due to a corresponding load to
the helmet); posterial hypertranslation (rearwards shunting of the
head on the neck).
Currently there is no other neck protection system that may keep
the above-mentioned injuries to a minimum while at the same
time allowing maximum freedom of movement. The fundamental
approach of the neck brace is to safely arrest the uncontrolled movement of the head/helmet in the event of a crash. This is achieved
by the following features of the KTM Neck Brace: Energy-absorbing
material on the outer-surface and body-contact-surface, flexibility
due to the construction of the individual components, in extreme
cases the controlled breaking of the neck brace so as to absorb
energy.
