Concept
Die NOVA.rray Vertical Array Systeme wurden für
den harten Einsatz bei Touring- und Installationsanwendungen entwickelt. In der Vergangenheit mußten
hierfür eine Vielzahl verschiedenster Lautsprechersysteme angeschafft werden, um alle Bereiche abdecken zu können. NOVA.rray Systeme ändern
diese Situation grundsätzlich. Das Herzstück jedes
NOVA.rray Systems ist die H 500 HochtontreiberEinheit, die eine kohärente Wellenfront erzeugt um
die Voraussetzung an ein Vertical Array System zu
erfüllen. Die horizontale Abstrahlung einer jeden
H 500 Einheit beträgt 90°. Die vertikale Abstrahlung
des Gesamt-Systems ist abhängig von der Anzahl
der Einheiten und deren Öffnungswinkel. Die vertikale Abstrahlung kann durch die integrierte FlugHardware jeweils um 4° kontrolliert und eingestellt
werden.
NOVA.rray vertical array systems are designed for the
requirements of touring and installation companies. In
the past rental companies had to use a multitude of
different loudspeaker systems to do their job.
NOVA.rray systems radically changes this situation.
The principle component of each NOVA.rray system is
the H 500 High driver unit, which generates a coherent
wavefront to fulfill the requirements of vertical array
systems. The horizontal dispersion of each H 500 unit
is 90°. The vertical dispersion depends on the system
quantity and splay angle. The vertical dispersion can
be controlled and adjusted by using the integrated
flying hardware, allowing degree steps of 4°.
Technology
Die NOVA.rray Einheiten weisen eine rechteckige
Konstruktion ohne Winkel an der Ober- und Unterseite auf. Dies erlaubt ein einfaches und schnelles
Stacking bei kleineren und mittleren Applikationen.
Drei H 500 Einheiten kombiniert mit einem 10” Neodym Low/Mid Lautsprecher ergibt die Bestückung
der NT 3 die für kleinere bis mittlere Applikationen
optimal geeignet ist. Die NT 1 ist mit vier H 500 Einheiten und zwei 12“ Low/Mid Lautsprechern bestückt.
Die NT 1 ist das System der Wahl für mittlere bis
größere Applikationen. Beide Einheiten machen das
NOVA.rray System extrem flexibel von kleinen bis
sehr großen Anwendungsbereichen. Das NT 1 Kabinett kann am Anschlussfeld in die Betriebsmodi
Near- oder Farfield geschaltet werden. Am Anschlussfeld des NT 3 Kabinetts kann zwischen den
Modi Array- oder Fullrangebetrieb gewählt werden.
Aufgrund der tief abgestimmten und belüfteten Gehäuse kann das System auch Fullrange ohne zusätzlichen externen Subwoofer betrieben werden.
Ein separater geflogener Subwoofer ist nicht erforderlich. Falls mehr Leistung im Bassbereich gefordert
wird, kommt der NOVA.rray NB 1 zum Einsatz. Der
NB 1 ist ein speziell konstruiertes Sub-Bass System
das mit zwei Hochleistungslautsprechern der Größe
18“ ausgestattet ist. Die Lautsprecher sind in einem
Dreikammer Bandpass-System installiert. Diese
Konstruktion liefert enorm druckvolle und tiefe Bässe
und erzeugt bis zu 6 dB mehr Schalldruck (SPL max.)
als herkömmliche Systeme. Die Konstruktion des
Subwoofers ermöglicht einen nutzbaren Frequenzbereich von 30 Hz bis 200 Hz. Die Trennfrequenz
wird zwischen 80 Hz und 160 Hz empfohlen. Der
NB 2 Hochleistungs-Subwoofer ist ein speziell entwickeltes, ventiliertes System und ist mit 2 x 12"
Neodymium Lautsprechern (3" Schwingspule und beschichteter Cone) ausgestattet. Die integrierte FlugHardware macht den NB 2 zum NOVA.rray Nano
NT 3 System kompatibel. Der NB 2 kann gestackt
oder geflogen benutzt werden. Alle NOVA.rray Kabinette sind aus 15mm Birkenmultiplex hergestellt, die
Gehäuse sind geschraubt, genutet und verklebt. Die
Gehäuse sind mit einem schützenden Überzug aus
wiederstandsfähigen POLYUREA versehen um
auch stärkeren Belastungen und Kratzer besser
stand zu halten als herkömmlich lackierte Boxen.
POLYUREA schützt deutlich besser bei schlechtem
Wetter vor Beschädigung oder Verunreinigung.

