As second generation Australian Italian’s, originally from
Sicily, Gelato runs through our veins. Our freshly made
authentic Italian Gelato is created with love (only as
an Italian can) using the finest quality ingredients. The
sensational flavours and multitude of recipes will leave
you spoilt for choice and wanting more.
So you may ask - what is that makes gelato different
from ice cream?
Just by looking at our displays, you can instantly tell that
gelato has a different look and texture to ice cream. It
has a softer, more elastic appearance and is much
slower to melt in comparison. Gelato is also served at
a higher temperature in order to maintain that famous
elastic texture.
In a nutshell, gelato has less fat – yes that’s right “less
fat”. Gelato is also churned at a much slower pace, which
means not as much air is whipped into the mixture. I
guess you could say we take more time and more care,
resulting in more flavour.
All of our delectable Gelato is made by the heads of “la
famiglia” themselves, Sam and Martha, exclusively for
our Twisted Sista stores.
