Dr. Jan Gernoth is a partner of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm's
Frankfurt office. His practice focuses on real estate transactions, in particular the
sale and purchase of real estate portfolios or individual properties. He also
routinely represents domestic, European and non-European companies in
connection with commercial leases. Before joining Paul Hastings, he was part of
a major US law firm since 2004 and also practiced in its Chicago office.
After completing a banking apprenticeship, Dr. Gernoth studied law at the
Universities of Hamburg and Heidelberg. He earned his doctorate degree from
the University of Heidelberg (with research stays in Exeter and London). He has
been admitted to practice in Germany since 2004 and is fluent in German and
English.
