The cornerstone for this success was laid over 150 years ago
when the first winter guests arrived in the Landwasser Valley

Sporting paradise, spa town, business town, cultural centre and
après ski meet amidst a beautiful mountain landscape.
Davos is the ideal starting base for exploring the unspoiled
nature in the Flüela, Dischma and Sertig valleys or the Walser
villages of Monstein. The Schatzalp lies high up on a sun-kissed
terrace directly above Davos, also known as the «Magic Mountain».

World of Ice

The «World of Ice» adventure ice playground opens in December
2016 on the site of the Davos Sports Centre, replacing the natural
ice rink.
The playground features a number of themed ice rinks, all
connected to each other. A rustic cosy wooden chalet and market
stalls offer a diverse range of food and drink.

Madrisa

Some 22 million francs has been invested on the Madrisa in the
summer of 2016, which is intended to safeguard this mountain
region for the long term.
The new 6-seater chairlift «Schaffürggli» is 1,860-metre long,
covers a height of 510 metres and carries 2,600 people per hour.
Adjustment of the seat height of the chair is unique in Switzerland.

Davos Klosters offers a wide range of winter

the valley or high up in the six ski areas, depending on their ability.

Hundreds of kilometres of hiking trails for leisurely ramblers, sociable and more athletic hikers or high-altitude alpine routes for

The Destination Davos Klosters and the Prättigau offer some of
the most attractive mountain bike riding in the Alps. Families and
leisure cyclists will be thrilled to try out the well-developed network of cycle paths.
The alpine trails promise plenty of real flow and riding enjoyment on breathtaking biking terrain against the backdrop of the
magnificent mountains. Adrenaline-fuelled downhillers and dirt
specialists are sure to find the thrills they seek on the freeride
run or in the bike parks.

A

For over 125 years the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) has been synonymous with first-class railway experiences. The famous Bernina
and Glacier Express classic railway passes through the UNESCO
World Heritage area.
Both the Wiesen and Landwasser Viaducts lie not far from
Davos. The Wiesen Viaduct (opened in 1909) inspired Ernst Ludwig Kirchner in his painting «Bridge near Wiesen» in 1926. The
Kirchner Museum of Davos was opened in 1992 and houses the
world‘s largest collection of his works.

Albula Railway Museum
The Albula Railway Museum is located in Bergün, right next to the Albula Line of the
Rhaetian Railway. A great attraction for families and railway enthusiasts alike.
With various exhibition rooms, original objects and one of the world’s last Crocodile
locomotives, the museum provides a historical and current view of Switzerland’s most
spectacular railway, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Visitors can see over 400 items from more than a century of history, displayed in 1300

Bolgen Lift, Davos Platz
The world’s first draglift, built in 1934. Next to it is the Carjöl 2-seater chairlift with a
beginners piste on the first section for a taste of winter sport.
Bolgen is also the site of the Swiss Snowsport School Davos and Top Secret Ski School
nursery slopes (see Snowsport Instruction) with children’s ski schools. Kids from age 4
can enjoy finding their ski legs in the Bobo Club.
Bünda Lift, Davos Dorf
Another Swiss Snowsport School Davos practise area is on the Bünda areal

Whether you want to train in the romantic side valleys, on the FIS racing pistes in the
Flüela Valley or later on our night runs, you're certain to find your ideal stretch. And
there are even special pistes along the Landwasser and the Landquart where you can
take your dog. And all free, because we have no obligatory cross-country ski sticker. Free
maps are available at the information office.

Freeride Region Pischa
Pischa is one of Switzerland’s largest freeride regions. Freeriders enjoy a fabulous
deep-snow paradise with runs that are marked and secured from Alpine dangers yet
unprepared.

Sledging Davos (night sledging)
Davos Klosters is the birthplace of sledging as an international sport. The first official
sledge race took place in Davos as early as 1883. In Davos Klosters, the famous Davos
sledge, often copied throughout the world, has developed into a sledge for all-round use.
