Thank you for choosing instantOGo. This booklet describes the first steps to setting
up the instantOGo Groupware Linux Server. You will find further information in the
administration manual. For the latest information and software updates please
check http://www.instantogo.com
Hardware Requirements
The minimum hardware requirements include an Intel Pentium class Server/PC
connected to a monitor and keyboard equipped with the following
· a bootable CD-ROM drive
· a hard disk drive with a minimum of 2.0 GByte disk space
· at least 192 MB memory
In addition, please check the release notes at http://www.instantogo.com/docs/ for
more detailed hardware requirement information.
Preparation
Warning:
The default installation procedure will delete all information and data on the first
hard drive. Please verify that the server’s hard drive does not contain any data that
has not been permanently stored as all data will be destroyed during the default
installation procedure.
To prepare for the installation it is necessary to determine and record the IP address
and the fully qualified domain name of your server. You will be asked for this information during the installation procedure. As the ZideLook license key for MS-Outlook
users is bound to the IP address of your instantOGo Linux Server, the server must
be assigned a static IP address. Should the server IP address change, your ZideLook
license keys become invalid. (Note: You may request a new one using the registration
form at http://www.skyrix.com.)

Installation
1. Please make sure that the CD-ROM drive is set to the first boot device
in the server’s system BIOS.
5. Configure the firewall settings.
Make sure to allow access to all services the server has to provide
over the network (e.g. Cyrus IMAP).
2. Insert the instantOGo Groupware Linux CD, power up the server
and follow the instructions.
3. Configure the IP address and the netmask unique to your server.
6. Set the password of the “root” user.
Important: Make sure to record the root password.
4. Set the hostname, gateway and DNS server data as necessary.
7. Complete the installation procedure by following all instruction.
Upon completion you will be asked to reboot the server.
8. During the process the End-User License Agreement (EULA) will appear.
Please review the EULA carefully and indicate your selection as prompted.
9. Complete the configuration requirements and make sure to add a new Linux
user, eg “admin”.
10. Upon completion of the configuration process your instantOGo Groupware Server
will be “live”. Simply logon as the user admin created previousely.

instantOGo Configuration Database
Upon completion of the installation procedure some basic steps are required to setup
and configure the mail and groupware server. This section provides the basic steps
necessary to configure the messaging and collaboration component features. For
more informations please refer to the administration manual.
Start your web browser and enter http://localhost/OpenGroupware, login as root
user. Choose “Server Settings” from the application menu. The instantOGo configuration database appears.
The configuration database contains serveral objects which should be used to
manage the respective configuration files for Unix standard tools and daemons in a
dynamic manner.
First Login
1. Start the Firefox Browser on Desktop and enter
http://localhost/OpenGroupware
into the browsers address bar. (you may just use the bookmark)
2. You will be automatically logged in as the root user of the groupware server as the
groupware administrators password is not set yet.
Each configuration object has a corresponding editor page. Please click “save” on
each page to save any configuration changes made.
Note that settings are not immediately active. The settings saved in the instantOGo
configuration database are activated by clicking the “export” button at the main page
of the configuration database. The activation process may take several minutes to
complete.
3. Select the preferences application and click “edit password” in the upper right
corner. Enter a new password twice as indicated and save.
4. The default language for the groupware root user is English. Should you want to
change this select the display application preferences and select the language
setting accordingly.
To apply your changes, just select “Logout” (the last entry on the left menu bar) and
re-login.

Mail Server Configuration
1. Start your web browser, enter http://localhost/OpenGroupware,
login as user root.
3. Click the “password” button to set the users initial password.
Note: A password is mandatory for a mail account.
2. Choose “Server Settings” from the application menu.
The instantOGo configuration database appears.
Select the MTA Object to configure the mail server .
Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each new user.
4. Choose “System Settings” from application menu and click “export” to activate
the imap mailboxes for all new users.
3. Make the necessary changes, save and export the new settings.
New users may now login to the instantOGo web interface and use the webmail
application to access their maiboxes and email.
MS-Outlook client setup
MS-Outlook support of instantOGo requires an appropriate license key.
1. Request a license key
Please enter http://www.skyrix.com/ in your web browser and select ZideLook MAPI
registration from the left menu bar.
Adding users/mailboxes
Setting up new groupware accounts and making e-mail services available is a simple
four step procedure.
Complete the form as instructed providing the IP address of your instantOGo server
and enter your registration code. Please order a registration code if you did not buy
one with instantOGo. Please feel free to contact [email protected] for any questions.
2. Apply the license key
1. Login as the user root at the instantOGo web interface. Choose “User Manager”
from the applicaction menu and click “new” to access the new user editor.
After your receive your license key, install the key using the ZideStore license
configuration object of the instantOGo configuration database.
2. Complete the attributes of the new user and select “Export account:” checkbox to
activate this user.