Comparing to all other systems, NOVA.rray cabinets
have square dimensions without angles on top and
bottom. This makes it very easy to use the system
also as a stacked version for small to medium
applications. Three H 500 units combined with one 10”
neodym low/ mid speaker in NT 3, for small to medium
applications and four H 500 units combined with two
12” speakers in NT 1, for medium to large
applications, makes the NOVA.rray system very
flexible. Both, from small, up to very large applications.
The NT-1 system can work in near- or far field mode,
selectable on the connector panel. The NT-3 system
can work in array- or fullrange mode, selectable on the
connector panel. NOVA.rray systems have deeply
tuned, vented cabinets which enables the system to
work in full range mode without an external sub. No
separate flown bass is needed. If more bass power is
needed, the NOVA.rray NB 1 is recommended. The
NB 1 is a special designed sub bass system, using
two heavy duty 18” speakers mounted in a triple
chamber bandpass cabinet. This design delivers a
very powerfull, deep bass and up to 6 dB more SPL
max than conventional systems. This cabinet design
offers a usable frequency range of 30 Hz to 200 Hz.
For sub or bass applications the crossover frequency
may vary from 80 Hz up to 160 Hz. The NB 2 is a high
power subwoofer with two 12“ speakers in a TRIPAS
cabinet and special ventilation system. The NB 2
offers 2 x 12" neodymium loudspeakers with double
ventilation, 3” voice coil and coated cone. The
integrated flyware makes this subwoofer compatible to
NOVA Nano NT 3. The NB 2 is designed for stacked
or flown applications. NOVA.rray enclosures are made
from 15mm birch plywood with strong grooved,
screwed and glued connections. Coated with
extremely robust black POLYUREA the enclosures
tolerate damages or scratches much better than
normal painted enclosures and shields against bad
weather conditions.

Das NOVA.rray NT 3 ist ein passives 2-Wege Vertical Array System das
speziell für den Array- und Fullrangebetrieb konzipiert wurde. Zur
Wiedergabe des Low/Mid Frequenzbereichs kommt ein 10” Hochleistungslautsprecher in Neodym-Ausführung zum Einsatz, der in ein optimal
abgestimmtes und ventiliertes Gehäuse montiert ist. Im Hochtonbereich
verfügt die NT 3 über drei H 500 Einheiten, die durch Kopplung eine kohärente
Wellenfront erzeugen. Die NT 3 kommt bei kleineren und mittleren Array
Konfigurationen zum Einsatz, kann aber auch als Downfill oder Fullrange
System verwendet werden. Im Array-Betrieb erlauben vier eingebaute ANCRA
Schienen das einfache Verbinden der Systeme. Dadurch lassen sich die NT 3 im
geflogenen Betrieb untereinander vertikal abwinkeln. Der optional erhältliche
NC 3 Flugrahmen ermöglicht den Flugbetrieb von bis zu 12 NT 3 Einheiten in

NOVA.rray NT 3 is a passive filtered 2 way vertical array system designed for
array and fullrange applications. For low / mid, the NT 3 is equipped with a
powerful 10” neodym speaker, mounted in an optimally tuned vented cabinet.
For the high range, three H 500 units are coupled together to generate a
coherent wave front. The NT 3 is designed for small to medium sized array
applications, but is also usable as a downfill or fullrange system. In array
applications integrated ANCRA tracks enable easy connection and vertical angle
adjustment between the flown cabinets. The optional NC 3 cradle allow to fly up
to 12 NT 3 cabinets in one line.
A switch at the rear of the cabinet allows “Array Mode” with 15°, or “Fullrange Mode” with
40° vertical dispersion. In both modes the horizontal dispersion is 90°. For fullrange mode the NT 3
is equipped with a tripod base.
Applications

