(Hastings) / Rom - Alpen Adria Gymnasium Völkermarkt

PROJEKTE
Monday was our last day and so we decided to go to
a Chinese restaurant in the evening. After having had
dinner we went to the beach in Paceville where we met
our teachers. We stayed together for a while and talked about our stay in Malta, which was, unfortunately,
passing so fast.
The thought of our departure made us all feel sad. All
in all we can say that we really liked Malta because
there is so much to discover. We really would not like
to have missed our trip to the island, where the sun
always shines.

On the 20th of September,2005 we (i.e. 21 students of
the 7th grades of our school) and our two teachers
Mrs. Zach and Mrs. Kuttner, met at the airport of
Klagenfurt for our departure to Hastings, full of energy,

good mood and with an amazing amount of luggage.
We had a pleasant flight and also a reasonable departure time (who is so stupid as to wake up at four o'clock
in the morning? ....Only guys who chose Malta…).
Having landed in London, all of us were happy to get
up and out again….but it shouldn't be…a nearly three
hours' bus drive was on plan, but finally arriving in
Hastings we realized that this journey was definitely
worth it: an awesome city, a beautiful sea town…I
guess no one really expected views like this…we were
amazed (at least me).
Well then, straight out of the bus, we were picked up
by our host parents or at least by 50% of them, like in
Christoph's case and mine. The next morning we
gathered at Pinelands Language School and exchanged news and facts (mainly about our host families,
and their driving skill, about sock eating dogs and high
technocratic football addicted Korean exchange students)
Going to school also became some nice kind of routine, and the rest of our time was filled by interesting
journeys to various castles and cities (including
Brighton, Canterbury, and London, of course).

One highlight is absolutely to be outlined: our visit to
the Queen - musical "We Will Rock You" at the
Dominion in London. Everybody was totally stoked by
this production (well…I don't know about our teachers,
but all the students definitely enjoyed it…and judging
by the standing ovations and the endless applause I
guess also the non-Austrian part of the audience did ).
Now let's say some words about our free time. The
girls spent all their spare time shopping and the boys
spent all their time off at various fast food restaurants,
esp. Burger King ("Tommy is locked inside the toilet")
On September 27th we arrived home totally tired
(having got up at 4 a.m.) but happy to have made this
experience.

Als einzige zweite Klasse lernte die 2E am 6. 3. 2006
die französische Sprache kennen. Gaëtan Guével
konnte die Schüler/innen spielerisch für Französisch
begeistern. Hier eine Auswahl der Kommentare zu dieser ungewöhnlichen Stunde.

In der Woche vom 19. bis zum 26. April 2006 durften
wir, die 7C, unter Beaufsichtigung der beiden
Professoren Roswitha Hobel-Petschnig und Wolfgang
Schnidar, das antike Rom genießen. Kolosseum,
Piazza di Spagna, Fontana di Trevi, Villa Borghese,
Pantheon, Ostia Antica, Piazza di Popolo, Forum
Romanum... - das alles und vieles mehr stand mit auf
dem Programm. Auf den Spuren von "Illuminati" hatten
wir die Ehre die älteste Stadt der Welt kennen zu lernen. Sogar die römischen Wettergötter standen uns
mit ausreichendem Sonnenschein zur Seite. Zur
Erfrischung gönnten wir uns hie und da das cremigste
Eis Italiens. Schließlich nahmen dann die heißen
Aprilabende im nächtlichen Flair Roms langsam, aber
doch ihr Ende. . .