Registration and Updates
Willkommen
To take advantage from new features and bugfixes you should check for updates on a
regular basis. Here is the procedure to do this:

1. Select “System Settings” from the application menue and choose the “Updates”
configuration object.
2. Enter your instantOGo registration code you got via e-mail from the Internet
shop or from your local reseller/distributor. (Please contact [email protected] if
you have any question regarding this code.)
3. Select “check for new updates”, save your settings and remember to apply the
changes by clicking “export”.
4. InstantOGo checks for new packages now. This may take up to serveral minutes. Please check the configuration editor for a list of new packages, select the
packages you want to update, save and export your changes to apply the new
packages.
Hardwareanforderungen
Die minimale Hardwareanforderung für instantOGo Groupware Linux ist ein Computer der Intel-Pentium-Klasse mit Monitor, Tastatur und folgender Ausstattung:
· bootfähiges CD-ROM-Laufwerk
· Festplatte oder freie Partition: min. 2.0 GB
· Arbeitsspeicher: min. 192 MB

Releasenotes, welche im Detail die Hardwareanforderungen beschreiben.
Vorbereitung
Achtung:
Während der Installation wird die erste Festplatte komplett gelöscht.
Bitte vergewissern Sie sich vor der Installation, dass die Festplatte keine wichtigen
Daten mehr enthält.
Während der Installation werden Sie aufgefordert, Ihrem Server eine IP-Adresse und
einen Namen (inkl. Domain) zuzuweisen. Bitte halten Sie diese Informationen bereit.
Dem Server sollte eine feste IP-Adresse zugewiesen werden. Sofern Sie auch mit MSOutlook arbeiten, ist dies zwingend notwendig, da sich der ZideLook-Lizenzschlüssel
fest an die IP-Adresse Ihres Servers bindet. Wenn Sie diese ändern, wird die Lizenz
ungültg.

Installationsanleitung
1. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass das CD-ROM-Laufwerk als erstes Boot-Device im
BIOS eingestellt ist.
5. Konfigurieren Sie die Firewall-Einstellungen. Bitte beachten Sie, dass alle
Dienste (z.B. für E-Mail) aktiviert sind, die der Server anderen Computern später
bereitstellen soll.
2. Legen Sie die instantOGo Groupware Linux CD ein, booten Sie den Server und
folgen Sie den Anweisungen.
3. Vergeben Sie eine IP-Adresse mit der entsprechenden Netzmaske aus ihrem Netz.
6. Vergeben Sie ein Passwort für den Linux-Benutzer „ root“.
Wichtig: Merken Sie sich unbedingt dieses Passwort, da sich ansonsten das Betriebssystem nicht erreichen/administrieren lässt.
4. Vergeben Sie einen Namen (inkl. Domain) für den Server und tragen Sie die
Gateway-Adresse Ihres Routers und die des DNS-Servers ein.
7. Starten Sie am Ende der Installation den Server neu, wenn Sie dazu aufgefordert
werden.
8. Es öffnen sich die Lizenzbestimmungen für Endbenutzer (EULA). Lesen Sie diese
aufmerksam und bestätigen Sie Ihr Einverständnis.
9. Sie werden nun aufgefordert, einige zusätzliche Konfigurationen vorzunehmen
und einen weiteren Linux-Benutzer anzulegen. Legen Sie beispielsweise den
Benutzer „ admin“ an.
10. Das instantOGo Linux Betriebssystem ist nun einsatzbereit. Um zu starten, melden Sie sich bitte mit dem zuvor erstellten Benutzerkonto an (z.B. „ admin“).