Die NOVA.rray NT 1 ist ein passiv getrenntes 2-Wege Vertical Array System und
das Produkt der Wahl für mittlere bis größere Applikationen. Im Low/Mid Bereich kommen zwei 12” Lautsprecher, die in einem optimal abgestimmten Gehäuse
mit einzeln ventilierten Kammern verbaut sind, zum Einsatz. Im Hochtonbereich
erzeugen vier H 500 Einheiten durch Kopplung eine kohärente Wellenfront. In
Array-Anwendungen ermöglichen die integrierten ANCRA Schienen einfache Verbindungen zwischen den NT 1 und auch zum Cradle. Durch die Schienen und
Verbinder lassen sich die vertikalen Winkel zwischen den NT 1 einstellen. Der
optional erhältliche Flugrahmen NC 1 erlaubt den Flug-Betrieb von bis zu 12 NT 1
in einer Reihe. Die NT 1 können gestackt oder geflogen betrieben werden. Falls
mehr Leistung im Bassbereich gefordert wird, kommt der NOVA.rray NB 1 zum

cradle allows flying up to 12 NT 1 cabinets in one line. The NT 1 can be stacked or
flown. If real bass power is needed, the NOVA.rray NB 1 Sub is recommended.
The horizontal dispersion is switchable between near- and far field mode. In far field mode both 12” speakers are working in
parallel. In near field mode only one 12” speaker is working up to the x-over point between mid / high. The second speaker is
working only as a bass. In near field mode the directivity is switchable to +/- 15° left or right from axis. The working distance
for near field mode is up to 40m. The reachable distance in far field mode depends on the quantity of used cabinets.
Applications

Beschallungssystemen begegnet, ist es notwendig, die unterschiedlichen Vorgehensweisen in Bezug auf Konstruktion
und richtigen Einsatz von Line-Array Systemen zu kennen. Um das maximale Ergebnis aus der NOVA.rray Systemtechnologie erzielen zu können, sollte man verschiedene Konfigurationen und Setups kennen lernen. ”Step by Step"
entwickelt man ein Gefühl für den Einsatz von Array Systemen, wie man unter verschiedensten Voraussetzungen und
Gegebenheiten das optimale Ergebnis erzielen kann. Das mechanische Design des NOVA.rray Systems ermöglicht den
geflogenen als auch gestackten Einsatz. Für jeden dieser Anwendungsfälle werden mindestens drei NT 1 Einheiten pro
Seite benötigt, um eine gleichmäßige "Ausleuchtung" und präzise Directivity der hörenden Umgebung zu erzielen. Aufgrund der flexiblen Ausstattung der NT 1 Einheiten sind diese durch Schalter an der Rückseite in Bezug auf Richtcharakteristik (links/rechts) und horizontaler Directivity sehr flexibel einsetzbar und decken ein breites Einsatzfeld ab.

Die horizontale Dispersion ist in die Betriebsmodi Near- oder Farfield umschaltbar. Im Farfield-Mode arbeiten beide 12” Lautsprecher parallel. Im Nearfield-Mode arbeitet nur ein 12” Lautsprecher bis zur durch die Passivweiche definierten Übergangsfrequenz zur H 500 Einheit. Der andere 12” Lautsprecher arbeitet in diesem Fall nur im Bass- und unteren Mittenbereich. Im
Nearfield-Mode ist zusätzlich das Abstrahlverhalten bezogen auf die Mittelachse um +/- 15° links oder rechts schaltbar. Im
Nearfield-Mode werden Reichweiten von bis zu 40 Metern erzielt. Im Farfield-Mode hängt die Reichweite des Systems von der
Anzahl der eingesetzten NT 1 ab.

