first mechanical ski lift—Curé Labelle, responsible for the P'tit train
du Nord, which carried eager young men and women on ski trains
between 1920 and 1940 and later made way for the longest linear
park in North America, with 42 km (26 mi) dedicated to
cross-country skiing and 114 km (71 mi) to snowmobile trails.