Konfigurationsdatenbank
Nach der Installation des Betriebssystems sind nur noch wenige Konfigurationen
auszuführen. Dieser Abschnitt behandelt nur die ersten grundlegenden Schritte zur
Konfiguration der Mail- und Groupware-Dienste. Ausführliche Informationen finden
Sie im Administrationshandbuch.
Starten Sie den Webbrowser, geben Sie die Adresse http://localhost/OpenGroupware
ein. Melden Sie sich als Benutzer „ root“ an. Wählen Sie „ Server-Einstellungen“ aus
dem Anwendungsmenü. Es erscheint die instantOGo Konfigurationsdatenbank.
Die Konfigurationsdatenbank besteht aus mehreren Objekten, mit deren
Hilfe man alle Standard-Dienste leicht konfigurieren kann.
Erstes Einloggen
1. Starten Sie den Firefox Webbrowser auf Ihrem Desktop. Geben Sie in der
Adresszeile http://localhost/OpenGroupware ein oder verwenden Sie das
entsprechende Lesezeichen.
2. Sie sind nun automatisch als der „ root“-Benutzer des Groupware-Servers
angemeldet, weil für diesen bisher kein Passwort vergeben wurde.
3. Wählen Sie im Menü unten links „ Preferences“ und klicken Sie dann „ edit
password“ in der oberen rechten Ecke. Tragen Sie ein neues Passwort ein und
speichern Sie das Passwort mit „ save“.
Jedes Konfigurationsobjekt hat eine Editor-Seite zur Berarbeitung der Werte. Um die
Einstellungen in der Datenbank zu speichern, muss jeweils „ save“ (bzw. „ speichern“)
gedrückt werden.
Die Einstellungen sind nicht sofort aktiv. Die in der instantOGo Konfigurationsdatenbank gespeicherten Einstellungen werden erst in die Konfiguration des Servers
übernommen, nachdem sie explizit aktiviert wurden. Klicken Sie bitte die Schaltfläche „ export“ auf der Hauptseite der Konfigurationsdatenbank, um den Aktivierungsprozess zu starten. Dieser kann, je nach Einstellungen, mehrere Minuten in
Anspruch nehmen.
4. Die voreingestellte Sprache für den Administrator ist Englisch. Sofern Sie dies
ändern möchten, wählen Sie aus der Liste der Application Preferences „ Display“
aus, stellen eine andere Sprache ein und speichern die Änderung.
Zum Aktivieren der Einstellungen wählen Sie einfach „ Logout“ (der unterste Eintrag
links im Menü) und melden sich dann wieder an.

Mail-Server-Konfiguration
Nutzer/Postfächer anlegen
1. Starten Sie den Webbrowser, geben Sie die Adresse http://localhost/OpenGroupware ein und melden Sie sich als Benutzer „ root“ an.
Das Anlegen neuer Groupware-Benutzer und das Bereitstellen der E-Mails für diese
ist ein einfacher Vorgang aus folgenden vier Schritten:

2. Geben Sie die Werte für den neuen Benutzer ein und kreuzen Sie „ Exportiere
Account“ an, damit dieser Benutzer beim Export veränderter Einstellungen vom
Aktivierungsprozess der Konfigurationsdatenbank berücksichtigt wird.
3. Klicken Sie die Schaltfläche „ Passwort ändern“, um Ihre Einstellungen zu speichern und ein Passwort zu setzen.
Hinweis: Für Benutzer mit Postfach ist ein Passwort zwingend erforderlich.
Wiederholen Sie die Schritte 2. und 3. für jeden neuen Benutzer.
4. Klicken Sie die Schaltfläche „ export“ auf der Hauptseite der Konfigurationsdatenbank, um die Postfächer für alle neuen Benutzer zu erzeugen.
Die neuen Benutzer können sich nun am instantOGo Webinterface einloggen und
die instantOGo E-Mail-Anwendung verwenden, um auf ihre Mailboxen zuzugreifen.
4. Speichern Sie die Änderungen und klicken Sie auf der Hauptseite der Konfigurationsdatenbank die Schaltfläche „ export“, um die neuen Einstellungen zu
aktivieren.

MS-Outlook integrieren
Registrierung und Softwarepflege
Für die MS-Outlook-Unterstützung von instantOGo benötigen Sie einen Lizenzschlüssel.
InstantOGo Groupware Linux besteht aus einer Vielzahl von Softwarekomponenten. Damit Sie von neuen Funktionen und ggf. von behobenen Mängeln profitieren
können, sollten Sie regelmäßig überprüfen, ob im Internet neue Versionen einzelner
Komponenten verfügbar sind.
1. Fordern Sie einen Lizenzschlüssel an
Geben Sie dazu http://www.skyrix.com/ als Adresse in ihrem Webbrowser ein und
wählen Sie „ ZideLook MAPI Registrierung“ aus dem Menü links.
Füllen Sie das Formular mit Ihren Daten aus, geben Sie die IP-Adresse Ihres
instantOGo Servers an und tippen Sie Ihren ZideLook-Registrierungscode ein. Sofern
Sie noch keinen Registrierungscode für ZideLook zusammen mit instantOGo erworben haben, können Sie dort online einen solchen nachkaufen.
Für Fragen hierzu wenden Sie sich bitte per E-Mail an [email protected]
1. Wählen Sie „ Server-Einstellungen“ und öffnen Sie das Konfigurationsmodul

Schaltfläche „ export“ klicken.
2. Aktivieren Sie den Lizenzschlüssel
In der Konfigurationsdatenbank befindet sich das Objekt „ ZideStore“ zur Verwaltung
der Lizenzschlüssel. Nachdem Sie Ihren Lizenzschlüssel per E-Mail erhalten haben,
können Sie ihn dort eintragen.

4. InstantOGo Groupware Linux prüft nun, ob neue Pakete einzelner Softwarekomponenten vorliegen. Dies kann mehrere Minuten dauern. Danach werden im

an, die aktualisiert werden sollen, speichern und exportieren Sie wieder diese