about different combinations and setups. 'Step by Step' the user develops his approach to assembling the optimum system
for the most differing applications and achieve best results. NOVA.rray's enclosure design allows for flown and/or stacked
setups. Each application requires a minimum of three NT 1 units per channel in order to reach even coverage and precise
directivty of the audience. NOVA.rray's NT 1 speaker provides high versatility due to its switchable directivity (left/right) and
its choice of near-field or long-throw mode. This allows a flexible use in different applications and environments.

kompatibel zum NANO NT 3. Der NB 2 Subwoofer kann als Flugbass oder gestackt
einsetzt werden. Der NB 2 kann als Option mit 4 Blue Wheels mit 100 mm Durchmesser ab Werk ausgerüstet oder nachgerüstet werden. Im NB 2 sind Fräsungen

Der NB 1 ist ein Subwoofer mit einer Dreikammer-Bandpass Konstruktion,
bestückt mit zwei 18” Tiefhub Hochleistungslautsprechern. Das SpezialTripas Design liefert in Verbindung mit den großen Ventilationsöffnungen um
bis zu 6 dB mehr Schalldruck als ein herkömmliches System. Der NB 1 ist die
Ergänzung im Sub-Bereich für die NOVA.rray NT 1 / NT 3 Systeme. Das SubKabinett liefert enorme Leistung in jeder Situation. Die Konstruktion des Subwoofers ermöglicht einen nutzbaren Frequenzbereich von 30 Hz bis 200 Hz.
Die Trennfrequenz wird zwischen 80 Hz und 160 Hz empfohlen. Der NB 1 kann
auf dem als Zubehör erhältlichen B 1 Rollbrett transportiert werden. Alternativ
können als Option 4 Blue Wheels mit 100 mm Durchmesser ab Werk montiert
oder nachgerüstet werden. Im horizontalen Einsatz sind Fräsungen für NT 1
Array Systeme integriert. Im vertikalen Einsatz sind Fräsungen für NT 3
Systeme vorgesehen.

Designed as a triple chamber vented bandpass enclosure, the NB 1 is equipped
with two 18” loudspeakers with long excursion voice coils and very high power
handling. The special tripas design in combination with large vented ports can
deliver up to 6 dB more SPL max than conventional bass systems. The NB 1
offers a usable frequency range of 30 Hz to 200 Hz. For sub or bass applications
the crossover frequency may vary from 80 Hz up to 160 Hz. This cabinet is the
additional sub to the NOVA.rray NT 1 / NT 3, delivering outstanding bass
performance in every situation. The B 1 wheel board is available as option. Also
as option 4 x 100 mm blue wheels can be mounted at the rear side as an
alternative. For horizontal use the NB 1 offers mouldings for NT 1 tops. For
vertical use the NB 1 offers mounlings for NT 3 array systems.

choice. The NFS conncetors are available
in different lenghts for different
applications. For connecting to a cradle
NC 1 / NC 3 NOVA offers special NFS as
starters. All NFS connectors are certified.

Feinwinkelung von 0° bis 10° zwischen
den Kabinetten in geflogenen oder
gestackten Anwendungen. Sie werden
zusammen mit je 4 Pins geliefert.
The professional NRC connectors for NT 1
and NT 3 enable fine adjustment from 0°
to 10° between each cabinet in flown or
stacked applications. The NRC connectors
are delivered with 4 pins each.

SB 1 stacking box
Die SB 1 Stackbox dient als Zwischenstück von Subwoofer und NT 3 Topteilen
bei gestackten Systemen. Sie bringt die
Tops auf die richtige Höhe. Die SB 1
kann beim Transport auch als KabelCase für z.B. die Lautsprecherkabel
verwendet werden.
In stacked applications the SB 1 enables
to bring the NT 3 tops in the right height. It
can be used also as cable case for
transport of i.e. the speaker cables.
