The Circus Saints & Sinners Club of America is a nation-wide charitable
LARRY RICHERT,
organization that got its start back in the late 1920’s. A writer for the New
RADIO PERSONALITY for KDKA 1020 AM NEWS RADIO
York World, (later to become the New York Times), who covered circuses

at Madison Square Garden, came upon an overworked 80-year-old wagon

driver sprawled out on a bed of hay. He was too tired and weak to move.
PRINTER
The writer, Freddie Benham, asked him, “Why don’t you quit?” There was
ALLEGRA PITTSBURGH
no place for old circus folk to go, was the sad reply. This was the inspiration
TUDI MECHANICAL SYSTEMS
for the start of the CS&SCA. Freddie Benham became the national president.
MARILEE TUDI, REBECCA CHRISTOF, MARYANN MOWOD,
This group provided financial assistance to old and down-trodden circus

performers. With the lack of circus performers in need in recent decades, the
club evolved into a modern non-profit philanthropic organization

a wide variety of charities over the years.
FRANK AND RITA IOZZO
The Pittsburgh “Tent” got its start in 1949 as a business luncheon club that
met at the William Penn Hotel. This club, known as Pittsburgh Humpty
Association, was started by James T. Shea and Joseph J. New. In 1953, they
applied for affiliation with the CS&SCA and a charter was granted for the new
“Humpty Tent”. This was the 14th chapter of the CS&SCA. This tent was later
re-named as “The Bob Prince Tent” in 1985 in appreciation for all the service
the “Gunner” provided.
Since the conception of this organization, members have gathered together
to enjoy evenings of fun, food and drink while being re-acquainted with old
and meeting new friends. Each year profits created from the functions have
been generously given to numerous charities. We ask you to be numbered
with us and enjoy great nights of fun and continue our tradition of giving to
those less fortunate.

It is through the efforts, energy, and dedication of our members that we continue to serve
our community. We are always looking for new members who share our passion for
charity and good times.
The recent years have been a period of encouraging change. Our membership is
increasing, new events have been added, and a large charitable distribution was made
in 2014. This past year, we honored Robert Fragasso as our Saints and Sinners Man of

2015 Man of the Year
Bob grew up in South Oakland with his mom and
4 siblings. Grace Tudi, Bob’s mom, worked hard to
provide for her children. Though material things were
scarce, the love and laughter were plentiful. Bob’s
grandfather, Gramps Nicastro, was a huge influence
on Bob growing up! With broken English , Gramps
Nicastro, used to preach “Bobby… you don’t work,
you don’t eat.” That work ethic instilled by Gramps
never left Bob!
After attending St. Regis Catholic Elementary School,
with many sacrifices and wisdom of his mom, Bob
attended Central Catholic High School. A proud and
grateful graduate of 1976, Bob realizes that his path
would have been very different had he attended a
different school. Bob says attending Central Catholic
was a life changing experience. As a testament to the value Bob places on the
education, spiritual development and friendships developed at Central, he remains
an ardent supporter of the institution both financially and with his time. The Tudi
legacy at Central Catholic remained strong with the graduation of sons Bobby (’02),
Dom (’07), Dan (’08) and David (’11).
With the intervention and support of Bob’s Uncle Don Bacco, Bob found his
passion and started to cultivate his dream of owning his own company one day.
In 1976, Bob enrolled in Triangle Tech to study HVAC. Graduating in 1978, Bob
started his career working for various firms in different positions from field technician
to sales. Along the way, Bob met the love of his life, Marilee, and married in 1981.
Bob’s dream of starting his own company was always in the forefront of his mind.
The foundation of his company would be valuing every employee and treating them
as family! In 1987, with a growing family of 4 children , $4,000 and a pickup truck,
TUDI Mechanical Systems was founded. Today, Bob’s success extends to a loving
family of 7 amazing children, 4 grandchildren with 2 more on the way, wonderful
sons and daughter-in-laws and a thriving business which employs 150+ in Pittsburgh,
PA and Tampa, FL. Bob runs his company with integrity and excellence. TUDI has
won numerous awards, but one of the most gratifying awards is that his sons and
daughters have chosen to work along side their father to continue the vision of TUDI
being the BEST SERVICE Company in the US!

Bob Tudi
Marilee says that she fell in love with Bob’s
big smile, contagious laughter and of course his
good looks!! But aside from all those qualities , she
says his greatest quality is his huge heart. Bob is a
believer in reciprocity and founded his company
with taking care of customers, employees, their
families and the community that feeds the business
at it’s forefront. His big heart is well known in the
community as he attends many auctions, charity
events and golf outings often times working the
crowd to encourage financial support. Bob’s
financial support has included organizations such
as the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Catholic
Charities of Pittsburgh, Central Catholic, Oakland Catholic, Boys and Girls Club of
Western PA, Goodwill Southwestern PA and countless others.
In 1999, Bob and Marilee started the Heat For The Needy program to provide
free heating systems to local families in need. The program combines nominations
from the community along with the time and talents of TUDI employees, their families
and program supporters to provide a “One Day Miracle” when heating systems are
installed along with other plumbing and electrical services. To date, over 175 heating
systems have been installed.
One of Bob’s favorite plays is “Man Of La Mancha.” Marilee says Bob truly
has Don Quixote’s heart. In Act 11, Don Quixote is asked to explain his actions and
proclaims...”I hope to add some measure of grace to this world.”
In many ways, Bob Tudi has accomplished the same.

To Dream the Impossible Dream
To Dream...the impossible dream...
To fight...the unbeatable foe...
To bear...with unbearable sorrow...
To run...where brave dare not go...
To right...the unrightable wrong...
To love...pure and chaste from afar...
To reach...the unreachable star...
And I know if I’ll only be true to this glorious quest,
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm, when I’m laid to rest...
And the world will be better for this!!!

and decide to raise a family? Many moments of musical magic!
Alan Baylock has composed and arranged music for some of the biggest names
in the industry, including Doc Severinsen, Wynonna, Roy Clark, Al Jarreau, and
Ellie Goulding. His wife, Maria has performed such eclectic places as the Kennedy
Center in Washington, D.C., Disney’s Epcot Center, and the Vatican, where she
performed a private concert for Pope John Paul II. Their three children share their
love of music and always cherish opportunities to play together. Francis (18) is a
talented pianist and tuba player, Michael (15) is a pianist and a all-state bass player,
and Anna (12) sings, plays fiddle, guitar and piano, and is a budding songwriter.
