natural, pyritefree rounded quartz sand.
Zu dessen Einfärbung werden ausschließlich Pigmente mit höchsten
Echtheitseigenschaften verwendet. Dabei erfolgt die gleichmäßige
Umhüllung eines jeden Korns mit einem 2-K-Kunstharzsystem.

COLORITQUARZ für Buntsteinputze und hochbeanspruchte Industrieböden zu empfehlen, beispielsweise für Lebensmittelhersteller, Automobilindustrie, Brauereien, Druckereien, für den Nass- und Hygienebereich, ...

COLORITQUARZ muss seine Witterungsbeständigkeit bei Wind und Wetter
im Freien beweisen. Für eine Anwendungsempfehlung darf ihm Sonne,
Frost und Niederschläge nichts ausmachen. Wir betreiben dazu am
Standort Hirschau eine eigene Freibewitterungs-Station (11°57‘ O; 49°42‘
N; 400 m; ca. 140 Regentage/Jahr; ca. 750 mm Niederschlag/Jahr; max.
36°C, min. –17°C ). COLORITQUARZ wird in Langzeitstudien bewittert,
ständig kontrolliert und die Ergebnisse dokumentiert. Die daraus gewonnenen Erfahrungen fließen in die Produktoptimierung ein.
Seine gute mechanische Stabilität muss COLORITQUARZ in standardisierten Labor-Tests beweisen: COLORITQUARZ wird 1:1 mit Grenette gemischt
und mit 15 % Dispersionsbinder versetzt. Die Mischung wird in einem
Gefäß mit 40 Umdrehungen pro Minute gleichmäßig gerührt. Nach 1, 5,
10, 15, 25 und 45 Minuten Mischen werden Proben entnommen und auf
Kunststoffplatten aufgetragen. Die visuelle Auswertung erfolgt nach
Verfilmung des Dispersionsbinders. Nur abriebbeständige Coloritquarze,
die die Belastungen unverändert überstehen, können für Anwendungen
wie Industrieböden und Buntsteinputze empfohlen werden.
To assess the resistance against aggressive chemicals AKW-COLORITQUARTZ is emmersed in various acids, alkali and solvents for several weeks.
These results allow recommendation of COLORITQUARTZ for coloured plaster and industrial floorings with high demands, like food processing, automotive industry, breweries, printers, wet areas like spas, saunas, baths, ...

COLORITQUARTZ has to prove its stability against wind and weather. To
be recommended for exterior applications COLORITQUARTZ has to withstand sun, frost and rain. We test this at our outdoor weather test stand
located in Hirschau, Bavaria (11°57‘ E ; 49°42‘ N ; 400 m; about 140 raining days/year; about 750 mm precipitation/year; max. 36°C, min.
–17°C). There we do continious testing, controlling and documenting;
the results allow us to continiously improve our product performance.

COLORITQUARTZ has to show its mechanical stability in standardized
tests. COLORITQUARTZ is mixed 1:1 with Grenette, 15% dispersion binder
is added. The mixture is stirred in a container (40 rpm). Samples are
extracted after 1, 5, 10, 15, 25 and 45 minutes and placed onto a plastic
plate. After the drying process the samples are visually inspected. Only
abrasion resistant COLORITQUARTZ is recommended for applications as
industrial flooring and coloured plaster.

geringeren Stabilität gegen mechanische Belastung und gegen Umwelteinflüsse weniger geeignet.
DECOR SPLIT is special designed for resin plasters used interior and for
deco applications. We recommend respective COLORITQUARTZ types for
resin plasters used outside and for industrial floorings.
DECOR SPLIT is only very limited suitable for those applications because
of less stability against mechanical strain and weathering.

Characteristics
Coloritquartz is coloured quartz sand. Each grain is coated by a synthetic resin film and
inorganic or organic pigments with high colour stability. Coating is done in a gentle
thermally-assisted process guaranteeing a reproducible production.

HAZARD IDENTIFICATION
Although silica sand is not hazardous, any respirable crystalline silica generated by processing silica sand may
cause health effects.
Prolonged and/or massive inhalation of respirable crystalline silica dust may cause lung fibrosis, commonly referred
to as silicosis. Principal symptoms of silicosis are cough and breathlessness. People with silicosis are reported to
have an increased cancer risk. Exposure to dust should be monitored and managed.

TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
The following information applies to the case any respirable crystalline silica is generated by processing silica sand.
Prolonged and/or massive inhalation of respirable crystalline silica dust may cause lung fibrosis, commonly referred
to as silicosis. Principal symptoms of silicosis are cough and breathlessness. People with silicosis are reported to
have an increased cancer risk. Exposure to dust should be monitored and managed.
IARC (The International Agency for Research on Cancer) believes that crystalline silica inhaled from occupational
sources can cause lung cancer in humans. However it pointed out that not all occupational conditions nor all
crystalline silica types were to be incriminated.
In June 2003, SCOEL (the EU Scientific Committee on Occupational Exposure Limits) concluded that the main effect in
humans of the inhalation of respirable crystalline silica dust is silicosis. "There is sufficient information to conclude
that the relative risk of lung cancer is increased in persons with silicosis (and, apparently, not in employees without
silicosis exposed to silica dust in 2 quarries and in the ceramic industry). Therefore preventing the onset of silicosis
will also reduce the cancer risk..." (SCOEL SUM Doc 1994-final, June 2003).
There is a body of evidence supporting the fact that increased cancer risk would be limited to people already
suffering from silicosis. According to the current state of the art worker protection against silicosis can be
consistently assured by respecting the existing regulatory occupational exposure limits.

WASTE FROM RESIDUES / UNUSED PRODUCTS:
Can be landfilled in compliance with local regulations. The material should be buried to prevent airborne respirable
dust being emitted as far as respirable fraction has been created when processing sand.
Where possible, recycling should be preferred to disposal.

In all cases dust formation from residues in the packaging should be avoided and suitable worker protection be
assured. Use sealed receptacles/store rooms.
Recycling and disposal of the paper bags and of the PE layer of shrinking film after conferring with a suitable waste
